Vaginal yeast infection, also called candidiasis, is a common problem of women caused by the overgrowth of the fungus candida albicans. This fungus normally resides in the body but is kept under control by lactobacillus bacteria.
A healthy immune system will maintain a correct balance between the yeast and the bacteria, but if this balance is upset, the fungus can get out of hand. Some things suspected to contribute to the overgrowth of candida include the use of antibiotics, birth control pills and immune-suppressing drugs such as steroids; eating refined sugar and processed foods; or ingesting certain trigger foods, such as bread and baked goods, even honey and too much fruit.
Need I mention how important diet and abstinence from drugs is to keep this in check? Yet even hormonal changes during pregnancy and perimenopause can also trigger candidiasis, so it's not always drugs and the wrong foods that are to blame.
If unchecked, an overgrowth of candida can lead to a wide range of systemic symptoms, including digestive issues such as pain, gas, bloating, constipation, diarrhea and mucus in the stool; itching in the skin, ears, vagina and rectum; skin problems such as acne and eczema, reproductive problems such as painful menstruation, infertility and low libido; and even mood changes, such as anxiety, depression, mood swings and difficulty focusing.
Conventional treatments focus on destroying the candida to stop the overgrowth, but like all drug treatments, this can be accompanied by side effects, and often the overgrowth reappears as soon as the treatment stops. A suspension of symptoms is not what we're after. We want full resolution, and you can get that with the protocols I share with you today.
Homeopathy is a safe and effective medicine that gently guides the body back to health and reduces susceptibility to future outbreaks.
Homeopathic treatment for recurrent candidiasis usually brings relief within a week, but the treatment may need to continue for 3-5 months to eliminate the problem and prevent recurrences.
I've included a few of the most common remedies used to uproot vaginal yeast infections. I'm including them but want to give you a heads up that my all-time favorite remedy for this affliction is based on what I learned in Calcutta from Dr. Prasanta Banerji. In approximately 80% of the population with this affliction, the best by far medicine for yeast is Mercurius solubilis 200C taken once daily. If there's accompanying itching, not mild, but quite intrusive, then Arsenicum album 200C twice daily is a better choice. However, if these remedies aren't found to be useful (give at least a few weeks to note improvement or not), then consider some of the following remedies. But I'll bet you won't need to go any further than these.
Kreosotum 30C: The sufferer needing Kreosotum will experience violent itching and burning of the vulva, labia and thighs. The discharge is profuse, watery and sometimes yellowish with marked acridity causing soreness, smarting and red spots on the vulva.
Calcarea carbonica, 30C: The person needing this remedy will likely show a profuse, persistent milky or yellow discharge accompanied by itching and burning. The person may also experience morning hunger, acidity of the stomach and cold, damp feet.
Sepia 30C: Women who are prone to recurrent candidiasis and repetitive urogenital infections might want to consider this medicine. The discharge is yellowish-green in color, somewhat offensive and often worse before menses with pains in the abdomen. The woman is likely to be on birth control pills or overwhelmed by her motherly duties.
Natrum muriaticum 30C: This cell salt is excellent for a woman with a watery discharge who is prone to skin and respiratory allergies, acne or herpes.
Knowing how to treat problems like this quickly, inexpensively, without a prescription, questionable drugs and high costs is the way I like to live my life and I want to share with you how you can do the same.
Warmly,
I have been where you are now. I’ve dieted, taken supplements, bioidentical hormones, essential oils, herbs – but nothing, nothing has ever come close to the reproducible, safe, and effective results I and my clients have achieved with homeopathy. Please pass this on to your friends.

I am a homeopath with a worldwide practice working with families and individuals via Zoom. I'm also a teacher and most importantly, a mom who raised my now-adult children depending on homeopathy over the last 31 years. I lived decades of my life with food intolerances, allergies, and chemical sensitivities until I was cured with homeopathy, so I understand pain, anxiety, and suffering. You may feel that your issues are more severe or different than anyone else’s, but I have seen it all in my practice and in my work in India. My opinion is that nothing has come close to the reproducible, safe and effective results that my clients, students and I have achieved with homeopathy.
Call today and learn how homeopathy might just be the missing piece in your health strategy.
Joette is not a physician and the relationship between Joette and her clients is not of prescriber and patient, but as educator and client. It is fully the client's choice whether or not to take advantage of the information Joette presents. Homeopathy doesn't "treat" an illness; it addresses the entire person as a matter of wholeness that is an educational process, not a medical one. Joette believes that the advice and diagnosis of a physician is often in order.

Thank you for sharing all this great information. I will most definitely be sharing this with my friends. It is something that so many women can benefit knowing.
Thank you so much for this information Joette. So many of us suffer from candida that does not involve a vaginal yeast infection. What would you recommend for a systemic candida?
Thank you!
I wish I could cover all candida infections in one blog. I promise to cover the others soon. thanks for the encouragement.
I had great success using calc carb 30c twice daily for thrush with my baby. I gave it as described to both myself and my baby. Our symptoms started decreasing about a week after taking this remedy. I kept it up for a number of months in both of us because I saw other seemingly unrelated symptoms start to decrease too. It was so nice to not struggle with thrush for months like I had with my previous baby. Thanks so much joette for all your amazing information.
How did you take the calc carb and what blog are you referring to for the nipple and baby thrush?
thanks sending to bff who has has this for yrs.
So happy to see this article in my e-mail today! Is the protocol the same for candida overgrowth in the gut?
