Carle is a bright, creative young boy but at school, he just doesn’t seem to function well. He has ADHD, anxiety and a bad temper.
He also has asthma. It can be quite severe at times. He has a history of frequent colds, allergies, chemical sensitivities, and bronchitis to go along with it. Like most kids with asthma, his pediatrician prescribed inhalers.
Now, why did I tell you about his behavior and ADHD if this is a blog post about asthma? Because, as I have shown time and again, when you treat a condition with conventional drugs, all these illnesses tend to become interconnected.
Rather expectedly, if you understand what synthetic drugs do, those who use inhalers often become aggressive and have difficulty with concentration. Anxiety caused by specific asthma medicines can also lead to generalized anxiety disorder, which has been shown to carry on for years.
Is this psychiatric condition a side effect of a drug? Some might call it that.
I call it a new disease.
We’ve exchanged bronchial spasms for a behavioral disorder, yet haven’t even cured the original disease! We’ve swapped normal aptitude in the classroom with an inability to learn and (sometimes) the ruining of social acceptance in school and other social circles.
Sounds to me like we’re accumulating diseases, not uprooting them.
Carle and his family have stepped onto the modern medical conveyor belt and will have a difficult time getting off unless they understand just how serious these drugs are on a young body and mind.
The irony is, if the school was to have its way, Carle would be put on more drugs to further suppress his newly acquired behavior.
I looked up steroid inhalers on PubMed, and here is what I found: they “prevent and control airway inflammation” and “decrease severity, frequency, and duration of asthma attacks and treat the attacks as they occur.”
I kept looking for the words “cure” or “life of living free from drugs,” but I could not find them.
I didn’t really expect to find those words.
The drugs are intended to suppress symptoms without regard to what they will likely cause elsewhere in Carle’s delicate system.
We’re told these drugs are tested, but on whom? Children with developing lungs and blooming personalities? Of course not.
By law, children are not tested on. Well, except children like Carle, under the guise of “proper medical intervention.” If enough children were treated in the same manner, and enough of them were reported with psychological damage, it might cause pause for the industry to change the formula (just in time for the next fall-out to present), but that's not likely for now, which essentially means Carle is the test.
In truth, we all are.
I don’t mind being part of the testing of a product such as a new refrigerator or smartphone, but I don’t want to be the lab rat for the pharmaceutical industry. And I especially don’t want my child to be one.
So what to do?
There are a few different ways we can approach a situation such as Carle’s. If his asthma was mild and his parents believed it could be controlled without submitting to an inhaler, they might decide not to give him one in the first place.
But unfortunately, most people don’t come to these kinds of conclusions until they discover just how dangerous drugs can be. This doesn’t happen until they, or someone they love, has suffered harm in which case, they could use one (not all) of the following Banerji Protocols:
However, if extrinsic sources such as allergies are the main cause of asthma, other remedies must also be employed.
I won’t go into them this week, but chemical sensitivities, food intolerances, animal dander, pollen and dust, for example, ought to be represented in the remedy choices to help uproot them.
Asthma can be a life-threatening disease and it’s important to note if a medication is abruptly halted, a boomerang effect can become serious.
This is why it is not advisable to stop the use of prescribed drugs, even while on homeopathics, until it’s clear that the drug has become undeniably superfluous. It would be advisable for most drugs to be weaned off with the guidance of the prescribing practitioner.
Remember folks, Homeopathy is medicine — not herbs, vitamins, home remedies, or supplements — so, if the symptoms I've described here are not apparent, it is sloppy and potentially harmful to employ the remedies mentioned above.
There you have it, folks. Homeopathic medicines for asthma, free of the nasty side-effects and behavioral issues.
Now that’s what I call true medicine.
Warmly,
P.S. My flu has been uprooted by our beautiful homeopathics. I sounded raspy on and off for a few days, but never missed a day of work or family obligations. Meanwhile, one of the commenters on this blog offered a great tip; the specific genus epidemicus for this particular influenza. This is the remedy mostly likely to address en masse in the face of this epidemic. My staff is sourcing a pharmacy for you to purchase the medicine, so stay tuned. I hope to have this info for you by next week.

