When you think of “yellow,” you may think of bananas, sunflowers, rubber duckies or even a yellow submarine! Instead, I would like you to think of the cell salt Calc sulph.
As we continue with my blog series on cell salts, next up is Calcarea sulphurica. It’s great for infections, especially those with a yellow hue.
Even acne presenting with a yellow tinge responds well to Calc sulph. For dental or bone infections? Calc sulph is an excellent choice. Frankly, when any infection arises, Calc sulph can also be added (in tandem) to whichever remedy best fits the picture for that specific infection.
Infected wounds most assuredly call for Calc sulph. If there’s suppuration, drainage, an abscess or if the injury doesn’t heal readily, think of Calc sulph.
Let’s say you cut yourself. From previous experience, you know every time you get a cut, it becomes infected. Using Calc sulph to avoid that infection might be a good thing to consider.
I used to discuss using cell salts prophylactically more often, but I’ve become more conservative about it now. Many of my students and clients are using several remedies for chronic conditions, and there comes a point when we should keep a lid on the number of remedies we are taking.
But if you are sure an infection is imminent, in my experience, there is no reason not to enact a preventative plan.
And as they say on late-night infomercials, “But wait! There’s more!” As if all those uses weren’t enough to encourage you to own this remedy, Calc sulph can also help abort a cold when utilized at the onset of the symptoms!
When my son was younger, he was often plagued with sore throats announcing a cold. The first couple of times, I chose Belladonna. It didn’t help him.
So, the next time his sore throat began, I immediately used Calc sulph 6X. (And by “immediately,” I mean the moment he complained his throat was acting up.) It worked beautifully and became my go-to remedy for his sore throats.
Calc sulph has so many other uses — certainly more than I can discuss here in a blog post. In fact, as you have no doubt learned from this cell salt series, all of the cell salts are highly versatile, first-rate medicines. I love cell salts. They have come thru when I needed help. I don’t do doctors so eating right and taking cell salts I stay well.
Would you consider this remedy for yellow hypermineralisation of 6-year molars? If a child is already taking calc phos 6x and calc fluor 12x to strengthen (and space) teeth, would you add this remedy? Thanks so much for all your information!

No problem using cell salts along with a constitutional. In fact, no problem with using most of the protocols I teach along with a constitutional. (But your classical homeopath will disagree.)

You mentioned that calc sulph can be used for infections “in tandem” with other remedies. Does this mean within a few minutes of taking the other remedy or hours? For example, if one was using hepar sulph, how long would they need to wait before taking calc sulph?