The remedy choice is different when it presents in different areas of the body. I’ll get to another blog on this subject soon. Thanks for the feedback.
Joette, did you happen to address systemic candida in a later blog post? I have suspect I have a small patch of eczema or yeast on my face. I have searched your blog for information on how treat it but have only found the remedies for vaginal yeast infections.
Jackie, I’ve not offered a protocol for systemic candida because I don’t approach it that way. Instead, we look at the diagnosis as well as how it presents and choose a protocol based on that. In other words, if eczema is the diagnosis, we use the eczema protocol. Candida is usually a rationale or is theoretical.
Im just curious, if the causation was taking the mineral boron (it breaks down candida biofilms) would the homeo solution be borax? Ive been struggling with systemic candida, which has been whittled down to just yeast infection now. I was taking boron a couple yrs ago, and for awhile it was a magic pill for so many reasons, but then all heck broke loose. Then I was on 4 antibiotics. And I kept stopping and reintroducing the boron, and still till this day, it causes this problem…
I teach how to use the name of the condition and how it presents (symptoms) to determine the medicine choice; not what the potential of the cause might be.
So helpful! Thank you!
Thank you for making this so comprehensive! Treating yeast can be overwhelming! And most women don’t know the issues involved with conventional treatment. This one should be shared with women everywhere!
Thank you for sharing, Joette. I will send this link to my daughter.
Thank you Joette, for this article. My ND indicated candidiasis and has had me on several protocols and my NAET Dr. found candida with out question. Mine must be mild, only exhibiting itself as some form of exzema on face (esp. around mouth and chin) and itchy arms/ears. I just thought I was detoxing. As I read your description it all made sense. I will put this to use starting today!
So grateful!
Thank you for this information. Do you have any suggestions for systemic candida that shows up in other areas (such as breasts – stabbing pains, itching, thrush with a nursing baby)?
You’re the 2nd response requesting this. I’ll get on it soon.
Thanks Joette! I’m going to try this right away!
Awesome! I’m going to try one of the top remedies. I’ve been on the full GAPS minus milk products because of my overgrowth of candida. I have it in my scalp, on my face and a vag. yeast infection. Can wait for more on systemic candida. What about men? I’m pretty sure my husband and I are sharing it back and forth. He has no symptoms, but wants to be treated. Thank you!
Thank you for this topic. Are these remedies the same if someone is not having vaginal symptoms, but yeast breakout in the armpit? Lotrimin cream has been the only thing that works in this case.
Thank you!
I’m afraid I don’t concur. Homeopathy is the only thing that works in these cases. Lotrimin suppresses and drives the problem deeper. I plan to write further on the subject of yeast so watch your inbox.
Please, please, please give a protocol for thrush! I’ve tried everything else and can’t find anything that will eliminate it. I know homeopathy can!
Thank you, Joette, for this information!
Two questions: If you don’t have the remedy on hand in the potency suggested–say you don’t have it in 200C–but you do have it in another potency–say 30C–should you take the remedy anyway? If so, should you make any adjustment for the different potency?
LInda
The potencies I teach are based on the Banerji’s and my experience. If there is an emergency, and you didn’t have the correct potency, it would make sense to use what you’ve got. IF its not emergent, then why tinker with success?…particularly since homeopathics are such a bargain.
Oh,Joette, we sing yr praises! Add me to the list of folks wanting to know how to remedy digestive candida overgrowth… my gut and I will be grateful.
What do the numbers reference (as in 200c)? So far in my town, I have found 30c and 6c and I am wondering if they will offer the same help as the 200c. Looking forward to giving it a try! Thank you for this great information!
Sorry, I see you’ve already answered it (essentially) above. I didn’t refresh my page before asking my question. Thank you!
One of the best ways to insure that you have a good choice of remedies on hand is to own a homeopathy kit. In the long run, they are a super bargain. Then you needn’t scramble to find what you need.
Hi mrs joette,i will try your prescription for candida,
Did you try antimonium.crudum
Yes, Antimonium crude is also a good choice, particularly if the infection is itchy.
I wanted to know what is the recommended concentration for the Antimonium crude. I have vaginal yeast infection that is extremely itchy, red spots and white sores. I have 5 years of recurring, I have been using antifungal and antiobiotics indicated by gynecologists, they work for a short time and then the symptoms comes back again. Please help!
The potency (or concentration) is in the article. It’s the number and letter after each remedy name.
Thanks Joette!
Can men use the same remedies? My husband wants to be treated since I have candida, but he shows no symptoms.
I don’t believe that someone should be treated who is not sick. But more importantly, everyone has candida. It is naturally in all of us. The problem arises when it has overpopulated, which is what happens after antibiotic use, birth control pills and the like.
Hi Joette. I’d love to see a post on treating bacterial vaginosis. I have had it for quite a while and nothing seems to budge it. Resorted to hydrogen peroxide and it took the symptoms away for a short period of time but they quickly returned. I’ve wanted to have a consultation with you but I haven’t heard back through your website.
Anyway, a post on that would be much appreciated 🙂
I used to be plaqued with UTI’s and yeast infections. The anti-biotics quit working. I started using colloidal silver along with acidophilus with very good results. As I have become further knowledgeable in my homeopathy journey, I have sinced discovered that my fresh dandelion tea decoction completely eliminates it altogether. In fact, dandelion tea has kept me virtually without sickness of any kind for the past 3 years or so. I make my own and consume it daily. One of the most beneficial plants I’ve ever come across. I’m actually going to plant my own crop of dandelion this coming spring so that I have healthier plants altogether.
