Isn’t it annoying to attempt to use a rubber band that has lost its proper elasticity?
If it stretches too much, it won’t offer enough support. Conversely, a rubber band becomes utterly worthless if it can no longer stretch enough and snaps.
The same issues with elasticity can occur within our bodies!
Just like a rubber band, we humans need to have the perfect balance of stretchiness. If we stretch too far, we have one set of problems; if we don’t stretch enough, we have another set of issues entirely.
Malfunctioning rubber bands can just be thrown away.
But, luckily for us humans, (and animals as well), one cell salt can address issues at both ends of the elasticity spectrum: Calc fluor.
Too much elasticity causing saggy skin? Calc fluor. Too little elasticity causing cracking skin, chipping teeth or chipping nails? Calc fluor.
It’s an excellent medicine for women who are pregnant or have given birth. It immediately (and rather obviously) comes to mind as a remedy for stretch marks.
Think about it.
You get pregnant, and your breasts enlarge. After breastfeeding, they reduce.
You get pregnant again … they expand again … they diminish again … in … out … in … out. Their elasticity can eventually be lost entirely. After having a family, you may look in the mirror and feel as though your breasts belong on the pages of National Geographic!
Calc fluor is customarily taken twice a day until the condition is very much better. Generally, we use Calc fluor in a 12X, but the easily obtainable Calc fluor 6X from Hyland's works as well.
And again, the beauty of this medicine is someone can — at the same time — be experiencing a condition from both ends of the elasticity pole (too much or too little elasticity), and Calc fluor will address both conditions!
How tidy is that?
One other indication of a person’s need for Calc fluor is joints that easily pop out of their sockets.
I have personal experience in this department…although it’s a rather embarrassing story. (So, you won’t tell anyone, right?)
I was dressing one of my sons when he was about 14-months-old — as I did every morning. I pulled a sweater over his head and reached my hand up through the sweater’s little sleeve to pull his arm through.
I didn’t yank.
I just lightly pulled his arm, as usual. Well, he started screaming! And I do mean screaming! He was in obvious pain.
My husband rushed in, figured out that my son’s shoulder had popped out of the socket, and, luckily, was able to put it back in place.
For the moment, the world went back to normal.
Then about eight months later, in another highly awkward moment, I fell on my son — right on that same shoulder.
Well, his little shoulder popped out of the socket yet again. Of course, this time I was more prepared to deal with it and immediately put it back in its proper position.
But, I realized after this second event something was off with my son’s elasticity. So, what did I turn to?
Yes, right. Calc fluor.
And it worked! My son is now 30 years old, and his shoulder no longer pops out of joint, in spite of his daily workouts. (Although, maybe it’s no coincidence that I’m not dressing him every morning and pulling his arms through his sweaters nor falling all over him!)
So, whatever the issue with elasticity — whether too much or too little — think Calc fluor. It is a marvelously flexible remedy (pardon the pun).

Warmly,
P.S. If it’s more and more of my tips and tricks that you seek, I have produced a CD/digital download entitled, Cell Salts; The Easy Homeopathy™ to help you get a firm grasp on these surprisingly effective remedies.
Because there are only twelve of them, they are much easier to get started with than an entire materia medica. Plus, I utilize the same system to teach you that I used myself when memorizing over 300 remedies for my certification exams. It works!

I am a homeopath with a worldwide practice working with families and individuals via Zoom. I'm also a teacher and most importantly, a mom who raised my now-adult children depending on homeopathy over the last 31 years. I lived decades of my life with food intolerances, allergies, and chemical sensitivities until I was cured with homeopathy, so I understand pain, anxiety, and suffering. You may feel that your issues are more severe or different than anyone else’s, but I have seen it all in my practice and in my work in India. My opinion is that nothing has come close to the reproducible, safe and effective results that my clients, students and I have achieved with homeopathy.
Call today and learn how homeopathy might just be the missing piece in your health strategy.

It is fully the client's choice whether or not to take advantage of the information Joette presents. Homeopathy doesn't "treat" an illness; it addresses the entire person as a matter of wholeness that is an educational process, not a medical one. Joette believes that the advice and diagnosis of a physician is often in order.

