I doubt Plato or Aristotle is concerned I will steal their places on a list of Great Philosophers.

However, I must admit, I have been feeling quite philosophical as of late.

You may remember in a recent podcast I introduced you to my Stoplight Philosophy. And now, I have another one to add to the list: The Noah’s Ark Philosophy.

Noah had it right! He listened as the Spirit led: things are better in pairs.

Can you imagine if Noah hadn’t led the animals on the ark “two by two?” We would have a lot of empty jungles, seas and skies!

Well, animals aren’t the only things that are good in pairs. So are homeopathic medicines!

Naturally, I have two pairs of reasons why:

  1. When you buy a kit, it’s best to consider it your “mother stash.” Kits are so well-organized and well-thought-out. You want to make sure you maintain its integrity as a whole. Don’t use it as your everyday supply. The last thing you want is to run out of a particular medicine right when you need it.

The solution is simple. Own two of each of the most essential remedies you and your family use most often: one for regular use and one to remain in your kit for emergencies or travel.

  1. We’re busy; we all can be forgetful at times. So, let’s use my Noah’s Ark Philosophy to prevent skipping a dose. For the most critical medicines your family needs, keep two tubes in two different places.

Keep one by the intended recipient’s bedside and keep the other one in your purse or pocket. For instance, let’s say you’re driving to drop your child off at school. Suddenly, you realize you forgot to give them their medicine! No need to panic or turn the car around! You can just reach in your purse and pop it in their mouth. Just like that. Problem solved.

  1. Remember the old saying, “Good homeopathy builds good neighbors.” Okay, granted, maybe that’s not how the saying goes … but it should! I know from experience: once we are well-educated in the use of homeopathy, it becomes increasingly difficult to watch anyone suffer. Especially when we have the answer!

Say your neighbor is coming down with a cold. You want to help, but you certainly don’t want to give them your supply of applicable medicine in case your own family needs it.

What would Noah suggest you do? Most likely, he’d recommend you keep two of the most commonly required remedies on hand. When your neighbor just has to have the medicine, you can confidently give it to them because you know you have another tube at home!

  1. And, finally, many homeopathic medicines work better in pairs because together, they comprise an effective protocol. Let’s return to your hypothetical neighbor’s cold for a moment. The Banerji Protocol for colds/coughs is two remedies mixed in the mouth at the same time: Aconitum 200 with Bryonia 30. (I discussed this protocol previously in the blog post When a Cold or Flu Hits Hard … Hit Back.)

Both Aconitum and Bryonia are also used individually in certain situations as well. So, you want to be sure to have two tubes of each; one of each for when you need them as single remedies, plus one of each joined together with a rubber band, ready to grab as a pair when a cold strikes.

So, there you have it: The Noah’s Ark Philosophy.

Homeopathic medicines are better in pairs! For all kinds of reasons. I bet you can think of even more. If you can, please chime in below in the comments section.

Your confidence will rise as you continue to use homeopathy. You’ll develop your own philosophies and helpful methods for storing and sharing your medicine. But how can you jumpstart that confidence? Why, with two opportunities to learn, of course! Yet another thing better in pairs are my Gateway to Homeopathy I and II study group curriculums.

My entire teaching philosophy comes back to these Gateway study groups. It’s the very same way I started my learning journey in homeopathy, laid out in an inexpensive, easy-to-follow book. Learn homeopathy with your friends and family. These study groups make learning homeopathy fun and memorable, while also supporting a lifestyle change focused on freedom and self-reliance.

Pass on the good news of homeopathy!

Warmly,

Joette Calabrese

P.S. With Christmas coming up, now is a great time to buy gifts of homeopathy for your loved ones (or makes hints for yourself!) The homeopathic remedy kits sold through my office are valuable and meaningful gifts. Perhaps you might form your own study group by buying copies of Gateway to Homeopathy to give to your closest friends as gifts.

Or, maybe now is the time to give Santa a list of the duplicate remedies you need (to follow The Noah’s Ark Philosophy). Hopefully, Santa will remember if he uses the coupon code “joette” when shopping from Boiron, he’ll save 20% on his purchase.