I have utis and yeast infections as well.
Where do you buy your dandelion tea?
Is it pregnancy safe?
Lotrimine is not working for my current yeast infection and I am needing to find something pregnancy be safe.
A friend told me about colodial silver? Not sure on that spelling but I think after your review I am going to try these remedies.
This is a forum for the learning of homeopathy; not holistic methods.
I just got my mercurius solubilis 200ck today and am unsure of the dosage. You said once a day. Does that mean 1 pellet once a day. The dosage on the bottle is 5 pellets 3 times a day. Thanks so much!
The outside of the bottle always gives instructions as to how many pills are equal to a dose. Depending on the manufacturing pharmacy, the number could be anywhere from 1-6.
Joette, do you sell these remedies or know where they can be ordered? Also, the same for a homeopathic kit that you mentioned. Many thanks!
Hi Debbie, you may purchase the individual remedies by clicking on the name of each remedy in the blog article. If you’re interested in a kit (a bargain in the long run) pls feel free to contact my office, M-S 8:30-5 EST and we can send one out to you.
Hi Joette,
Thank you for sharing this great information! When you say to take Mercurius solubilis 200C once a day how many pellets do you recommend taking or is it just one pellet a day? Same question for the Arsenicum album 200C and the additional remedies you mentioned that some people might need to add on?
Thanks again!
Kristen
A dose of a remedy is what is written on the bottle.
I wouldnt take a daily dose of merc.sol. Sensible patients can easily slip into a proving. i know it from experience. still have an inflammation in the jaw after 3 doses of mer.sol.
Provings occur only when the remedy is not needed, which is why we say to stop using it once wellness sets in. If an inflammation remains after 3 doses(assuming the remedy is correct), it means more doses are needed.
Hi Joette!
I had the pleasure of talking to you the other day. I have been reading your blog non stop since then. Would this protocol also work for recurring UTI’s? I get them a lot! Right now though it’s more pressure and discomfort in my bladder with urgency to pee but no pain. It seems to flare up if I have the slightest bit of sugar, but I drink kefir like it’s going out of style. Wondering if I should take the Mercurius or Sepia or something else all together, thank you so much for all you do. I am looking into homeopathy schooling now after being so inspired:)
I’m delighted that you are inspired and I certainly remember our conversation on the phone. Should you be interested in formal education, I can recommend schools for you as I am and have been on the faculty of two of the most prominent homeopathy schools in the U.S.
I’m sorry, but the protocol here is for vaginal yeast not bladder or UT conditions, even though the cause may be the same, the remedies act differently in different organs. This is something that would require my taking the case.
Greetings Joette,
I wanted to ask if any of these remedies would work for a 9 year-old boy. My son has type-1 diabetes and candida/fungal infections are a problem. He was diagnosed with this fungal infection a couple of years ago and suffers from painful urination and an itchy bottom. It’s not always painful, but can flare up at any time and is miserable! Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! Jessica
Hi Jessica, Homeopathy has a history of being able to address issues such as what your son is suffering. Should you be interested in speaking to me regarding some ideas, you may contact my office to set up a free conversation to see if homeopathy is a fit for you .
Hi again Joette,
I tried to set up a free conversation, however since I spoke to you several months ago regarding sinuses, this would have to be a consultation. I gave the merc sol to my son for about 10 days in April. Itching and painful urination has flared up recently. I’m trying to decide if I should try merc sol again for a longer period of time or if I should try the arsenicum album. Since this is for a little boy I understand how the protocols might be different. I used the merc sol for myself and it worked! Thanks, Jessica
I’m so sorry Jessica, but I’d have to take the case to be able to answer your questions specifically. Remedies and protocols used for children are the same for adults and vice versa but the condition is completely different, so the medicine would also be.
Hi Joette, this is such a helpful article! Would you say the Merc Sol is best used for some with reoccurring yeast infections? Or is it also a good option for someone with the occasional infection (for example yeast infection followed by use of antibiotics)? I am just wondering if this is a remedy best used for more of a chronic issue as compared to an acute issue?
The protocol doesn’t distinguish between chronic and acute. It can be used in either situation.
Ok, thank you so much!
Thank you for this post. In the past 2 yrs of learning and using remedies, yeast infection is the only one that I have resorted to drugs after a week. Last time I tried Merc sol for a week and got worse daily, this time I will try the Ars album, and maybe try a different one if it is not improving after a few days. Thank you for your blogs!
Thank you for this post. Vaginal yeast infection is the one issue I have in the past resorted to drugs. My boys and I have not used any medication but homeopathic remedies in 2015! So now I have the yeast infection again. Last year I tried Merc sol for a week before I gave up. This time I am trying the Ars alb, after 20 hrs it is mildly worse than yesterday but not as worse as if I had done nothing. I am looking forward to finding the remedy that works for me!
Why would you give up after 1 week? It took years to get to the chronic state you’re presently in and it often takes many weeks for it to clear.
Well, I gave up because I was getting worse every day and did not know when or how or have the resolve to try another remedy. But – this time using the Ars album I am now very much better! Day 2 was the worst with moderate itching/swelling/discharge. After that each day was either minimally better or the same. After a week I wasn’t sure if I should try a different remedy or keep with the same, but since I wasn’t getting worse I decided to keep with the same. I am still taking it periodically when I feel a bit itchy, but not regularly like last week. Thank you for your encouragement and teaching, I continue to learn from them.