I am a homeopath with a worldwide practice working with families and individuals via Zoom. I'm also a teacher and most importantly, a mom who raised my now-adult children depending on homeopathy over the last 31 years. I lived decades of my life with food intolerances, allergies, and chemical sensitivities until I was cured with homeopathy, so I understand pain, anxiety, and suffering. You may feel that your issues are more severe or different than anyone else’s, but I have seen it all in my practice and in my work in India. My opinion is that nothing has come close to the reproducible, safe and effective results that my clients, students and I have achieved with homeopathy.
Call today and learn how homeopathy might just be the missing piece in your health strategy.
Joette is not a physician and the relationship between Joette and her clients is not of prescriber and patient, but as educator and client. It is fully the client's choice whether or not to take advantage of the information Joette presents. Homeopathy doesn't "treat" an illness; it addresses the entire person as a matter of wholeness that is an educational process, not a medical one. Joette believes that the advice and diagnosis of a physician is often in order.

i have a doubt in the protocol mentioned above for asthma, you said lachesis should not be taken along with kali carb, what it mean ?lachesis cannt be taken in those days taking kalicarb or lachesis never taken when kalicarb is used
It means one should be chosen over the other. To use both during the same treatment period is overkill.
Thank you so much for this article. My son has asthma and four years ago we chose to begin prescription drugs to treat it. Immediately we began to see behavior problems and we worked with the Dr. to take our son off the prescribed drugs. We sought out a medical team that would treat our son through diet, and rarely used inhalants. Fortunately his asthma is mild and we have come a long way in improving his condition.
What are the differences between the kali carb and the lachesis to determine which would be a better option for someone?
Hi Joette, Thank you for this informative article. I had asthma as a teenager well into my adult years as well as while I was pregnant with both of my children. I never knew about homeopathy during my years of using the usual inhaler — albuterol. When I looked for a homeopath to help my children with their chronic ailments, I also inquired about a remedy for my asthma. The homeopath gave me a nosode based on my symptoms. After two doses, I became sick — she instructed me to “ride it out” as she felt it was a healing crisis. After my illness passed, my asthma was gone for good. That was six years ago and I still have no signs of any asthma. Never needed to use or get an inhaler since she treated me in 2010. Truly amazing.
Pls share with us what the remedy was. Does Tuberculinum ring a bell?
I appreciate your comment about what you used for your asthma. I have really struggled with this for years now. I have felt that there is no hope but after reading your comment, I feel encouraged. I would love to talk with you more about this.
Yes please share what you used. My husband started to have bad asthma and coughed for months after his first covid vaccine.
Hi Joette, Sorry for not including the name of the remedy. It was Medhorrinum Americana nosode (I purchased the nosode from Helios Homeopathic Pharmacy in London). I believe I took the 30C potency. One dose a week apart. What was interesting (and surprising) is that I took my inhaler for many, many years — primarily in the winter months — a drop in temperature (to very cold weather) would trigger my asthma as well as emotional trauma — and when I stopped my inhaler “cold turkey” because there was no need for it anymore I didn’t really feel or see any “withdrawal” effects from not taking it. This surprised me because the albuterol was a steroid. Whenever I took the albuterol, I literally would have heart palpations (sp ?) and my hands would shake shortly after inhaling the medication. I was relieved to finally stop using it after 20+ years.
Medorrhinum is an excellent choice for asthma but it must fit the picture. I’m delighted for you, but not in the least bit surprised. I witness these kinds of stories, regularly. Pass on your story to others. The world needs to know about homeopathy.
This is so encouraging. My husband is at the point that he is going to need a steroid soon if we don’t get his asthma under control FAST. I know homeopathy doesn’t always work fast, but I have to try. He’s using albuterol multiple times a day, but we haven’t put him back on a steroid yet. Hoping to avoid that!
I have a question off topic.. I suffer from Dermatitis and it is progressing to my eye lids leaving them sore and inflamed is there a homeopathic remedy for this type of dermatitis
You might check my blog and enter “eczema”, “skin”, “dermatitis”, etc. for an article I’ve already written.
Dearest Joette,
I”m a recent subscriber, but luv luv LUV your blog and posts, and have practiced homeopathy for almost 17 yrs now. I am SO relieved you’re feeling better, these superbugs going round now, are lethal. More reason to keep immune system up, and learn all we can about homeopathic medicines. Again, big thank you for all you do, and so happy you are feelin better!