I am a homeopath with a worldwide practice working with families and individuals via Zoom. I'm also a teacher and most importantly, a mom who raised my now-adult children depending on homeopathy over the last 31 years. I lived decades of my life with food intolerances, allergies, and chemical sensitivities until I was cured with homeopathy, so I understand pain, anxiety, and suffering. You may feel that your issues are more severe or different than anyone else’s, but I have seen it all in my practice and in my work in India. My opinion is that nothing has come close to the reproducible, safe and effective results that my clients, students and I have achieved with homeopathy.

Call today and learn how homeopathy might just be the missing piece in your health strategy.

Homeopathy doesn't "treat" an illness; it addresses the entire person as a matter of wholeness that is an educational process, not a medical one. Joette believes that the advice and diagnosis of a physician is often in order.

Hi, Joette. I can’t tell you how many times I wished I could have an upstairs and a downstairs kit! I’m a little protective of using remedies from my top 100 kit, so if I find myself dipping into it, or if I read about an interesting remedy, I write that remedy on a list and add 1 or 2 of them to my monthly Amazon order.

  2. Jess says:

Greetings! Just a quick question regarding Aconite and Bryonia. I’ve read in William Boericke’s Materia Medica that Aconite will antidote Bryonia. I’m assuming that I’m missing something regarding this. Could you help with my confusion? Thank you!!

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

We find that they do not antidote when used in this fashion.

Sadly, I am the lone elephant on the ark. I don’t know a soul who appreciates homeopathy. But am working on it!

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

The way to remedy that is to join one of our study groups, Gateway to Homeopathy and you’ll have friends that you’ll meet with from N. America and the world.

  4. Sue says:

Your “The Noah’s Ark Philosophy” is similar to one of my friends philosophy and which makes sense to me, he always says, “Two is one and one is none.” Enjoyed your blog.

  5. Suzie Homemaker says:

Yes, if I find I use a lot of one from my kit I replace it and get a big bottle from washington homeopathy…homeopathyworks.com

So how much is to much? Example. Treating post partum depression and a UTI daily, but then the individual gets a terrible headache and a cough or sneezing fit that doesn’t stop, and maybe a toothache. How many remedies are to many on one day? Does it matter if they are spaced out? I’m new to homeopathy and I’ve had some good successes, but I’ve also had this question come up alot with others they are new as well.

It’s generally not too many when treating the most sobering chronic conditions to add a protocol for an acute as well. I teach this in greater detail with step by step formulas in my online classes. You might want to go to that next step.

      1. Heather says:

Being low on funds with 6 young children. Which class would you recommend I aim to take? I have taken Gateway 1. We’re actually doing a Q&A with you Monday night. I’m so excited!

        1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

If a number of members of your family suffer from one condition or another, that will help determine what to consider. For example, if there is an abundance of food intoll., consider the course Good Gut Bad Gut.

          1. Heather says:

We’re all pretty healthy most of the time. So that makes it difficult. 🙂 We eat pretty well and there is one with minor food intolerance to milk.

          2. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

I suggest that you contact my office and speak to Eileen. She’s great for helping those who are unsure of what classes to take.

  7. Heather says:

Is there a specific class that elaborates more on combining remedies?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

If you’re asking how to put together a full schedule of medicines for more than one condition at a time, this technique is taught in all of my classes but no specific one.

  8. Rebecca says:

    Hi Joette,

I have an old Broiron kit I purchased about 30 years ago, and it certainly has been picked over. It drives me crazy to have to look for a remedy, so I used your first aid chart as a starting point for making “kits” for each ailment along with an index card listing the remedies that should be in the kit. It is not a perfect system, but it does save some time The remedies I seem to have a lot of are Arnica, Aconite, Arsenicum, Nux Vomica, Bryonia, Pulsatilla, Rhys Tox, and Symphytum.

Good evening, Joette. I am working to try to get my knees back to feeling “normal”. There is a bit of stiffness/slight pain (arthritis?) and I had been taking Hypericum perforatum 30 X, then Rhus tox. 30 X a few minutes later. One morning, I absentlmindedly put both remedies under my tongue at the same time. I was a bit irritated with myself at the time. However, at the end of the day, I noticed a SIGNIFICANT improvement in my knees. The next day, I went back to my previous way of taking the remedies, with less improvement that evening. Now, I take both remedies at the same time, once a day and I am still improving. Thank you for this Noah’s Ark Philosophy post. It helps me know I’m on the right path! God bless!

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

So happy to hear that this has benefitted you. This is how we learn.