‘Happy to hear of your improvement.
Would this also work for a baby with a yeast diaper rash?
No, it depends on the location of the yeast. Vaginal, skin, mouth, systemic all require different protocols. But I plan to write on the diaper rash soon. Thanks for the reminder.
Thanks!
Mrs. Calabrese,
Would you be so kind as to write about yeast diaper rash? It would be wonderful to glean from your wisdom on this issue.
Thank you!!
I cover this extensively in my online course Skin; the Ugly Truth.
Is the Banerji Protocol and others listed safe to take while pregnant?
Homeopathy is historically safe during pregnancy and I have found it to be even more valuable during that time, since we can treat 2 simultaneously. Having said this, there are certain homeopathics that need to be avoided during pregnancy that if used too frequently can cause trouble. The medicines in this article are not those included in the list.
Fascinating. I hadn’t heard some were not safe during pregnancy — would you write an anrticle expounding upon those? Also, is the list the same for newborns/infants.
Please remember that homeopathy is medicine and with that comes the responsibility to use it with respect.
As for newborns, as long as the remedies are used correctly and reasonably, homeopathy is relatively safe.
Thanks Joette,
I am a homeopath and in my first year of practice. A client presents recurrent candida infections with the sensation of constriction in the vagina and the pressure force going upwards as she says together with the constriction in her head too. Antibiotic use triggers this. She takes about 3 table spoon so yogurt daily but it does not help. What are your thoughts and advice?
It sounds to me that the sensations in the head, etc. are drug side effects and are not worthy of repertorization. Instead, I like to use the Banerji protocol that calls for Merc. sol because it covers 80% of all of these cases. That is, unless one of the others fits the description more closely.
Today many women consume medicines to cure from menstrual pain without consulting with the doctor, which can be dangerous for the health. As stated in the above blog that one cause could be vaginal fungus. The vaginal diseases can also be caused by improper menstrual protections. It is better to consume proper medication and protection by consulting with the doctor.
http://www.cupissima.com
Women have become suspicious of the drugs that doctors prescribe because drug fundamentalism is rampant in the medical community. That’s what this blog is about; minimizing the use of drugs…in fact eliminating them.
Other than anesthesia for truly needed surgery, I can barely think if a drug that is “proper”.
Hi Joette, did you ever write on diaper rash? I’m looking for help with a yeast diaper rash that my newborn had, which also seems to be presenting on his upper chest and arms. I read in your comments above that the Merc Sol is for vaginal yeast, but in the GGBG notes, Merc Sol is also listed for fungal patches (I’m assuming of the skin?). I really want to resolve this before it moves into thrush.
Hi Jackie, I’m writing today on Joette’s behalf. She’s taking the day off. She has told me that she plans to write a more extensive article on diaper rash, but in looking on the blog, I found this http://joettecalabrese.com/blog/hold-it-dont-use-that-stuff-on-the-babys-skin/.
It is only one story of diaper rash without a full protocol, but you might find it useful. It will also take you to a course that Joette offers called “Skin, The Ugly Truth” that you be interested in.
I hope this helps.
Best, Lisa (Joette’s assistant)
Clarification please?…….. Does a yeast infection if not properly eliminated turn into a UTI? And if so does one have to treat both? I constantly am fighting UTIs. I believe I am being infected with yeast through intercourse with my husband. So would it be wise to have him take merc. sol, also? Or is there a better remedy for men?
Yeast and bacteria are different microorganisms. However, it stands to reason that an imbalance of one or the the other can cause an aggravation of the other.
Should you be interested, you might want to check out the course I offer called Feminopathy where I address UTI’s and yeast infections with specific homeopathic protocols.
It is never wise to use homeopathy as a just- in-case-measure.If your husband is not sick, he should not take a remedy. Homeopathy is medicine and needs to be used specifically and judiciously.
Hi Joette. Thank you for this information. I am in my 4th pregnancy, and once again I have a yeast infection, as I did in all the others. I have been taking the Merc Sol for about 3 weeks along with probiotics and (naturally sourced) vitamin C (at the rec of my midwife, to help prevent GBS as well as fight yeast). Before I began the remedy, the infection was noticeable by its discharge but it wasn’t really bothering me. I just wanted to treat it so that the baby won’t be exposed at birth. Now it has become very itchy, discharge is more profuse, and here in the cold winter I’m finding that when I wear particularly thick, warm pants it becomes very bothersome – it feels like it is burning at times and I have gotten some very painful spots on the vulva. At this point, does it make sense to try the Arsenicum A instead? I wasn’t sure how long I should give the first remedy, but it has been 3 weeks now. I should add that I follow a Weston Price-inspired diet (raw Jersey and Guernsey milk, homemade broth, homemade yogurt, homemade sourdough einkorn bread as well as fresh fruits and veggies and locally sourced pastured meat; the only refined sugar I take in is in occasional squares of very dark (70%-90%) chocolate, although I have even cut that out in the last week and just been allowing myself honey and maple syrup in very small amounts).
I am unable to take your case on this forum, but I can tell you that if a chronic condition worsens after using a homeopathic protocol for a few weeks, its always best to stop using it and move on to the next most closely represented remedy. That is, choose the remedy that is most aligned with your symptoms and begin again.
Can I give this to my pet, she has yeast, only in her right ear? Thanks!