Thanks for your kind words Suzannah.
I hate to post here because it’s totally unrelated, but The Stinky Dog post won’t allow comments. If a dog is allergic to tree pollen, grass pollen, flower pollen, dust pollen, can she also be allergic to any of the remedies that you suggested? Would other remedies be more effective? Thank you.
I’m not sure I understand your question. WHat aspect of a homeopathic medicine would cause an allergic reaction?
I don’t know, just trying to be cautious.
Hi I have seasonal asthma and allergies and am starting calc carb 30c every day to help my immunity. Would Kali carb 200 work together with calc carb.
Also off topic… I have been taking pulsatilla for dymenorrhea and endometriosis but the banerji’s suggested sepia 200c …..are pulsatilla and sepia inimical or compatible my information is conflicting. Thank you for your help and glad you feel better!
I have used both Kali and Calc for asthma/immunity.
I am sold on the Banerji Protocols, at least as a springboard, so to depart from without at least starting with their protocol seems superfluous.
I bought lachesis 200 for my 7 year old who has asthma after reading this post. I used muscle testing to make sure the remedy would benefit her. It was a match. I am so very thankful for this article and information as albuterol is the last pharmaceutical we use at our house and I would love for her to be off of it. Side note, she also takes some supplements from standard process under the direction of our chiropractor and is currently taking one of their products for hypothyroidism. She has headaches and feels bad in the morning combined with puffy eye area, “thyroid hair”and low energy. The second dose of lachesis seemed to wake up her thyroid and she was full of energy and fired up instead of laying on the couch feeling badly. It didn’t last long, but I wonder if there is some type of connection between thyroid and lachesis and asthma.
Yes, there is.
What is thyroid hair?
When hypothyroid, hair falling out is common, but that’s not what I mean. In my observations, even the hair that remains is dry brittle, hard to brush, unhealthy looking. It is easy to see who has a thyroid problem by the health of their hair. I am recovering from Hashimoto’s. I had a ton of mercury amalgams removed 2 years ago. The consequences of the mercury and tons of drugs really affected my thyroid and gut. Even my 3 kids suffered so much from my medical and dental ignorance. We are all healing though, and have been using natural means for the past few years and nourishing foods. In Sept. I came across your blog and our healing has increased rapidly. Even our food allergies are decreasing. One more little thing, I used bovista 200 for food allergies and it ended up correcting a severe earring allergy! I can now wear earrings again. This may not seem like much, but when you have thyroid hair, you need all the pretty you can get! Thanks from the bottom of my heart.
I’m delighted that this information has helped you.
I am curious about taking homeopathy for acute conditions while on a constitutional remedies. For example, (hypothetical), one is taking a remedy for asthma, then sprains an ankle, and then gets a cold and turns into a sinus infection. Does one treat the acute problems with the appropriate remedies or hold off to focus on the constitutional remedy? I am interested in your response as you have worked closely with the Banerji Protocols, which is different that classical homeopathy. Thanks for your time.
One of the main benefits of using this kind of practical method of homeopathy is that more than one condition can be addressed at once.
Ihave an off topic pls suggest a solution as early.. my father has diabetes since 2013, on alopathic medicines, but his fasting sugar on 11-03-2016 was 190 and PPBS was 299, he has no other illness, so pls suggest a protocol for helping my father… Im interested in online courses but Im not in a position to handle it now. later I ll do.thanks
Hi Joette….and thank you for all your contribute to empowering us with self-healing through homeopathy. My 62 year old husband has had a sudden onset of what appears to be allergy induced asthma. Doctors are a bit confounded and are troubleshooting his symptoms with oral prednisone and steroid inhalers. Awful, I know. No really success so I’m scouting out ways to help him. Might you suggest any remedy protocols that I can research? I’ve been self-treating with homeopathy for years, so I’m quite familiar with this modality. Now I just have to get him on board. Also, I’m very interested in your but class…so you’ll be seeing me. Thank You!
‘Would love to have in our classes!
Many find the protocol I discuss to be efficacious.
Can you suggest a protocol for diabetes..type 2
Would you use the Kali carbonicum 200 for exercise induced asthma and if so, only when he has a flare up from too much physical activity or use it daily to eliminate the flare up all together?