Thanks for the lessons….so can this cell salt help keep aging skin tighter??
The best way to look at this is if the skin is aging poorly or prematurely, then a medicine such as CF can certainly be considered.
Thank you, Joette! I’m using Calc fluor at the moment for my receding gums, but have noticed its benefits elsewhere as well! I learned about Calc fluor and receding gums from your Materia Medica, which I love!
Could this be effective for pelvic floor dysfunction? Namely, a pelvic floor that is rock solid and very tight? The muscles do not move when a deep breath is taken in, and tampons and pelvic exams are excruciating.
There are other, better chosen homeopathic medicines for this condition.
Awesome!! Does this aid in general flexibility as well? (Muscular/fascial)
I’m using Calc Fluor and Silicea both for weakened Eyesight. It helps me!
Thank you, Joette! I was not aware of the effects of elasticity so far. And CF, a tissue salt helpful to pregnant women and also to reduce the weight. This will be useful to prescribe for those who are looking for the remedy for above given cause. Thank you.
Can this be used while on the Banerji protocol I use for high blood pressure?
We often use more than one homeopathic at a time as part of an overall schedule.
Potassium is a great thing for HBP
This cell salt (mineral) was a little miracle for me when the bottoms of my two front teeth began crumbling. If I hadn’t known about Dr. Scheussler’s cell salts, I would soon be needing veneers or worse. But I did know about the minerals and started taking Calc Fluor that very afternoon. By the next morning, the bottom edges were smooth and normal again. A year or so later, I noticed the same two front teeth doing the same thing – I hadn’t taken the Calc Fluor for ages. Again, I took the mineral and within a day, they were back to normal. So now I take the CF about 3 or 4 days a week. Very happy to hear it’s good for elasticity, too, Joette! I don’t know why scientists call a mineral a “salt.” We non-scientists know them as minerals!
Oh my goodness Joette! So on time This was so interesting to read! I just got your Materia Medica and going to pull this up ASAP…I wonder I have hyper joints all my life…yet I have Lyme disease that has caused me to have painful tight muscles in my arms and legs… (oxymoron) lol and bells palsy that has made my eyesight bad…and a loose wisdom tooth from a blow. I wonder would this work for me? Thank you for sharing this!
It has been a while Rita and I was wondering if the Calc Fluor did improve the conditions you spoke of? I hope so! I just recently started Bioplasma (I didn’t have the specific I needed) for a horrible skin issue that kept going septic, discoloration way around small wounds sort of purplish and hot. Within 2 days that was much less noticeable BUT suddenly I have spring in my step! I chose to jump (both feet) a small step down but WOW where did the spring come from? It has been sorely missed for a few years! Now I know the specific mineral cell salt to use!
Would Calc Fluor be used for joints that popping? Or are there better remedies for that?
From the description of your son’s joints popping out, it sounds like he has Hypermobile Syndrome or hypermobile Ehlers Danlos Syndrome.(any one with “bendy” or “elastic” joints can be classified as Hypermobile according to new guidelines from 2017. More is involved in hEDS dx.) Was he ever diagnosed with one of these conditions? My son and I have Hypermobile EDS and I wonder if Calc fluor could be beneficial not only for the joint instability but for a host of other symptoms associated with the condition. Any thoughts on that? http://www.ehlers-Danlos.com . Thank you
I had no need to have him diagnosed.
The condition was arrested.
Did you still use the 12x mentioned in the article for your son’s shoulder popping? Thank you!
My son no longer has that condition but I would indeed still use it, but now I might add more.
Hi Carole, I don’t know if you will see this but I just realized that a family member most likely has a connective tissue disorder and I’m desperate to help ASAP. Have you had any success with Calc flour?? Thank you
Dear Joette
Your cell salt post on Calc fluor is very timely for our family as I have a granddaughter whose knee has been popping out of joint recently. I have forwarded this info to my daughter and will be adding Calc fluor to my remedies.
Also, my sister has been diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. Do you think Calc fluor could be beneficial for her? She has always had hyper mobility of joints and suffers with neck pain and depression.
Thanks for making homeopathy practical!
Donna
I don’t comment on this forum on what would be good or bad for someone, so if your sister is interested in trying it out, she’ll likely find out.
Our medicines at the least, do no harm.
I also had hEDS, and my question s that if this product aids your body in naturally producing more collegen, people with hEDS have bodies that produce only faulty collagen on a molecular level. So I’m wondering just how and where Calc fluor works in the body, which might help to understand if it might help people with hEds.
Thanks
It’s not a synthetic that forces or manipulates the body to function in a particular way. Instead, it gently stimulates the body’s natural ability to correct the condition. If you want more than that check it out online. And my advice is to not overintellectualize the situation. There are no side effects.
My brother ruptured his esophagus, spontaneous, he was in excellent health, survived. Having issue with scar tissue in esophagus and spasticity wondering if this would be helpful
Hi,
If one is taking the Bio-Plasma mix of cell salts which already contains Calc Fluor in a 6x, is it acceptable to take a higher potency of Calc. Fluor, maybe a 12 or 30 potency alternately (internally and applying externally),than what is in the Bio-Plasma mix?
Thank you!
I don’t know why one would do that.
For hardened glands?
Its not my 1st choice for enlarged or hardened glands but is certainly a consideration.
What is your first choice?
It depends on what is meant by hard. HArd with tonsil stones? Hard with swelling? Hard with infection? Hard and chronically enlarged? These are the questions one needs to ask before determining the medicine.
