Joette Calabrese, Practical Homeopathy®, Squirrel! A Practical Homeopathy® Success Story of a Little Furry Friend

Friends, I’ve said it before: Homeopathy is an equal opportunity healing modality. No speciesism here. Whether the sufferer is a man, woman, infant, senior, cow, camel, dog or even a squirrel, our well-chosen homeopathic medicines act in the same polite, effective, reproducible manner.

Case in point: I received an email from one of my Gateway to Practical Homeopathy® study group students that perfectly illustrates how additional education can help anyone be prepared for unexpected illness or injury.

It may be your family who needs you as their healer, or it could be a friend or co-worker. In this case, it was one of our furry friends who needed help, and this Practical Homeopathy® student knew just what to do.

Just look at his cute little face, fingers and toes, as you read the fascinating story in her own words.

The Squirrel

“So yesterday afternoon, I noticed a squirrel messing around with the squirrel baffle on my bird feeder. It seemed like he was trying to kick it off or something because he was really working at it!

“Then my teenaged son went outside to see what he was doing, and we realized he was caught – the fingers of both of his “hands” were caught in the seam of the squirrel baffle! He was flipping all around and squeaking, and it was all pretty horrifying, so I went inside and got a blanket, and my son got a screwdriver and between the two of us, managed to catch him and pry the baffle open enough to free his poor little mangled paws.

“I sent my son in to get a glass of water, and we put in a dose of Arnica 200 and Aconite 200, stirred it up, and managed to drip a few drops in his mouth.

“I had a wound spray made of water with Calendula, Arnica, and Hypericum that we sprayed on his poor little hands.

“Then we popped him in a dog carrier and let him hide out under the blanket while we looked for a wildlife rehabber (I have cats, so I didn't want them catching him if he couldn't climb trees well).

“When we got to the rehabber about an hour and a half later, he was still hiding out under the blanket – until the rehabber tried to get him out! Then he started to zip around in the crate, and when the rehabber managed to net him, found the tiniest hole in the net, squeezed through, parkoured off my son, and CLIMBED A TREE!

“Our last sight of him was about 25 feet up an oak.

“The rehabber couldn't catch him and said he'd keep an eye out for him and try to give him some nuts with antibiotics if he could. (I have my doubts that he'll ever see him again!)

“I was so amazed that those poor little mangled fingers were ready to work after so little time! Homeopathy (and tough squirrels) for the win!

“(This is after many, MANY semi-comatose lizards that my cats have brought in, treated with a dose of Aconite and a dose of Carbo veg in a little dish of water that we soak their bellies in and sit them in the sun, leading to miraculous revivals!)”

Well done, Beth. I’m sure that you and your son have attained hero status among your backyard residents … not to mention your family and friends (and probably one impressed animal rehabber).

You are well on the pathway to health freedom through Practical Homeopathy®.

I urge everyone to follow your example and be ready for anything. As I’ve said before, accidents don’t make appointments. We must be prepared for anything … at any time. Preparation is one of the beauties of this intellectually delicious study.

P.S. If you have not yet joined a Gateway to Practical Homeopathy® study group, my friend, what are you waiting for? The time to prepare is NOW, and new study groups are forming all the time.

Order your study guide today, and you’ll be directed to a list of study group leaders, including my experienced Ambassadors who are forming classes.

I learned homeopathy through a study group, and it’s a method I recommend wholeheartedly. Learning with others not only gives you a glimpse into conditions your family may not have experienced (yet) and also provides a close-knit support group to stand with you when trouble arises.

You never know when a squirrel — or a loved one — may need your help.

  1. Excellent! Lucky squirrel.
Do you have place where you list
which homeopathics make up a kit to have around?

  2. Just this week I saved a baby bunny 🐰 from the pool after being chased by a cat. I used the pool net to get it out and grabbed a towel to swaddle it. The bunny was in shock and very cold, so I happen to have a hot water bottle to rest him on. While it was drying, I started making a water dose of Aconite 30 in a very small spray bottle and sprayed his fur, paws and nose. The baby bunny wasn’t responding as well as I was hoping, he became ridged and shaking. So I popped in Carbo Veg 30 in the same spray bottle as the aconite and dosed again but more focused on its nose and paws. After an hour of be swaddled and sitting on the hot water bottle, the baby bunny responded to some lettuce then jumped out of its cocoon and hopped off into the garden. Homeopathy to the rescue! 🛟