Kali carbonicum 200, every 7 days, for asthma in general.
Hi Joette,
I have read the post and thank you so much for this tremendous information. I am just a bit frustrated with myself as don’t know which remedy to choose and husband having a respiratory attack right now we do not have the inhalers as he chose not to . Do I have to give him the Kali Carb along one of the other remedies ? He does get the wheezing spcialy after midnight becomes worst , almost impossible to sleep with that. This is quite urgent and appreciate your response. He does become worst eithr with the wind ,before he us to get it when doing something some type of strong physical activity but now even going up the stairs is making him so sick. Please advice us and thank you so much. Your wonderful information has helped us so much and our babies. May God continue to bless you.
Regards
I can’t take his case in this forum, but if you’re asking if asthma is usually met with more than one remedy at a time, the answer is yes. Its not to be taken at the same moment but over the course of care. If wheezing presents then the wheezing remedy is appropriate.
What remedy is appropriate to use on a five year old who has illness induced asthma? He has trouble breathing and gets a really tight cough any time he gets a cold. We have used the prednisolone and levebuterol in a nebulizer, but I would love to be able to root out his asthma for good so that colds do not take such a tole on his health. Thank you, Joette! I used Umcka on my three year old daughter after one of your posts and was amazed at how her nighttime cough disappeared so quickly! So grateful for you sharing your knowledge with us!
Blessings,
Kristi Chandler
If what you mean by illness induced asthma that he gets asthma from a cold or bronchitis, it would be a bit more complex, in which a seasoned homeopath ought to be consulted. That indeed would need to be addressed. However, having said this, the article covers how to approach asthma in general.
Hi Kristi,
This is exactly what my son has. Did you find a solutions? I’m thinking of trying the Lachesis 200C.
We generally don’t use Lachesis for children.
Joette, does not using Lachesis for children apply across the board, or for regular use? I have been trying to stock up on emergency remedies and added Lachesis in case of rattlesnake bites (they are common where I live), but wonder now if I should reconsider.
Lachesis is a good consideration for poisonous snake bits regardless of age.
Do have information on sinus polyps
I would be interested in a post about this also!!
Thank you for this post. Where can I buy these remedies? My son is 10 and he uses Albuterol sometimes. He has allergies from cats and dogs. I want to stop that. Thank you vey much.
Try Amazon. We also sell entire homeopathy kits that we send out from our office, should you be interested.
Hi Flavia, You can also buy remedies from Boiron too. My stores, and Amazon don’t always have the 200c always available. 🙂
Thank you Joette! Where can we get the Kalc carbonicum without lactose? We’ve tried some other remedies with lactose and my son is so sensitive, his nose clogs up right away – his reaction when there is a dairy infraction. Eagerly waiting for your next installment about asthma and allergies. Best!
Try Hahnemann Laboratories in CA.
Ollois, a French homeopathic pharmacy, manufactures homeopathic medicines that are lactose free. They can be found online or at health food stores. Good luck!
hi , nice imformative article , is there any specific for dye allergy according to banerjee protocol……..thx
Do you mean dyes that are found in foods? And how does it present?
Three of my sons have asthma; one’s is exercize induced, the others’ viral. Two attacks ago, we were able to avoid dr visit and Albuterol with Spongia tosta and Kali iodatum. It got a little scary with the retracting late at night and I panicked and had him take one puff of the inhaler. But for the next attack I taught my son how to better recognize the earliest sign of wheezing so I could give him the remedy more quickly. (Previously he would wait until it was noticeably bad to tell me.) I also gave Kali iodatum in more frequent doses. When my youngest son had an attack I knew what to do right away and his attack lasted only one day. We used to be on Albuterol for a week! It worked. IT WORKED!!! Now I am beginning the protocols to uproot asthma. I don’t know which would suit each boy the best so am using different on each to compare results. I just wanted to share this to help other parents. Also, Joette, I first thought I couldn’t afford your classes. Then I realized I couldn’t afford not to. I have taken Feminopathy and am signed up for Allergic?! I am so thankful for you–and for Samuel Hahnemann.
Jaime, Many thanks for this heartfelt testimony to homeopathy. This is what stirs other families to give homeopathy a try or to stick with it.