Google “JoetteCalabrese Tonsils” and you’ll likely find your answer.
To add focus to hardened glands. Would it not be necessary?
Thank you
What would be the dose for a two and 5 year old? And how long should I give it to them? Both of my kids have had their shoulders popped out already and my mom has flexibility problems so we would definitely benefit from this cell salt. Thank you in advance
The number of pills that comprise a dose is printed on the side of the bottle.
We use homeopathic medicines for as long as it takes for a condition to resolve. If it appears to be resolved and the remedy is halted only to reveal that there is more to go, then it’s taken up again.
Thank you! God Bless you for helping mankind and sharing your knowledge with us.
There is no doubt some benefit to studying the human condition and identifying what is wrong with it but some have had so little recognition that they then get caught up in fixating on their situation… when they come across Homeopathy and the choice to simply FIX the problem it might seem juvenile by comparison. Some have a choice to make to continue to FIXATE on or to FIX the problem. You are no less worthy by getting well and moving on with your life!
Greetings, Joette –
I’ve used cell salts for many years. I see that they are, for the most part, available in only certain strengths – I see you refer to weaker, i.e. stronger, concentrations. How do I get the strength I need ? Do I need to see a homeopath ? Thank you – Mary Rutkowski
Cell salts are available in many potenecies. If you don’t feel confident, you might want to learn more by listening to my cell salt CD titled “Cell Salts; The easy Homeopathy” or indeed, working with a homeopath.
If I want to take Calc Fluor for dry facial skin around my eyes and some wrinkles, can it be taken on an ongoing basis?
Generally, we take a homeopathic for a chronic condition over a period of many weeks or months.
Would this be appropriate for someone (hubby) who often has very tight muscles in his legs, making it difficult to sleep and causing overall discomfort? They are often relieved greatly by stretching, which is what makes me wonder about Calc fluor….
OR….would this be a better track?: (as seen on your blog post “Catholic Sisters”) “Leg pain (if in the muscles): Mag phosphorica 6x mixed with Calc phos 6x twice daily, and Cuprum metallicum 6, twice daily.”
When there’s pain or cramping, Mag phos, Calc phos plus Curpum met are better choices. But before any homeopathics are used for such, be certain this is not a result of a substance or drug that is intended to reduce cholesterol…super common.
Thank you for the response! No, he is not on any medications. But has had this problem with tightness and general discomfort in his legs for years- tends to be worse at night.
I have looked everywhere for calculus Fluor in 12x which I would really prefer to take since it is stated as such in your article. Where can I get 12x?
Thank you!
If you’re a student or client of mine you may purchase it from OHM Pharmacy. I believe Washington Homeopathy in W. Virginia may also have it.
Oops spell check put calculus!
My daughter’s top central incisors came in and the bottom half is blotchy (lacking enamel). I was sick with and infection and on antibiotics at the end up my pregnancy and also cut out dairy to reduce mucus (dumb- I needed the vitamins). Anyways, for deficient enamel I think Calc Fluor and Calc Phos should help- I have read many accounts of it helping others. She is 10 months old so is one dose a single pill instead of 4 pills for adults? The bottle doesn’t tell the dose for kids.
The reason there’s no number of pills designated for children is because it is the same for all.
Would calc fluor be good for diastasis recti?
Its a good place to start but it may need more.
In the case of stretch marks, would this still work for “old” stretch marks from pregnancies that were years ago? (my last pregnancy was almost 8 years ago).
The beauty of homeopathy is that there are no side effects and the cost is minimal. In my book, this means there’s nothing lost in trying it over a period of many, many months.
Hi Joette, thanks a lot for your blog and information, is quite valuable and interesting.
Im a newly passionate into tissue salts and homeopathy and I love to learn about them.
I had a 10 year old problem with sagging skin, after I lost a lot of weight , after learning about tissue salts it seemed that Calc Fluor is the appropriate salt for my problem, but after taking religiously Cal Fluor 6 x, three times a day for three months, I still do not see any noticeable effect on my skin (not even a gradual or ongoing one).
Do you have any advice regarding my conditon, please? Here in my country homeopath doctors are not familiar or related with the tissue salts.
Thanks!
Thank youJoette for posting about cell salts. I thought I had read awhile back that a specific cell salt helps children’s teeth align or grow in aligned? Does this sound familiar? If so can you share the cell salt?

Would this also help with prolapsed bladder? I have also started using kegel weights, but very little difference after a few months of regular use.
It’s one of the medicines that I consider but if you want to really get an idea of how I go about working with this condition you might want to check out my online course titled “Feminopathy”. There’s a little more to it given that it’s related to hormones.
Hi
Would this remedy help with a 3 year old’s droopy eyelid?
Thanks
Hi,
Can calc fluor or calc phos or the combination cause cramps in the calves?
Also wanted to add, I did check Kent M M. Did not find muscle cramps. Occurred within 15 min. of taking calc fluor 6x and calc phos 6x. But not the first day, but after a few days of taking them 1 per day. Can cell salts cause a proving at all, being what they are? Or is it like taking too much calcium supplements not in balance with magnesium? I apologize for asking too many questions, and I truly appreciate everything I’m learning from these posts and your book. Also read The Boichemic book. But it’s not clear if cell salts can cause issues, provided they are not taken in excess. I only ever read about the benefits.
Any homeopathic medicine can cause a proving if ill-chosen.
Cell salts are homeopathic medicines.
Thank you for your reply!