Your little girl’s ears are different than her girly-parts, so its a different condition all together.
Ya, I didn’t think it was a match…I’ll look at Sulphur
Thanks!
The second protocol is not listed in the Banerji book. Was this updated since the book was printed? The person I know that has the problem definitely has the itching, etc so the second one is more applicable.
The information I offer on my blog is based on my professional experience as well as the observations I made while working at the Prasanta Banerji Homeopathic Research Foundation. Protocols, not unlike human conditions are organic and there are many ways to approach the same condition.
I am confused now more than ever. In your feminopathy course for vaginal yeast you say to use mercurius solubilis AND arsenicum album 200c. Here its says to use mercurius OR arsenicum. In the second recording of feminopathy someone asks about system fungus (I am not sure there is a difference) and they have acne and they are using hepar sulph 200c 2D. Would any of these combinations work? is that the point? My daughter has a very small amount of acne but she has the vaginal yeast problem with itching and has had it ongoing for a couple years. It goes away and comes back.
Both are correct, but Arsencium album is more specific for itching.
I’m afraid I don’t know what is meant by system fungus.
HS is specific for acne.
Thank you. You answer a question in recording number 2 (of feminopathy). Right after you talk about vaginal yeast infection, Someone asks if they have systemic fungus and acne if taking hepar sulph 200c 2D is the right protocol. You say yes.
Up at the top is says to give the protocol a few weeks before noticing improvement. Closer to the bottom it says you should notice improvement in a week but you might have to take it 3 to 5 months to keep it in check. So which do you use to determine. If it’s been taken for two and a half weeks and no notice of change, do you keep taking it? She is taking arsenicum 200c 2D and her symptoms are always noticeably uncomfortable at certain times of the month. She is 23 and no children.
Hi Joette, is mercurius vivus the same as mercurius sol? I only have mercurius vivus 30 in my cabinet right now & wondering if it would be worth a try for a yeast infection…Thank you!
They’re not exactly the same but so close that most homeopaths use them interchangeably.
Thank you! I’ll give it a try.
Hello Joelle, I’m currently dealing with a yeast infection. All I was able to find was Mercurius solubilis 30 C. Is that an ok dosage or do you think it’ll be too high?
It will likely act but its always best to use the protocol that I publish. Check out Amazon.
HI Joette,
My almost 2 year old has thrush in her mouth, what would I give her?
I’m not comfortable giving advise in this fashion without either taking the case or fleshing out specifics in an article. Too many mistakes can be made.
An after-thought: But I will consider writing on this subject in the future.
Whether trying Calc Carb or Sepia for yeast, does one stop as soon as one symptom is gone or all symptoms are gone? Thank you
When the condition is over, the symptoms are gone. That’s when we stop the medicine.
Hi Joette, if two treatments seem to apply can we use both? like Kreosotum 30C for the violent itching and sepia 30c because this sounds like a good fit too. and how often? 1x a day or twice a day?
You may use 2 but its rather sloppy. I prefer to use one and give it a good try for over a few months, if needed. Then if it doesn’t act at all, go to the 2nd one. I like using these particular rems, twice daily.
Arsenicum album says 200C but the link takes you to the amazon page for the 200CK
They are one in the same.
Thanks for this information. I have yeast infection and curd like discharge. Now my digestive system is being disturbed. Pain and bloating. Can you please tell me which remedy to use
I take Sanicula 30C when My drainage smells like a dead fish, always works for me but be never taken for a length of time. Thing is, I don’t know if this is a yeast infection or a bacterial infection. I’m just learning I can take for a few weeks for chronic conditions.
Can this remedy be used on a child with a yeast rash around the anus?
I actually believe the blog I’ll be posting this Sunday night will cover this condition, as long as there’s itching.
Joette, your readers desperately waiting for advice regarding systemic candida may be interested in a 8 page PDF written by a UK Practitioner Mary-Jane Sharratt. www1.a-r-h.org/Publications/Journal/sampleArts/Mary-Jane%20Sharratt.pdf, I happened to find this last night after re reading this blog. My daughter has a candida overgrowth issue which presents mostly with other symptoms and only spasmodically with vaginal symptoms (as it is now). This article may help your readers till you have been able to write the articles on other forms of yeast overgrowth.
There should be no desperation in learning how to uproot candida overgrowth since I cover it fully in my course, Good Gut Bad Gut. By declaring (assuming)that overgrowth of yeast is the culprit, the solution is often missed. Instead, I teach that by using the symptoms such as bloating or eructations or even a conventional diagnosis such as GERD or colitis, and applying the specific homeopathic protocol it generally uproots the problem…etiology and all. This means that regardless of the cause, it is corrected. I personally spent years running down yeast overgrowth rabbit holes until I learned to recognize this simpler, more scientific method. This is how I teach my clients and students.
Joette, my sister has a copper IUD she is open to getting it removed by her doctor as I believe it isn’t idea. But the truth is I have zero knowledge about copper IUD’s. Since I am my families health provider, helping select homeopathic remedies for them to use, I am gathering all I can on coper IUD’s so we can talk more about it at our next session. Any info specific to the “challenges” of copper IUD’s you’d be willing to share I would be very grateful.