Your statement about costs for educating yourself is precisely what I have said for years and what I found to be the best solution in my own life.
This morning I sent out an email with your response included in it, using only your 1st name, of course. I did not overtly ask your permission because of your statement of wanting to help other parents and I could think of no better way than this. Having done so, however, I now hope that you are comfortable with my inclusion of it.
I’d love to hear from you.
Hi Joette, I have a son who gets viral asthma but with nothing in between. Could I give him lachesis with no asthma present to uproot it? I’m doing your allergies course and there is a strong case for tuberculinum as well. Would just be concerned doing lachesis with no asthma every second day might prove it? Thanks so much!
This is a student question and is best posted on the student page of Allergic.
Ok, thank you.
I’m somewhat new to homeopathy and so lost. I’ve taken only one remedy for fever blisters and I’m unsure if it even worked or if it was the monolaurin I was taking. Howver, I know many people who have used it and believe it’s powers, so I do too! I’m afraid my husband won’t let me invest in a book or classes though unless he can be convinced this isnt woo-y science fluff. I think the best way to convince him would be to cure him! He has asthma, is quick to anger, mild depression that comes and goes, and dog dander allergies (along with some other environmental allergens) – we have two dogs. I wouldn’t be surprised if he has food sensitivities or allergies as well. He uses an albuterol inhaler at least once a day, sometimes twice), usually in the evening or in the middle of the night (our dogs sleep with us). What would you recommend he take?
My recommendation is that your husband reconsider the efficacy of the paradigm he’s following since it sounds like he’s not cured. OR, he can continue on the path he thinks is up to his intellectual standards.
I’m not sure I understand. He’s not taking any homeopathic medicine right now, because I’m not sure what to give him. His asthma seems to be triggered by the dog dander, but he also has other things going on, I’m worried treating the asthma alone won’t be the best treatment. I was hoping you might have a suggestion?
Rachel, I can not take cases on this forum and that is what you’representing here.
My son sugfers
Do you have any idea when the allergic class will become available?
go here and you may order it. https://homeopathyworks.infusionsoft.com/app/orderForms/Allergic-closed.
or you may call our office at 716.941.1045 m-s 9-4:30
I am curious why you say not to use Kali Carbonicum if using Lachesis? It is not listed as an antidote in the materia medica and I recently had bronchitis and didn’t use the kali carbonicum because of what was stated here. I had to go back to using some herbs that I had used 26 years ago the last time I had bronchitis. If someone is using Lachesis for hot flashes, etc and they get bronchitis or pneumonia, what should they use?
My point was to teach that you choose one or the other, not because they are antidoting or inimical. If I don’t clarify that one should make careful choices, some folks might just throw everything at it.
Hi, I just wanted to get clarification about the Kali Iod for wheezing – this is go be given every day, twice a day, regardless of whether the person is actually wheezing on any given day (just provided that when the asthma DOES present, it presents with wheezing)? We don’t wait until they are in an asthma attack to administer – I just want to make sure I’m reading that right.
Thank you!!
If the person has asthma with wheezing as part of their regular existence, then Kali Iod daily is appropriate. If instead they have occasional attacks, its better to use it at the time.
Ah, I see. Would that be true of the 1W Kali Carb 200 as well? Only give when the asthma is active? My daughter only has asthma symptoms when she has an illness like cold or flu. So, about once every couple months.
Yes, that’s when it would be used but there is more to it if this occurs only when there’s an infection. Should you be interested in learning the full method, you might want to check out my on line course, Allergic.
How interesting re: the infection issue. Thanks for referring me to Allergic – I wasn’t sure which course I would take next after GGBG, which I am doing now. I’d love to get my daughter away from albuterol – it’s the only pharmaceutical we use in our home. I’ll check it out.
I don’t know if this is appropriate for this post-just delete if it isn’t, but we’ve also found magnesium and fish oil to help a lot with asthma.
Please, please, please share the protocol for Adenotonsiller Hypertrophy Grade II and save my 7 year young son from undergoing surgery. 🙁
Love and Light from Nepal
I’m attaching my article on tonsil conditions that are similar which is a good place to start. However, you may need to meet with a homeopath.
homeopath.http://joettecalabrese.com/blog/ultimate-remedies-for-strep-throat-and-enlarged-tonsils/
SL probably means Sac. Lac. or Saccharum Lactis . It’s made up of sugar and usually has no remedy on it or in other words a placebo/blank pills to satisfy the patient’s need to take something on a regular basis.
