Tennis Anyone? I’m Retired!

Joette Calabrese

You already know I’ve moved to Florida.

Well, today, I’m announcing I’m retiring. I’m taking up tennis, quitting my work, and calling it quits.

I’m done with homeopathy.

No more study groups; no more classes; no more blogs or articles offering information on how to treat yourself and your family.

I’m not even going to take private cases anymore. I’m done.

Okay, wait.

Just kidding!

(I had ya there for a minute, didn’t I?)

For those who don’t use homeopathy, those who don’t like me, or those who think what I teach is hooey, it wouldn’t matter one bit if I retired, would it?

Some people (and organizations) might even be tickled pink if I were no longer in the market square promoting homeopathy instead of conventional drugs.

To them, it wouldn’t matter what I did with the rest of my life as long as I stopped doing what I’m doing now.

But for you who have fallen in love with this heady medicine and have come to depend on it, it would be quite a different story.

You’d have to think twice if a source of your information were suddenly halted.

Stopped on a dime.

Just like that … gone.

So, forgive my little practical joke, but I needed to find a way to deeply impress upon you that you must take this opportunity — while you can — to learn homeopathy for yourself instead of depending on me or others.

I’ve told you before, I’m in the empowering business, but I can only empower those of you who make the effort to take up the mantle.

I have gone through this exact scenario myself, so I know the panic of suddenly losing a trusted source of information all too well.

Long ago, after decades of allopathic treatment, I saw a homeopath who single-handedly cured me of about 40% of my near lifelong conditions: severe allergies, chemical sensitivities, depression, chronic fatigue and much more.

I talked about my experience in more detail in a blog I posted called, “I Want That: Confident Mothering.”

Over a period of a few years, I learned to depend on her for my own needs, as well as my family’s.

Then suddenly, she informed me she was moving and would no longer be available to my family and me.

It scared me right into action. “Yikes!” I thought. “Now what?” I didn’t want to go back to allopathic doctors as my first recourse.

It had been so many years since I had depended on them for anything. I had no interest in going backward!

You know that feeling of being consumed day and night when you’re faced with a problem you're not sure how to solve? This was one of those times.

I ate: “What am I going to do?” I slept: “What if someone gets sick?” I couldn’t even breathe without pondering: “Now what?”

I was suddenly on my own, and I obsessed over my perceived abandonment.

But, as it is with most problems, a solution usually presents itself — one that had been there all along and had merely gone unnoticed.

Here is the solution I came up with: I had to learn homeopathy for myself.

I had to learn it from stem to stern. From soup to nuts. From materia medica to repertory. I had to immerse myself in what would become the second most powerful commitment in my life (the first, of course, being the commitment to my family).

But if you think about it, this actually WAS an extension of my commitment to my family. In fact, it was a seamless fit!

So, if I have given you a pause for thought with my mischievous little prank, consider this:

Thoroughly read my blogs.

Listen to my podcasts.

Download all of the remedy cards I’ve attached to them.

Look for other articles I’ve published.

Start or join a study group soon. (When I meet with your study group at the end of your curriculum, you’ll have an opportunity to ask me your most burning questions.)

Or even take a course or two. (More advanced material is contained in my courses.)

I’m willing to bet your effort to learn homeopathy may give you the supreme satisfaction of fulfilling your commitment to your family even more deeply — the same satisfaction it gave me.

And along the way you will build a new confidence – believe me on this one – your life will change in wondrous ways.

Let’s face it, the intellectual deliciousness of diving headlong into homeopathy sure beats retirement and tennis.

Let’s both continue to pass on the good news of homeopathy!

Warmly,

Joette Calabrese

P.S. Next week, we’ll talk about another important reason you need to learn homeopathy for yourself: the danger of getting the answer without doing the work.

So, see you next week …  that is … unless I’m playing tennis. (Kidding! I’m kidding!)

P.P.S. I've restarted my 8 p.m. Eastern, Monday night Facebook Live presentations. About 20 minutes of my tips and methods along with a featured remedy you'll want for your toolbox. See you there!

I am a homeopath with a worldwide practice working with families and individuals via Zoom. I'm also a teacher and most importantly, a mom who raised my now-adult children depending on homeopathy over the last 31 years. I lived decades of my life with food intolerances, allergies, and chemical sensitivities until I was cured with homeopathy, so I understand pain, anxiety, and suffering. You may feel that your issues are more severe or different than anyone else’s, but I have seen it all in my practice and in my work in India. My opinion is that nothing has come close to the reproducible, safe and effective results that my clients, students and I have achieved with homeopathy.