Hi Joette, my wife got yeast infection she got issues such as pain, gas, bloating, constipation, itching in the skin, ears, vagina and rectum; skin problems such as acne and eczema, reproductive problems such as painful menstruation, infertility and low libido; and even mood changes, such as anxiety, depression, mood swings and difficulty focusing and high pain while holding urine and going to toilet please kindly let me know the medication? is Calc Carb or Sepia for yeast good and currently I give her Bryonia Alba 30 I would be very thankful if you please prescribe medication, thank you!
thanks for your suggestion. please tell me the dose of Calcarea Carbonica 30c.
By dose, if you mean how many pills, it’s printed on the side of the bottle.
Dear Joette, can I use Arsenicum Album Or Calcarea Carbonica while breastfeeding a seven months old baby?
I used both those remedies during my nursing years and did not worry. Remember, this is homeopathy, not synthetic drugs. Just use them judiciously.
Ok, thank for your answer. Which one should I start with?
My candida is systemic not specific to female areas. Same remedies?
No, when its systemic, the symptoms need to be used to determine the condition. Usually it means the GI is involved.
My female 4month old puppy has yeast infection in her ears. Very itchy. Would Ars Alb 200c 2D be a good choice? Have you written about this somewhere else by any chance? Gratefully. Seeme
I had recurring thrush that would go during a period, but return. I tried Merc sol followed by Calc carb, neither helped. But then I took Pulsatilla & it improved overnight! By this point, id had it for 3 months, so I’m so relieved I’ve found the right remedy
Tenacity is what this is all about. Fine job, Annabel!
Can I take more than one? I’m just about desperate to stop the twice per month infections I have been experiencing for a long time and it just keeps coming back.
Its always better if you can tighten up on your decision and choose one, give it time to act and if it doesn’t in a few weeks, move to the next.
I have not had vaginal yeast in st least 5-6 years. I suspect vaginal yeast now. Not severe. Only burning with urination and some mild irritation .Would the remedy mentioned above still be the one to try. You mentioned if it was recurrent then that would be the protocol and use it for many months. Even if all symptoms are gone you would continue for 3-5 months?
If symptoms no longer exist after treatment, there is no need to carry on unless they return again and again. Not having the condition after 5 years is not what I’d call chronic.
Thank you. Do you ever discuss in any of your courses using Candida albicans form Boiron? I am signed up for the Gateway to Homepoathy course but do not have a group together yet. I want to start the course but I don’t seem to be able to get any ladies come on board with me.
Is it ok to continue taking Medorrhinum for finishing UTI protocol while starting remedy (ies) in article for yeast – ok to take medorrhinum along with article remedies?
We often use 2 remedies intercurrently and Medorrhinum is no exception.
I often thought I had yeast infections and treated them with over the counter remedies. However, in the end, I concluded I was having allergic reactions to spermicides I was using for birth control.
Hence the importance of a correct diagnosis.
Thank you for that useful information! I have Mercurius Solibilis 30c or Mercurius vivus 200c. Can one of them be used in place of the Mercurius solibilis 200c?
I have used MS and MV interchangeably, but not usually the potencies.
Since I am prone to acne and have HSVII, I have been taking Nat mur 30C for my vaginal yeast infection. Consistently for 2 wks at least I have taken it, twice a day. The relief has been minimal. Im still itching to bleeding way too often, burning at times and sex is burning during and afterwards. I keep thinking Im getting better and then Im NOT. He has no yeast symptoms so I didn’t have him take any. Arent I just passing it back and forth? How could he not have it? He has allergies and skin issues himself, so hes definitely prone. Or do I need to just use the Arsenicum album or even Kreosotum? Violent itching it certainly is.
Im longing to go get the antifungal cream #yikes #ouch
Would this work on a,man who has been diagnosed with very bad yeast infection, and no Dr medicines are working…he got it orginally from his wife, she no longer has it but his continues, months.
Most of the medicines we use are organ-specific, not micro-organism specific.
Hi Joette, where can I find homeopathic information, on your site, for treating a bad yeast infection on the penis?
I don’t have information on the blog, but its covered in my course, Skin; The Ugly Truth.
Do you have any information for systemic candida that shows up in other areas such as the breasts – stabbing pains, itching, yeast in nipples and thrush with a nursing baby??? I’ve taken your classes (even GGBG) and use homeopathy and love it but can’t find any real help for this issue. I’ve had it with both my boys despite eating a good clean diet, etc. I would SO SO appreciate if you could address this in a blog post!
We generally don’t treat candida as one whole condition the way naturopathy does. Instead, we determine the medicine based on the organ that is affected. So for candida of the mouth, we use a remedy that covers thrush in the mouth which is covered in GGBG, while if on the skin, my course, Skin the Ugly Truth covers this.
If you recall in the GGBG course, eating the perfect diet does not protect from getting such conditions.
I need help with thrush in breast…
Hello, what should be the remedy for itching Vagina with whited discharge. The sexual activity is often painful with burning after the act.
I cover these conditions in my course Feminopathy that you may find on my site under “courses” should you be interested.
Joette, have you written anything on BV (bacterial vaginitis) or does the Banerji Protocol on page 129 Vaginitis, Cervicitis cover BV? I don’t see bacterial mentioned. (Banerji Protocol Book).
I see this question about BV several times but no reply? Can you please give a protocol.
Can I take Mercurius solubilis 200C while Im breastfeeding? Or rather any of them you suggested while breastfeeding?
Is the protocol mercurious sol. the same for thrush? My 67 year old sister got from antibiotic use. And I want to suggest to her. Thanks!!
It’s not the same. Most of the homeopathic medicines I teach are organ-specific.