Is there homeopathic remedy for tdah? Trastornos de déficit de atención e hiperactividad. Asperger syndrome and autism?
Yes, there are protocols depending on how it presents.
“Lachesis 200, one dose every other day, is a great medicine to help uproot asthma, but it should not be taken along with Kali carbonicum.”
Does that mean that we either give Kali Carb e7D or Lachesis EOD? Or that we can give both but not in the same day?
They should not be taken in the same schedule. A schedule would run for about 2 months.
What would you suggest for Asthma triggered by mold in the house?
It matters not what the cause is. Look at how it presents.
“Kali-carbonicum 200-every 7 days”…does that mean take 1 dose every 7 days or a dose a day for a week? I’m sorry, but I’m brand new to homeopathy. I’m the desperate mother of an 8 yr old girl with asthma/allergies/ADHD. She’s on a corticosteroid inhaler to see if that works, but I REALLY want to get her off the drugs entirely. She toggles between angry/depressed/anxious much of the time and has resulting behavioral issues.
It means 1 dose e 7th day.
Also, could I use Kali carbonicum 200 AND Kali iodatum 6 together? Thanks!
We generally space them out by about 15 minutes.
Hi Joette,
In your post, you explain that when you looked up the medications normally used for asthma, you did not get an answer in terms of how they work, their potentially harmful side effects, or proof of their success. Where can i find these answers for the supplements you listed? All I see above is you criticizing allopathic medicine with the expectation to just believe that you are correct. What do those 4 supplements do, how do they work, and what side effects can I expect from them?
Thank you
Your questions would take more than a simple answer here. Homeopathy is a vast medical paradigm and the best way to learn about it is to read not only what you’ll find here on this blog, in my podcasts, etc. but to read other homeopathy sites as well.
What will be of most interest to you is that homeopathic medicines (they are not supplements) do not carry side effects.
Hi Joette, is chronic mouth breathing and frequent colds treatable through these protocols ?
These protocols are specific to asthma. Chronic mouth breathing and frequent colds are usually associated with enlarged adenoids and inheritance. Both are more complex, hence I don’t cover them in this blog. Should you be interested, I cover them in my course “Allergic”.
Hello doctor, I am from India , I am suffering Asthma from part 9 years, that too only winter and rainy seasons.
If I use Rotocaps I can servive exactly 1 day, will they have parmanent solution. If have parmanent solution let me know cost of treatment, coz am working as a labour
Given that you hail from India, I urge you to contact Dr. Prasanta Banerji…not P. Banerji, but Prasanta Banerji who will help you.
I am confused it is suggested Kali carb Kali iod for asthma then the following statement is made…
if extrinsic sources such as allergies are the main cause for asthma, other remedies must also be employed.
chemical sensitivities, food intolerances, animal dander, pollen and dust, for example, ought to be represented in the remedy choices to help uproot them.
Next this question is asked and you reply
What would you suggest for Asthma triggered by mold in the house? your reply..It matters not what the cause is. Look at how it presents.
so isnt mold considered an extrinsic source that ought to be represented in remedy to uproot
We must (MUST) treat on 3 levels. 1) the fact that the condition exists 2) how it presents (symptomatically such as wheezing or coughing ) are the baseline medicines. Then and only then we use a medicine that will help when the event occurs from mold or dust, etc. If we were looking at this like a symphony, the rem for the condition and its symptomatic picture are the string section that carry the melody…the underpinnings of the symphony, while the acute that presents from time to time (perhaps the glockenspiel) come to the fore only as needed. To treat for mold would be like expecting the glockenspiel to carry the symphony.
Kali Carb was working great for us and I continued hoping for a full resolution but suddenly it quit helping and the asthma got bad again.. I stopped it and am wondering if it is okay to try the Lachesis; would that be safe to try after having been on the kali carb? It is exercise induced.
If you’re asking me if Lachesis can follow KC, the answer is yes.
Do you have a blog for ADHD/Autism/Focus?