Call today and learn how homeopathy might just be the missing piece in your health strategy.

  1. Heavens Joette, you scared the *bleep out of me there for a minute!
There’s nothing like being able to depend on you for teaching us… I sure have appreciated all your teaching..I’ve been immersed so much this last month I was getting dizzy…of homeopathy. haha 🙂
But I can’t wait to take another class soon… if only there were more time…
May 2019 bless you with all you need to keep teaching us.. (I’m so selfish) lol

    God bless you
    Rita xxo 🙂

  2. Eileen says:

You forgot to give us the remedy to help us recover from your practical joke! 🙂

Would it have been Aconitum for shock?

    1. Alisha says:

I almost reached for ignatia for stress and anxiety when I started reading that haha! My heart was racing for a second there

  3. John AldazMD says:

I enjoy reading your comments on different patients and how you determine the med.

  4. Laura says:

Wow! I received this blog post in my email but the link wouldn’t open. I spent a couple of hours thinking you were actually retiring…I think I need a dose of aconite! A group of us are just about to begin our Gateway to Homeopathy study group. I have listened to all of your podcasts more than once and have read a lot of your blog posts and articles. But there is so much more to learn. I am just beginning my journey into homeopathy and I am so very glad you are not “done with homeopathy”! Thank you so much for all of the information you share, it’s life changing!

  5. Dawn Jordan says:

May Your “entirement” be wholly fulfilling, Joette!
The legacy you leave and all of us who continue to own our power as mothers and women who heal will make the difference in the health and well being of our children, grandchildren and everyone else’s.

    Rock On!

    ??

  6. Fran M says:

Okay, you woke me up, Joette!

I will admit, I google “Joette, remedy,________” all the time!

How about an online Book – “Joette Forever!” or “Joette’s Legacy” or something we can download and have access to always – all the blogs – all the cards and charts in one nice neat disc …

If their was one course that you would say “This is the one you want before I give it all up” – because one day you really probably will – what would it be? I’m listening!

Thanks for the wake up call!

  7. Cherryl RB says:

I was gonna say, “Noooooooooooooo!! Can’t retire yet!!!” Seriously, your teachings have changed our lives 1000% for the better, and I’ve only come across you and your site latter half of 2017. Thanks for all you do, Joette, and I wish you and your family nothing but good health, happiness and success.

  8. Marcia Connor says:

Wow!! First I panicked, then I cried!! Soooo glad you aren’t retiring yet, but THANK-YOU sooooo much for all of your hard work, for being so inspiring, AND for the heads-up!!
    😀

  9. I received this in my email, but my link wouldn’t open either. I had a very sleepless night worrying! I actually took aconite to help me sleep! I have only taken one class so far and was looking forward to more, so I am thrilled that it was a joke and yet I am frowning at you right now as well for my bad night 🙁 Seriously though I am so happy and look forward to learning more! You make a HUGE difference – thank you!!!!

  10. Shaylynne says:

Oh Joette, My heart sank when I read your email title. I had finally found the mentor I was looking for last year (after 8 years of learning on my own), and then the thought of all of the new knowledge stopping.

Whew! is all I can say. There are so many of us that are ever so thankful that you are apart of our everyday lives in some sort of way.

Also, April fools isn’t for another couple of months 😉

  11. Cindy says:

I about panicked! I’m so glad you’re not really throwing in the towel! But I hope you do take some time to yourself and take up tennis, if that appeals to you. You have done so much for so many!

  12. Laurel says:

Brilliant! This gets the blog award. Thank you for posting!

  13. Sheena says:

Love this post! I have learned that it’s never soon enough to learn homeopathy. You just don’t know when a friend or family member will need you. I think it’s really important to not just learn the different remedies (you can always look them up) but how to take a case, assess if you’ve chosen well and use a Repertory.

  14. TJ says:

My heart dropped to the pit of my stomach and I am still trying to recover. I do believe Aconite is in order once I catch my breath.

  15. Dee says:

Oh Joette!! My heart sank!! Had I not continued to read on, I definitely would’ve gone straight to my Aconite!!LOL
I raised my 3 children(now adults) on homeopathy and am so inspired and grateful that you are sharing your knowledge of the Banerji protocols!! So much easier than reading my books in the middle of the night trying to quickly find the right remedy in those acute situations.
The next generation will benefit greatly!! Thank you for how you have blessed us all!
    God Bless You!!