Is the protocol Mercurius solubilis 200C the same for thrush? My sis got it from antibiotic treatment. She’s 67 and I want to recommend she try once day for couple weeks. thanks julia
Are these safe to take while breastfeeding?
What is recommended systemically for candida galbrata vaginal infection? I can’t insert anything g so look for someone by mouth and systemic.
Read the article carefully. The information you’re looking for is there.
Since taking 2 antibiotics for lingering uti symptoms that didn’t work back in a March 2019, my tongue is a pretty constant white. Would Merc Sol 200c work for turning my tongue back to its normal color?
If the cause of the white tongue is yeast, it may be indicated.
Hi there, are these homeopathic remedies safe to take during first trimester?
Sorry if questionalready asked I couldn’t see it when I scrolled comments.
Thanks
Hello Joette,
I have had a yeast infection for a month now.
Can I take Mercurius Solubilis 200 once a day along with Arsenicum album 200 twice a day?
Thank you
If you’re asking me whether homeopathic medicines can be used after a condition is a month old, the answer is certainly!
Thank you. Can I take Mercurius Solubilis 200C and Arsenicum 200C at the same time for this yeast infection? If so, do I take them at the same time or 10 minutes apart?
If you want to know which is the best choice, read each in-depth in your materia medica. It will help you understand the depth and breadth of the medicines.
I m suffering from oral candidiasis which is ars alb 200 good?
What is the recomended dosage for Mercurius Solubilis 200C when taken once a day ?
Thank you 🙂
If you’re asking me how many pills comprise a dose, read the side of the bottle. Each pharmacy has a different number depending on the size of the pills.
Hi, can someone assist to resolve the leucorrhea problem after short menses 2-3 days for 34 years lady.
Joette, I have pregnancy vagina trush for 3 months, tried clotrimazole pessarries twice, they helped but did not get rid of the trush.
Which treatment would you recommend please?
I never had trush before.
Thank you,
Anna
I assume you’re saying thrush. Thrush is the same as yeast and its discussed fully in this article.
Yes, I meant yeast for 3 months, treated twice with vaginal pessary.
I will reread the article.
I just wanted to confirm that I think properly.
Thank you.
Anna
Hi Joette!
I am looking for a protocol for thrush on the nipples/nursing. Possibly passed on to the baby. I have a few of your courses, but don’t know if this falls under another name. I read in the comments you were going to write a blog about this. Is there a blog I can read? I also have a few courses, but don’t remember if this protocol is in any of them. Thanks 🙂
I believe that skin yeast infections are found in my course, Skin the Ugly Truth as well as Feminopathy.
Can any of these be used for Lichens Sclerosus? I noticed Kreosotum is for violent itching. Is one of the others better? (Lichens Planus also)Oxalates make it worse.
LS is a complex condition that requires an indepth understanding of homeopathy. Having said this, I cover it in my online course titled Feminopathy and when it’s evident that a certain food aggravates it, you might find that my course titled Good Gut Bad Gut covers food intollerances.
My one year old girl has been having vaginally yeast and complaining of an itchy bottom, but also now has a patch of itchy ring worm along her jaw line. Interesting that protocol for both of these issues is basically the same.
I’m about to get what we need from the health food store and I’m hoping for a big improvement for her.
My husband has had several medical issues this past year…a below the knee amputation, Covid and going on a ventilator right after…but the UTI turned yeast infection is now reeking havoc… do you recommend the same treatment??
This protocol is specific for yeast infections, not UTI’s.
Dear Joette, I’m following your recommendations for Yeast Infection with Arsenicum Album 200c- initial milky discharge, intermittant burning/itch along with pain in lower abdomin. All symptoms subsided upon first dose – not bad following day, however I’m beginning to notice intermittent lower abdominal pain/bloating return (along with tenderness on both sides over the ovaries)….is it too soon to consider a change to either Mercurius solubilis 200C or the Calcarea Carbonica 30C?
No discharge. (not yet anyway)
Infection occured after 4 day course of Amoxycillin for abscess tooth – had I known there was a homeopathic alternative I would have taken it!! This has set the healing journey of my gut and emotional health back at least 3 years – with much money having been spent to clean up SIBO – I’m devastated.
May be contacting you for a consult
The best way to know how to pivot is to study my online courses. The one that I’d recommend for you is Good GUt Bad Gut.
https://joettecalabrese.com/joette-explains-good-gut-bad-gut-in-short/
PS addendum to previous note – milky discharge was scant (not profuse) which is why I did not initially go with the Calcarea Carbonica – discharge immediately cleared with Arsenicum – still none today. Very tired, dizzyness today after hot bath – (on fairly strict no carb diet for 3 ddays now – loads vegies, no fruit or starches of any kind)
I don’t see your question.
Joette, Yes, it’s 2:00 AM. up all night.
I am having a terrible reaction to the Arsenicum Album. When lying down to sleep, my whole body is shaking (tremors) uncontrollably – convulsively. (took 5th dose @ 6:00 PM)
At 71 years old and under 100 lbs., I don’t have the strength or the means to plow through the Good Gut/Bad Gut course to find my remedy, as interesting and appealing as it looks. I had submitted a request for a consult – (almost positive it will be too expensive, but I’m desperate) I am looking in my area for a Homeopath – had briefly worked with one in 2020 – traditional Hahnemann (Organon). You work differently.