Given the complexity of Autism and other related conditions, I’m considering constructing a course on the subject.
I am an asthma patient in my childhood. When I grew up as a youth i.e. 20 years ahead I did not suffer from asthma. Now I am 58 years old. For the last 2/3 years again I am feeling shortness of breathe sometimes. Cold infection is very frequent. Dr. told me that I have severe COPD as my FEV1 was 23%. Now with medication and yoga, it has increased to 63% and the Dr. as written persistent asthma. Normally , there is no wheezing sound rather coughing regularly which is most of the time productive. I am using Inhaler and Nasal spray. This is hereditary. My mother was having this. I am using Mark Cor, Colchicum & Nux at 10 minutes interval daily 3 times for desentry which is of great use. Can you please help me which of the four medicine should I use. However, I used Kali Carbonicum 200 once, and the cough became dry. whether I should try Ipecac 30 & Lachesis 200 simultaneously. Please help
I can’t take your case here, but Kali carb 200, Lachesis 200 and Ipecac 30 are all excellent choices. They are usually taken with some time in between each of the doses of approx. 5 minutes or so.
Hi Joette. I have red your posts and also the Banerji Protocols. I have a cat with asthma and didn’t want to go into inhalers. I raised y daughter mostly on homeopathic remedies. I am giving my cat Kali Carb and gave him Ipecac. That worked wonders and I stopped the Ipecac altogether. My concern in with Kali Carb. Since it is not just a SOS remedy, how long should I give it to him? He is asymptomatic now. Thanks so much and congratulations on your good job!
We use remedies, such as KC for as long as it is needed. When its no longer needed, we halt the use. Symptoms are the indicators.
My 10-year-old daughter was diagnosed with asthma/ eczema at the age of one and at age 9 with celiac disease. Your article blew me away!
Currently she takes Symbicort 4 times a day. 2 puffs morning and 2 again before bed and albuterol as a rescue inhaler. I HATE IT and hate the temperature/struggles in school, along with it!
Can I transition her to your recommendation immediately? If not how do I get there?
Thank you so much!
My course, “Allergic” gives specific information on how to use the homeopathic for these conditions. https://courses.joettecalabrese.com/
I can’t click on the names of the medicines. I looked them up on Amazon but for some there are different letters behind the name. I hope to be in a study group & then start taking some courses & buy some kits soon. Thank you for all that you & your team do!
Hi Joette! Thanks for this great info. I am wondering if a child has illness induced asthma, do you treat the illness or the asthma first? Or just do it simultaneously? Thank you so much!
We usually cover both in one schedule.

Eagerly waiting for your response..
I don’t know that you realize that what you’re asking me to do is to take his case and I am not able to do that on this forum.
Hello Dr. Calabrese. Thank you for all the information you provide.
I have COPD. I smoked for years, but no longer. I’m in my mid 70’s.
The condition got worse because we rented a home where there was a lot of burning and smoke in the area, which got into the house frequently. Of course we moved as soon as it was possible–it took months before we could.
Anyway, I read that COPD is”incurable,” which is what allopaths say rather than say “we don’t know how to cure it.” Can homeopathy–Banerji protocols–at least stop the supposedly inevitable progression of the diseease or at best initiate a curative process? It would be nice if I could exercise a little or at least walk up a gradual hill.
Thank you for your attention.
I have witnessed the progression of COPD halted using homeopathy as well as significantly resolved.
Dr. Prasanta Banerji once turned to me and said “All diseases and conditions known to mankind have been cured by homeopathy. But not all people are able to be cured.”
For the record, I’m not a doctor but a lay practitioner. Feel free to call me JOette.
Thank you for your reply!
Re: ” But not all people are able to be cured.”
Yes, I’ve read that distincion, I believe, in Hahnemann. I’m not Sure why you brought it up, though. Are you perhaps trying to tell me that I must be prepared to be told that I may not be curable–perhaps owing to my past smoking habit? Of course I can accept that possibility.
I was very happy to read that you have witnessed a halting of the condition, even signficantly resolved. Was this in India under Drs. Banerji, or were you involved in advising the patient in the States? Please, kindly direct me to the expert who was able to resolve the condition, or to written materials that address COPD in homeopathic terms. Please feel free to write to my email address.
