We received so many great responses when we put this in our newsletter; we thought we'd republish it here.
I have a wonderful father, and I’m married to a guy who is also a first-rate dad, so I feel pretty fortunate to be surrounded by good male energy. My sons are not yet fathers, but when I mentioned to one of them that I’d be writing a Father’s Day article, he said, “Mom, you need to talk about how the father is the warrior.”
I don’t recall my husband or I having employed that word, but somehow he determined that dads need to take that posture of protector and provider. I found myself feeling extra proud of him that day. (more…)
In my e-book Secret Spoonfuls, I share the insight I accumulated as a “sneaky mom” trying to get my kids to eat nutritionally dense foods that taste great.
One day, it occurred to me that ice cream, when made from raw cream and milk along with raw free-range organic eggs plus a touch of honey, was a great food. And as breakfast was the most trying meal, I began incorporating ice cream into our daily fare. Suddenly, I had no problem convincing them to eat their breakfast. (more…)
Forget the mornings … sometimes this awful sensation can last all day! However, not with homeopathy. Unlike many modern medical methods, homeopathy has no side effects or detriments to the baby. In fact, one of the best times to use homeopathy is during pregnancy.
Choose a Remedy
Choose one of the remedies below that most closely fits the symptoms at hand, and for most moms, if the remedy is taken twice daily for 1-10 days, there’s often a nice shift. That’s how we know it’s time to stop using the remedy. If the symptoms return, then it’s time to resume its use.
I’m worried for Kate Birch and Cilla Whatcott, authors of “The Solution: Homeoprophylaxis: The Vaccine Alternative.”
They are putting themselves in the middle of a battleground where arrows will likely fly. Anyone who slices at the market share of big pharma and government could find themselves in the crosshairs.
Yet, I admire their courage, for this is a bold book. Homeopaths are aware of the technique these authors present, but the general public is not. It’s high time that someone with pluck gets this vital information spread to those who matter … parents. (more…)
Are you a mother? If you are, you know that it is the most important job on earth
And it takes guts to be a good one.
A mother’s job is to protect and nurture. No decisions ought to be made based on conveniences, styles or her own emotional desires.
Does that sound old-fashioned? You bet!
Does it sound hard? Yes, that too.
Mothers should always do what is best for their children. (more…)
You probably can relate to this situation I experienced early in my homeopathy journey. I knew the power of homeopathy based on the amazing cures that I had experienced in my own life and the lives of others, including my pets and livestock. Still, I sometimes found myself at a loss when a well-meaning friend or relative asserted that homeopathy has no scientific proof or research to back it up.
Quite the contrary is actually true. Homeopathy has a rich history of research behind it. In fact, its discoverer, Dr. Samuel Hahnemann, was a methodical scientist in his exploration of the principle that “like cures like.” Unfortunately for his family, in the very beginning, some of his research consisted of conducting “provings” on them and documenting their symptoms. I’m sure it made for lively dinner conversation. What symptoms am I going to develop this week? (more…)
Do you hear that? Soft and quiet… It’s the velvety sound of a baby sleeping peacefully. But it wasn’t like that earlier tonight or any night this week, for that matter.
Until Mom found the correct remedy, this now peaceful bambino was a screaming, back-arching bundle of nerves. No amount of rocking, feeding or cuddling did the trick.
That’s when this mom turned to her homeopathy notes.