I need to know how to handle the Arsenicum..I understand the concept of aggravation. The symptom described yesterday in my previous post, of increased lower abdominal pain & pressure over the ovaries, might have been just that. (Or is it a proving? – new at this) But the convulsive shaking…..
Speaking of yourself you mention “I generally use the Banerji Protocols that doesn’t utilize one medicine in a high dose” 3/7/17 – “Stop it-How to Antidote a Bad Drug Reaction” Yet, this is what I’m doing with the Arsenicum Album 200Ck. Should I try to find the Camphor 200 somewhere to stop the shaking? I need to sleep.
3:30 AM Will try lying down once more to see if I can sleep. (keeping post open to report later)
7:50 AM was able to sleep – I must say that in between the ‘disturbing effects’ I have a nice sense of well-being, am peaceful and relatively symptom free. I am a bit worn out, having had only a few hours of sleep. Shaking has stopped but really feel worn out – like I’ve been through a war.
I skipped my morning dose and will probably stop this remedy.
Please comment Joette….and thank you!
I urge you to indeed work with a homeopath. Find one online instead of in your neighborhood.
As an important aside, as a matter of practice, we always halt the use of a medicine that causes problems.
continuation of previous post…
2:40 PM – still feeling emotionally refreshed, no Vaginal yeast infection symptoms, had well-nourishing brunch, pleasant walk;
heart rate is a bit high, somewhat over stimulated. Deep down tired. Afraid that if I let go and sleep, shaking might start again. The shaking/tremors hold specific psychological meaning for me – flashbacks to periods during early and late adolescent development and young adulthood when I felt powerless and abused.
Though deeply tired, there is a quality of peace, lightness and release. Will spend the rest of the afternoon resting in the warm October sun, quietly, restoratively. Hopefully i will sleep undisturbed tonight – but from the way I’m feeling, I’m trusting that this remedy might have been OK (Will compare later in Meteria Medica the descriptions of the other remedies you listed – never thought to do that at the outset – not interested in the Camphor 200 at this point, nor in dosing again – unless, Joette, you comment differently.
We’ll see what the next few days bring.
…sorry Joette, submitted last post before reading your comment. Any reason why you recommend an on-line homeopath vs. in person? (easier scheduling & less pricey?)….can you recommend one – (a little scarey searching without a lead) Perhaps both my treating Naturopaths can recommend
Thank you – I have an appointment with my former homeopathic doctor (18+ years as clinical professor @ local university School of Naturopathy, holding Doctorate in Homeopathy, licensed board cert Naturopath with specialties in gynecology (treating common gynecological ailments using alternative treatments) – She knows me and collaborates with my Naturopaths at the University. I’m in good hands! Thanks again Joette! (still feeling pretty good – hope this lasts)
Can homeopathy cure recurring yeast infection ?
Why not?
It’s the best medicine on God’s green earth.
And when you find that it does, report back to me.
I never tire of hearing of success.
Joette, let’s say you’ve had an on going yeast infection for years find the right remedy and start taking it… it starts to change.. the symptoms that is.. do I move on to a new remedy or is this my body healing?? The specifics:I for almost all 9 months of my pregnancy had some kind of yeast going on I hadn’t been on an antibiotic in 4 year! A huge feat for me!! However we had a wedding out of state and my midwife and I agreed since so also developed BV at the same time the risk of preterm labor 36 hours away from home was not a good idea (with 5 kids in tow) So I took the dreaded antibiotic took care of the infections but they came back with a vengeance here at 4 months PP. I’m so grateful for you and your blog and books! I started on Arsnicum it was an exact match (funny of there’s a choice ARS usually is a fit) I’ve been on it a week and only have a tinge of a symptom left !!!!!( discharge) So again my question do I need to change the remedy or am I close to completion??? Hooray for Homeopathy!!!
When a homeopathic medicine acts to consider moving to another one is not the best good move. I urge you to consider my online course titled Feminopathy so that you can feel confident making decisions to stay clear of antibiotics in the future. And learn to address many female conditions.
You’ll find it here https://membership.joettecalabrese.com/feminopathy-info/
I have several I want to take and all are prevelant. But the good gut bad gut is the most urgent as myself and all my kids have gut issues can only eat the nourishing traditions way of soaked or sprouted grains… etc. my question is how do I get the most bang for my buck. Is it more cost effective to become a mighty member first, or I read somewhere on here that if you sign up for one course the next you could get on a discount… I have several that I need to take and want the most cost effective way! Thanks for directing me!
Join one of my Gateway to Homeopathy study groups. (Find this on the front page of my site.)
Once you’re a member there are group buys that offer you substantial discounts on the courses.
I’m in my first trimester and my recent lab work showed yeast in the urine sample. My midwife wants me on an OTC yeast infection treatment. I would much prefer to use homeopathy, but I don’t actually have any symptoms of a yeast infection. I don’t like to use homeopathy when I don’t have any symptoms, but I don’t want to be on the OTC treatment either! I would be grateful to hear your thoughts on this Joette. I’m so thankful for all the information you share!
Can I take Arsenicum Album for the itching while also taking Merc Sol? Or do I stop the Merc Sol and try Arsenicum? Does Merc Sol help with mild itching? Sometimes the itching is mild and other times its pretty severe. Thank you for you time and knowledge!
I’m sorry but without fully taking your case, I can’t comment.
When you consider taking one medicine over another, i urge you to read your materia medica on both rems and differentiate from there.
Having said this, two rems taken on the same day is not in of itself a problem as long as they’re well chosen.
