Hold Back Your Child’s Development: Give ’em a Pill

Have you ever noticed that when your child can’t get on a bike and ride it, he’s upset and frustrated? And soon after, he gets sick with a cold or fever or chickenpox? Have you ever noticed that when your daughter just can’t get a handle on her math tables no matter how hard she tries, soon after, she comes down with a stomach bug?

Well, I have.

And if you know what to look for in holistic health, it can be an exquisite thing to behold. Childhood illness often appears right at the pinnacle of a developmental shift.

After the illness, comes the fruit. He can get on his bike and ride like the wind within a few days of the illness — something he couldn't achieve for weeks. Now, she can memorize her times' tables with aplomb.

It begs the question that if we take away the signs of illness via artificial means, are we depriving our children of natural and significant events in their lives?

If I’m wrong, then I’ll stand corrected. If I’m right though, then normal childhood illnesses are gifts: gifts of immunity and of development. Think about it … perhaps
it’s better to grow the way Mother Nature intended than with concocted serums or chemical stews that hold back forward movement.

As we start the New Year, our focus is on progress and where the future might take us. I know that for my family and many other families like mine who have chosen to
take charge of their health care, real progress only came when we chose to give up our reliance on second-rate medical care that only suppressed symptoms and didn't
offer real cure.

Choose this year to embrace true wellness with homeopathy.

Joette laughingI am a homeopath with a worldwide practice working with families and individuals via Zoom. I'm also a teacher and most importantly, a mom who raised my now-adult children depending on homeopathy over the last 31 years. I lived decades of my life with food intolerances, allergies, and chemical sensitivities until I was cured with homeopathy, so I understand pain, anxiety, and suffering. You may feel that your issues are more severe or different than anyone else’s, but I have seen it all in my practice and in my work in India. My opinion is that nothing has come close to the reproducible, safe and effective results that my clients, students and I have achieved with homeopathy.

Call today and learn how homeopathy might just be the missing piece in your health strategy.

Joette is not a physician and the relationship between Joette and her clients is not of prescriber and patient, but as educator and client. It is fully the client's choice whether or not to take advantage of the information Joette presents. Homeopathy doesn't "treat" an illness; it addresses the entire person as a matter of wholeness that is an educational process, not a medical one. Joette believes that the advice and diagnosis of a physician is often in order.

I’ve noticed this, too. I have 4 kids, and it’s like clockwork: illness, then developmental growth.

Joette, I really appreciate your emails and blogs. This is the first time I’ve encountered this idea and although I am a mother of two, I have never noticed it and neither has my husband. Soooo, where would I find more info to read about this?

    Thanks!

Rudolph Steiner made a point of this in his teachings regarding the development of the child. You might find more info in realtion to his works. I don’t have titles as its been decades since i read anything related to him, but any perceptive pediatircian will concur. You might try one of my favorite pediatricians, Dr. Robert Mendelsohn.

this post is based on what facts? just curious it just seems like its purely opinion.

    1. admin says:

This is a pattern that I have seen repeated over and over with many children in my years of being a homeopathic consultant.

It is indeed my opinion….just as a conventional pediatrician’s opinion is that antibiotics are a good choice for children’s infections. My opinion and that of others is based on years of raising my now grown boys, and in working with thousands of moms for the last 18 years.
When I first noted it in my boys, I asked my mother and eldery aunts if they ever noted it and they said, “Of course!” One aunt said, “What do you think childhood illness is for?” These are the women of old who were home to make the observations and also make their garlic brews instead of tendering drugs.

So, i’d say it’s an observed phenonmenon that is worthy of our attention.

I’ll bet you’ll note it too; once you’re looking for it.

  4. Jill says:

Bravo, Joette! I agree wholeheartedly, and have observed the same in my children (who are 19 and 17 now). We have made the shift more fully away from conventional medical care, even for checkups, focusing instead on building ourselves up with real food and a healthy lifestyle. I have recently purchased The Complete Homeopathy Handbook, Nutrition and Physical Degeneration, and a couple books on growing and using medicinal herbs to assist with healthy independence even more. I am making most of our own personal care and household cleaning products as well. I think the more we can “unplug from the machine” the better off we’ll be!

Wow! I’ve heard this before but I think we just saw it in our 3 year old son. He got his first ear infection just before the holidays and we gave him clay baths and some belladonna from the grocery store. (Need to get a kit.) He knocked out the infection and congestion very quickly and it was like his vocabulary and conversational skills doubled right after. We’ve all been shocked at how sophisticated his conversations suddenly became but now it makes perfect sense. His little body fought the illness and his mental well being embraced the victory.

  6. Casey says:

In our house we used to say, “teething/growth spurt” when our young children got fussy for no apparent reason. We could usually count on two things – teething followed by a growth spurt.

  7. Hollie says:

So… where does one get chicken pox these days? Our 10 year old was never vaccinated against them, but hasn’t gotten them since everyone else does vaccinate. This question has been on my mind for years. Thanks for all your insight. It’s been very helpful.

    1. admin says:

But your feelers out for moms of like minds who allow their children to get their natural immunity via the real thing. You can meet them most frequently via your local family farmer, local homeopathy classes, your coop, etc.
      Happy chicken pox!

  8. Shea says:

Wow. Just went through the first “unchecked” fever with our four year old son. It was scary, but he woke up this morning looking almost 100% when yesterday he was just TOXIC. We’ve been getting progressively more “off the grid” since he was born, but this was the first time I didn’t control a high fever (103 under the arm)- I had no idea how important they were, but once I read even the first article I found, it was a hand-to-face kind of moment. A very hard thing to put my foot down with my RN mother, who was all but driving to my house and drugging my child against his any my will. Western ideology is one of the most powerful drugs, I’m beginning to see.

  9. I delight in, result in I discovered exactly what I was taking a look for. You have ended my four day lengthy hunt! God Bless you man. Have a nice day. Bye
