Cell Salt Series: A Burning Need for Kali mur

Kali mur, Joette Calabrese

You’ve heard the expression “through thick and thin”? Well, Kali mur is most certainly the cell salt to think of “through thick.”

It becomes difficult for the body to cleanse itself when any bodily fluid becomes overly viscous (thick and sticky).

For instance, if the blood has become too thick and clotting turns problematic, Kali mur can work to correct the condition, allowing the liver to cleanse and purify the blood properly.

If mucus becomes viscous, resulting in catarrh (such as with a cold) or bronchitis in the lungs, Kali mur can uproot the condition, allowing the body’s natural processes to clear the mucus.

Kali mur is also used in the production of hydrochloric acid, so it is critical to proper digestive function.

As you can see, Kali mur covers a lot of conditions. However, today, I would like to focus on its usefulness with burns.

Years ago, when my mother accidentally opened a pressure cooker prematurely.

Now, if you’ve ever used a pressure cooker, I have no doubt you just gasped in horror. If you’re not familiar with a pressure cooker, imagine one of those volcanoes ubiquitous in school science projects: extra hot material sent flying forcefully into the air — only, in this case, it flew right into my mother’s face.

She suffered a terrible burn! If there was one stroke of good fortune in this horrible event, it was that she was wearing her glasses — because her whole face was burned except for her eyes. They were thankfully saved by her glasses’ shielding.

Mom called me immediately. Understandably, she was almost in shock. Because she was unable to read the writing on the tiny bottles in her homeopathy kit, I knew she couldn’t take one of those medicines.

So, instead, I instructed her to find her bottle of Kali mur 6X — a more sizable bottle, with larger writing she could read even in her distraught state — and take it every five minutes until I could get there. Why so frequently?  Because the situation was rather serious.

The result was amazing — shocking, in fact. As severe as my mother’s burns had been, her face never blistered. The Kali mur had supported her body’s ability to deal with — and heal from — this potentially disastrous accident.

And it has additional applications I, unfortunately, can’t discuss thoroughly in a blog post. Just let me assure you, I will never be without Kali mur! Nor should you!

Pass on the good news of homeopathy — including the cell salts!

Warmly,

Joette Calabrese

P.S. Well, it’s been said, “All good things must come to an end.” It must be true because, with this blog post, we have come to the end of my series on the cell salts.

I’ve enjoyed sharing a brief look at these powerful, versatile medicines. If you’re looking for the other posts in the series, here are all of the links for your convenience:

Learn as much as you can about these proven medicines. To continue your education beyond the glimpse these short blog posts can give you, I’ve created a digital download entitled, Cell Salts: The Easy Homeopathy™. (If digital downloads don’t appeal to you, we also offered it as a 2-CD set.)

Because of the cell salts’ versatility and effectiveness, they belong in everyone’s collection of homeopathic remedies.

I am a homeopath with a worldwide practice working with families and individuals via Zoom. I'm also a teacher and most importantly, a mom who raised my now-adult children depending on homeopathy over the last 31 years. I lived decades of my life with food intolerances, allergies, and chemical sensitivities until I was cured with homeopathy, so I understand pain, anxiety, and suffering. You may feel that your issues are more severe or different than anyone else’s, but I have seen it all in my practice and in my work in India. My opinion is that nothing has come close to the reproducible, safe and effective results that my clients, students and I have achieved with homeopathy.

Call today and learn how homeopathy might just be the missing piece in your health strategy.

Thank you. Are cell salts to be taken like homeopathics, in a clean mouth, away from food? And, can they be made into a liquid solution? In the above case, could you put 4 pellets into 4 oz of water and sip every 5 mins or actually have to take 4 pellets every 5 mins?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

Cell salts are homeopathic medicines so they may be taken in exactly the fashion.

  2. Nancy says:

Why do you think it worked for burns? I would not have thought of it.

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

At the risk of oversimplifying: because its a burn remedy. To analyze is interesting but more importantly, my schtick is to offer practical solutions. SHould you be interested in learning the whys, read up on it in your materia medica and it will help you understand the science.