Hey John, I’m in same boat, I think. Not many allopathic doctors want to discuss it except to throw horrible medications at you. I’m not doing it, and I’m on a mission to find the right protocol. While I wait on those protocols, I’m following the allergy protocol. Kali iodatum 6 twice daily, keeps the wheezing away. Ipecac 30-definitely helps if coughing presents itself. Carbo veg definitely does the trick for shortness of breath (haven’t used the rescue inhaler in a few weeks), but I’ve gone through a few vials already. Wondering if another medicine is a better? Kali mur to clear mucus, if it presents itself. Works well. I didn’t have any lung issues for a whole year. I would certain give you what I have found out.
It’s been a few years, but if you’re still around, I’d love know more. Just went from pretty healthy and hadn’t gone to a doc for years out of necessity to a day in the ER with a diagnosis of “a little patch” of pneumonia on one lung and orders to follow up with pulmonologists for my COPD. I had a diagnosis over a decade ago but my only symptom has been a wet cough, until now.
I can’t click on the names of the medicines to get the full name of the medicine.
The names I’ve printed here are generally complete enough to direct you to be able to purchase the medicines. Is there any particular one you’re having trouble with?
Would the remedies here apply to asthma caused by inhaling clothes dryer dust? Something is wrong with the dryer and dust was coming out.
What is the reason that you cannot take Kali carb and Lachesis at the same time?
Thank you for all of your information!
Hi Joette, i have been a silent supporter of you for very long time. I am facing a tough situation. Long story short- My wife, a retired RN (Oncology, MSKC,) has been diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. What remedy and potency you recommend? I did some search and found Beryllium and Silica but don’t know the potency. I also searched on PBanerni protocol but no luck so far. I will be very grateful to you if you could help me out with this tough situation. God bless you.
Elaine’s “Moms with Moxie” interview mentioned using Kali carb 200 for wheezing. We decided to try Kali carb 200, 1D for someone who had childhood asthma but as an adult only has wheezing when exercising, and it has been working. You mention Kali iodatum 6, 2D for wheezing. Is this a case of more than one way to bake a cake? Would switching to Kali carb, e7D and using Kali iodatum for the wheeze be a wiser choice? Thank you for all of you years of free, effusive education on this blog!
You’re welcome.
Another thing that I often say is if a homeopathic medicine is acting, don’t tinker with success.
If you read up on each medicine in your materia medica you’ll see each covers both. To own or have access to a materia medica is key to your understanding of and owning homeopathy.
Hi Joette, I have been treating my 10 year old son with the ipecac 30 c for a dry “asthma” sounding cough and throat clearing he developed after the last round of covid, it is exacerbated by certain foods, so we try to keep him on a low histamine diet as much as possible. I also give him a product from Conners clinic called clear hist Jr the combination of all of these has helped keep it manageable, but wonder if there is something else homeopathic I should add for this type of histamine reaction
There’s too much to consider here without fully taking the case. Having said this I urge you to consider my online courses “Allergic” as well as “Good GUt Bad GUt” found here. I teach families how to treat conditions themselves and I cover precisely this condition in both.

I am wondering if it possible to conserve money and pellets if we can use these medicines as water remedy? If so should we succuss a few times prior to each use? Also if a remedy say Kali carb 200 works for a time but then quits working does that mean move on to another remedy or could it mean increasing potency might allow it to continue working again?
Lots of good questions, Dawn.
‘Sounds like you need to join one of my online Gateway to Homeopathy Study Groups where you’ll learn the basics and equally as important, meet other, like-minded people that you can bounce off of.

I have been trying to join gateway but not been admitted? Maybe doing something wrong?

Hi Joette! Thank you so much for this information. I have been reading up on your suggested remedies for asthma. I have a question; here you say to give Kali Carb e7d and on a Facebook live you mentioned to give Kali Carb e2d. How do we determine which protocol we should use? If asthma is not very severe should we start with e7d? Or should it always be e2d and then possibly move to e7d if there is improvement? Thank you!!
In general, the less the severity (which includes frequency as well as intensity or length of time of an episode) the less frequently the medicine is used.
If you are using the Kali carb 200 every 7 days for asthma, do you have to stop drinking coffee?
In my experience, if coffee is drunk regularly, it does not tend to antidote.
