Time and again, I hear similar stories from folks who’ve previously tried homeopathy but gave up on it. Why? Unfortunately, they experienced little or no success with the homeopathy they tried.
It’s frustrating that they still have such a poor impression of this powerful paradigm, but it doesn’t surprise me.
Frankly speaking, classical homeopathy is quite complex, and for the neophyte, the results are often not what people had hoped for. I know! I was trained as a classical homeopath, taught and practiced as such for 15 years. Even after years of schooling and study, I was equally disappointed with many clinical outcomes. The success rate simply didn’t meet my expectations either.
The classical homeopath gets only one try to unravel a condition until the next appointment, which is typically scheduled for four to six weeks later (or whatever amount of time the classical homeopath determines is appropriate).
You heard that right: One try. One remedy. One dose. At least, that’s the dogma I learned and diligently tried to put into practice.
I’ve mentioned this in podcasts and other discussions: I was frustrated that I had only one shot. As a classical homeopath, if you don't choose that one medicine precisely — if you don’t get it right — then it's difficult to move on to the other conditions and discomforts.
Then, there was the looming worry about aggravations … and fears of overdosing … and concern that there might be suppression … and hemming in the client from being able to use a combination remedy for say an acute condition such as leg cramps … and the complexity of trying to find the one similimum based on the psychology of the person, even if it was not part of their suffering …
And.
And.
And.
What’s wrong with this picture? The prescriber is frustrated, and the sufferer remains suffering for too long.
However, the Practical Homeopath™ can put together a schedule that includes, for example, three medicines to address the full range of the sufferer’s complaints. One would be for the main complaint (let’s say, in this case, arthritis), another could be for anxiety, and the third might be to resolve insomnia.
Yes, in Practical Homeopathy®, we can use a medicine for each of those issues at the same time, without waiting weeks in between. And trust me, we’re generally going to hit it out of the ballpark with at least one of them!
When a Practical Homeopath is able to provide relief quickly, it not only lends credibility to homeopathy but also gives the sufferer hope. They recognize, “Oh my gosh, the insomnia is gone and even so is the anxiety! Wow! Okay, I still have a measure of arthritis to continue treating, but you know what? I'm not as worried about it because I can sleep now, and I don’t have this chronic anxiety that is hanging over my head all day.”
That’s powerful, my friends.
Perhaps the best way to describe the difference between Practical and classical is:
Practical Homeopathy® is a formulaic system.
Homeopathy is medicine. Plain and simple.
A “system” is what has been needed all along, rather than the esoteric methods I trained, taught, and employed earlier in my career.
But don’t get me wrong. I often say that if someone is seeing a classical homeopath and benefiting, don’t leave that person! There are seasoned classical homeopaths who are studied and adroit at making good decisions. So, I urge folks to stay with anybody who has proven their ability. By all means, stay glued to their side.
However, given the complexity of the classical method, the scales often tilt more towards disappointment due to the lack of results. I hear it time and again from students who are joining The Academy of Practical Homeopathy®: “I tried homeopathy years ago, and I just couldn't crack it. I couldn't crack the code.”
My friends, it should not be like that. Mothers, grandmothers, dads and practitioners need to have access to how to treat chronic conditions, not just acutes.
Additionally, because of the nomenclature that has often been used, classical homeopathy has unwittingly led people to believe that homeopathy is new age, and nothing could be further from the truth. Yet some remain convinced that homeopathy is a mysterious branch of holistic remedies and concoctions. No.
It’s medicine. It’s not intuitive; it’s left-brained.
Practical Homeopathy® is logical and formulaic: This is the condition. This is the medicine. This is the potency. This is the frequency. And within a certain amount of time in 80% of cases, this is what you can often expect.
I can impart my knowledge in Practical Homeopathy® to mothers and others just like you far more easily than I could teach classical, as clearly evidenced by my blog. Of course, I don't delve into complicated situations or conditions on the blog and other public venues; I strive to make it as simple as possible.
However, if you're ready to go deeper, I provide numerous offerings in my Learning Center, enabling you to take your next step on the pathway to freedom and discover how these medicines can be effectively utilized in this often formulaic, reproducible method.
It’s up to you to find your place. I will meet you wherever you are.
If my free blogs, podcasts and Monday Night Lives are enough for now, you can stay there. I will continue to provide free information every week for as long as I’m able.
If you’re ready for a more complete, foundational study experience with other like-minded folks (in the same way I began my lifelong interest in this paradigm), then the Gateway to Practical Homeopathy®: A Guided Study Group Curriculum is just what you’re looking for.
If you’d prefer to continue learning in a more candid setting within my private membership enclave, without committing to a class schedule, then my Mighty Members is the place for you. Or maybe you’re ready to dive into a condition-specific protocol course.
It’s often considered difficult to lasso human health and medicine, but Practical Homeopathy® is a well-worn pathway to follow. All it takes is commitment, passion, and some time spent learning — enjoyably learning. As you’ve no doubt heard me say before, “Homeopathy is intellectually delicious.” That’s not a tag line; that’s how I genuinely feel. Nothing makes me happier (except my new grandbaby, of course) than poring over my repertory and materia medica.
If you’re ready to learn Practical Homeopathy® — and I mean really LEARN Practical Homeopathy® — I invite you to apply to my Academy of Practical Homeopathy® through this link. Warmly,
Thank you Joette. You really do understand our frustrations. I have practiced alternative type medicine for years but have often times had little success. I was told years ago that use of mint would stop the effect homeopathic medicine. Is that true? Keeping people away from mint (i.e., toothpaste), etc. This caused me much frustrations. I have taken a few classes from you years ago and learned a lot. Unfortunately, I don’t have the money to take any more. But love to learn from your various posts. Thanks for all that you do.
Mint may indeed halt the action of a homeopathic. However, when using the method I teach which includes repetition, instead of depending on only one dose, the chance of antidoting is not only lessened but is generally not a concern.