  3. Eileen says:

Does Kali Mur work for burns such as sun burns as well?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

Yes. It’s not the only one but its certainly one of our more important medicines.

  4. Elise says:

A pressure cooker blew up in mother’s face one holiday only I was too young to be of any help, long before I heard of homeopathy. That was an incredible example of how humble cell salts can help.

  5. Julie A Hallowell says:

I have used, arnica, hypericum, loads of calendula… But never Kali mur so thanks for the tip ?

  6. Kelly says:

Would you prefer Kali Mur over Cantharis or even Urtica Urens? I’ve always seen Cantharis suggested for burns, not sure what situation to use each. Thanks for this info!

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

KM would not be my 1st choice but in the story I relayed, my mother was unable to read the small bottles in her kit so I directed her to her cell salt bottles until I could get to her. If I had been with her all along, I would have used Cantharis and perhaps KM as a 2nd thought. I would indeed begin with Cantharis and use KM intercurrently.
      Its ability surprised me.

  7. Rose Linville says:

Is the Cell Salt digital download just a printed transcript of the CD’s or is it comparable to a book with chapters? Thanks

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

The digital download is an audio file. The transcript is the book that may be added if you want that as well.

  8. Ashish Aggarwal says:

For Burns Bach Flower Rescue Remedy also works wonder in most of the cases…

To be taken internally(2-3drops repeat frequently ) and externally(spray or dip mixed with water)

  9. Hi,

V.informative & knowledgeable article ever seen.

  10. Connie Trumpf says:

The reason why Kali Mur relieves the effect of burns is because the fibrin in the tissue first succumbs to the effects of heat, and the chloride of potash, by its union with albuminous substances produces new fibrin and supplies the deficiency. If there is pain, apply ferrum phos first, but as soon as the pain stops, Kali Mur should be used to restore the destroyed tissue.

  11. Sonia says:

My experience with Uritca urens 30 with regards to burns was a revelation For quite some time I have taken Cantharis 200 for burns but always been troubled with an overpowering stinging/pain that was only made just bearable by continual application of ice pack for several hours. Last year I received a burn to the face and this time followed the Cantharis with 2 doses of Uritca urens 30c 15 minutes apart. As if by magic the pain and stinging stopped. Same treatment on two occasions since and now I find that if I get a burn stinging/pain is not an issue and Cantharis alone is enough.

  12. Yissell says:

Do you think the quality of the cell/tissue salts play a significant role on their effectiveness? Would you recommend a different brand other than Hylands? Any response would be much appreciated Joette. Thanks!

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

The quality of Hyland’s is long established.

  13. Cynthia says:

Is Kali Mur compatible with Bryonia, which also helps with congestion?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

      They’re not overtly incompatible.

  14. Ryka says:

I have been having the cell salts (combination of all 12 cell salts) from Hyland’s. I was wondering if my mother who takes blood thinners/BP medicine can consume these cell salts. What would your suggestion?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH says:

I can’t make personal recommendations on this forum. But if you’re asking me if homeopathics can be used in tandem with conventional drugs I must say that I wouldn’t have many clients if that were the case.

  15. Andrea Farrell says:

I give my Mother Cantharis for the stinging pain of her leg ulcer, plus Hypericum 200c as needed. However I never thought that may be Kali Mur may be beneficial. why do I give her Cantharis? would you believe that Dermatologist use cantharis for their burn patients, that how I came across its uses for her leg ulcer. It does help but I think I will be topping her up with Kali Mur next time she is in pain. Your Mom was so lucky Joette, a patient in the GP practice I used to work in years ago poured boiling fat all over her hand. Fortunately the good doctor sent her to A and E and fortunately she healed well, miraculously no homeopathy that time but I swear if I ever get a burn I go for Homeopathy. I will tell you something else. I somehow got a very thin piece of onion skin in my eye, it sting like anything and my eye was bright red. There was nothing in the eye I must have cried and rinsed the onion skin out. I went for Cantharis 30c and I was amazed no pain, no redness absoloutely amazed. Happy New Year