  16. Teri says:

Damn I as almost need a remedy for heart attack!

  17. Teri says:

Damn I almost need a remedy for heart attack!

  18. Shelley says:

Like others have stated, you almost gave me a heart attack! My first thought was to run for the aconite. This would have been a great April Fools prank! So glad you aren’t retiring yet. God bless you for all the information you have given us through the years.

  19. Shelley says:

Like other people have commented, you almost had me running for the aconite! This would have been a great April Fools prank. So glad you are not retiring yet. You are a blessing to us.

  20. Suzie Homemaker says:

I knew you were joking. you have a goal to make and not long to make it, im trying to get others to commet to a study group. until then I study anything I can get my hands on, books, your blog…anything. class work I already did. anything. oh and I thought you would say God first, cause before I even read homeoopathy being an extention of famuly commetment I had already grouped that together:)

  21. Lesa says:

I had a feeling you were kidding because I had just booked a July consultation, so was VERY happy to hear it was indeed a joke. I wish I had the time to take your courses, but I don’t. I hope you have acolytes who will take up your mantle when you do decide to retire so those of us who rely on you will have a new Joette to go to!

    1. Ellen Zimmermann says:

You could be one of many to take up her mantle.

  22. Linda says:

I was waiting and hoping for the twist knowing that homeopathy is a passion and not something one can retire from unless they were seriously ill and couldn’t find the right remedy.

  23. Misty says:

My heart sank in disbelief and the inability to log on to your site made it far worse. So many thoughts and near panic! Very thankful that it is a joke. Beyond thankful for you and your dedication and commitment to share the healing world of Homeopathy.

  24. Bea Coleman says:

I found you 19 months ago & I have to tell you, you are the greatest source on healing I have EVER encountered. My mind is a sponge, so although the title of your article mad me uncomfortable, I have learned and documented almost every bit of homeopathic info you have provided. I bought your materia medica and “The Banerji Protocols Book” along with now following the Banerji’s on their website. I feel confident that you have armed me well enough to not be left floundering should you leave us. Having said that, I feel so much better knowing that, at least for now, you are safely at my fingertips!

  25. Stephanie says:

So happy you aren’t retiring at this point… Thank you <3

  26. Kathleen L Dittmer says:

OK – I’m going to do what your say…read blogs and listen to podcasts. The homeopathic remedies you have recommended have WORKED AMAZINGLY!!!!! Thx from Kathy

  27. I googled Joette Herpes and started remedy recommended. I had the worst reaction. … anxiety I was almost rushed to hospital. I stopped! My homeopath said you cannot take a remedy unless it fits “Your” picture. So now I am confused at all the remedies listed for certain illnesses by you:( I now suspect lyme and am Worried about following this generic homeopathic protocol as the remedies listed do not fit my picture.. HELP”

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

Without examining the details of what happened, I can’t speak fully to your experience. However, I can speak to your overarching question. I abandoned regular use of classical homeopathy years ago for precisely the reason your homeopath mentioned. That is, the implication being that the remedy choice must be made by a homeopath. Because only he/she has the information. I’m trying to teach folks how to be independent of practitioners when possible. If you are certain of your diagnosis, you use the exact remedy, potency and frequency, it has been found by Drs. Banerji that 85% of the population will be touched correctly by the medicine.

  28. Patricia Fitzsimmons says:

I actually DO worry about what I’m gonna do when you retire – especially if your website is taken down and the info. isn’t available anymore. I can’t print everything due to the cost of printer ink and then I would have to organize it all in a binder or folder. That would be a huge task! I’m glad you were joking!

  29. Julie says:

This story of your homeopath leaving has actually happened to me! This past spring, my naturopath/homeopath that I’ve had for over 10 years announced she was moving in the summer! That was when I realized I had been very lazy. No more. I’m am taking charge of my own health and studying like crazy. I hope your little practical joke will wake up a few people!

  30. Barb says:

I would die if u quit I look forward for your post please you can never quit or retire not now I have a lot to learn still lol

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

      Thanks, Barb>

  31. Lena says:

    🙏 Thank you

  32. Dennis says:

Since you are in Florida, maybe Pickleball would be easier!

  33. Carol says:

I am learning so much from you. Thank you for all the time you take to help us. I was able to heal my bladder infection from studying your book and listening to podcasts.had my hip replaced and used Arnica and Hypericum. my friend using bryonia for her back pain when moving.
