She not only looked pregnant, Daisy felt pregnant, too. She wasn’t, but her belly was so large, even her neighbor asked when the baby was due.
Imagine her embarrassment in having to explain she was not, in fact, expecting. It's safe to say the whole encounter was uncomfortable for both Daisy and her neighbor.
No matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t get rid of her big belly. At first, she figured it was a sensitivity to gluten, so she did what most do when they believe gluten to be the culprit: she eliminated it completely from her diet.
Yet despite keeping track of every morsel she ate and every calorie she consumed, she didn't lose a pound.
Not only did she not lose any weight, she found the mere thought of dieting so deflating, she began to justify indulging in pastries and chocolates on a fairly regular basis. And then there was the frequent indigestion.
Daisy felt fat, frumpy and frustrated.
She decided to take matters into her own hands by trying a new method of addressing her stubborn weight problems, particularly those associated with gas, acidity, certain food intolerances and this unexplained weight gain.
This consisted of using a homeopathic medicine in tandem with a few simple food swaps. The same method has worked for many (though not all) people whose symptoms were similar to hers.
Daisy began her new regimen by taking a dose of Nat phos 6X before every meal. She took it while preparing her food and continued to eat as she normally would (sort of), minus any gluten and sugary desserts.
However, she also added a small amount of fermented vegetables (in her case, sauerkraut) to each meal. In doing so, she immediately noticed a marked decrease in her indigestion; within days, it was entirely absent.
The burping stopped, too. Rather than an unpleasant addition to her daily diet, sauerkraut became Daisy's new favorite vegetable instead. It also helped eliminate her once constant cravings for good.
Over the next couple of weeks, Daisy noticed her jeans felt a little looser and she felt a little lighter. When she stepped on the scale, she was thrilled to notice a 6-pound loss!
This was enough motivation to keep her going. She soon, incorporated bone stock into her daily routine, always with her Nat phos 6X about 10 minutes before mealtime.
Within a few weeks, she had lost a total of 13 pounds. The best part, according to Daisy, was how effortless it felt. No hunger pangs, no unnecessary caloric restrictions, …just wholesome results.
The last time Daisy and I spoke, she reported she hopes to lose another 7 pounds, for a total loss of 20.
I’m certain she’ll succeed.
Will Daisy’s strategy work for everyone?
Probably not.
Is it worth a try?
I think so.
When acidity accompanied by bloating and sweet cravings is a problem, along with weight struggles, Nat phos 6X is a good bet.
If you decide to follow Daisy’s simple program, give it several weeks and let me know how you do.

I am a homeopath with a worldwide practice working with families and individuals via Zoom. I'm also a teacher and most importantly, a mom who raised my now-adult children depending on homeopathy over the last 31 years. I lived decades of my life with food intolerances, allergies, and chemical sensitivities until I was cured with homeopathy, so I understand pain, anxiety, and suffering. You may feel that your issues are more severe or different than anyone else’s, but I have seen it all in my practice and in my work in India. My opinion is that nothing has come close to the reproducible, safe and effective results that my clients, students and I have achieved with homeopathy.
Call today and learn how homeopathy might just be the missing piece in your health strategy.

Homeopathy doesn't "treat" an illness; it addresses the entire person as a matter of wholeness that is an educational process, not a medical one. By “acidity” do you mean acidity or acid reflux?
Acidity is anything that might present as a response that causes acid, so yes, both of those.
I see- thanks for that info!
Hi Joette- How many Nat Phos is a recommended dose? Thank you!
Thanks joette I was taking Nat phos 6x after meals for indigestion and gerd but will try this!
I was about to start the lycopodium 200 and ars alb 3 and bovista 200 to help my digestion and intolerances, would these all work well together?
If they are indicated they may used simultaneously.
How much does one take of nat phos 6x? Love the tips but when there is no dosing info.
What good does it do? There is no start point for ex: 2-4 pellets per dose…. Help!
Thanks for sharing!! Keep up the great work!
THe number of pills that equals a dose is print on the side of the bottle. This is so for all of homeopathics.
Do you happen to know approximately how much saukerkraut Daisy was eating? Was it something like a 1/2 cup or just a few tablespoons (Condiment serving)?
Sauerkraut is usually eaten as a condiment, so about a T or so.
Regarding the question about sauerkraut; it is a high histamine food so if you currently have sensitivities and/or reactions to histamines you should approach it cautiously. It is LOADED with good bacteria so a little will go a long way in the GI tract. I started my son (15 y/o) on sauerkraut and all he could “handle” was a 1/4 tsp every 2 days.
Bone broth can also be a high histamine food, unfortunately. 🙁 I think the key is to not cook the bones too long and to freeze it in small amounts because when it sits in the fridge for a few days the histamines increase.
I agree but that is not a concern except for those with a histamine intolerance.
if someone tends to have histamine responses to foods like sauerkraut or bone broth, would apis or ledum be good remedies to help with that?
It depends on the response. Does it cause urticaria? anaphylaxis? eczema? joint pain? brain fog?
Anytime someone has a allergies or food intolerance I strongly urge them to consider going to JoettesLearningCenter.com, scroll down to my online courses titled “Good Gut Bad Gut” and “Allergic” and then dive in. The method I teach in these courses is what I used to uproot my own lifetime of allergies, not to mention thousands of others.
Where could I get Nat phos 6X?
Amazon
Is there a difference for this recommended protocol between Nat Phos 6x (the cell salt from Hyland’s, for instance) and Nat Phos 6x (the homeopathic remedy from Boiron, for instance)?
Nat phos 6x is Nat phos 6x, no matter who makes it.
On the weight loss graphic you lost the Nat Phos and Graphites 200. Would you try them both simultaneously? How often for Graphites? And should you do NatPhos and sauerkraut ever time you eat anything or just at meal times?
This blog is very timely for me. For the past week I’ve been feeling very bloated and full. I’ve never felt this way for so long and was getting very worried. I too thought it might be a gluten sensitivity, but that test came back normal. I will certainly try the Nat Phos 6x (4 pellets make a serving) before meals and a Tablespoon-size serving of sauerkraut at dinner. Would bitters each night be helpful, too? Thanks, Joette!
Thank you Maggie for showing a serving size is 4 pellets!! I’ve been waiting… thanks again! 🙂
In response to doses, each manufacturer has different doses, for example, Boiron says take 5 pellets, Hyland says take 4, another one says take three, so it depends on the maker because they are made differently. hope it helps..
My homeopath says that any amount is one dose when taken all at the same time. He says I could take the whole bottle or one pellet and it would equal one dose. It’s a mental thing that people think they need more than one according to him and way for manufacturers to sell more. So now my remedies last me a lot longer!
The dose of x pellets is in relation to how the pellets are coated. Some processes create inconsistent coating, hence the need for at least five pellets. Some companies have each pellet coated well enough that one pellet is sufficient. It’s best to follow the recommendation on the bottle.
That’s correct Nicole and a note to Ann.
Don’t skimp unless it doesn’t matter whether you miss a dose or two.
Also, don’t try to beat the system. We want to support our homeopathy manufacturing pharmacies.

Hi – I printed off your free “bad gut” “good gut” sheet and am looking for natrum phos 6x as indicated for tendency to gain weight easily – but Washington Homeopathics in dilution (I avoid sugar when I can) doesn’t carry it. Is 10x the next closest dose? Or is 6c better? Thanks!
They often carry the remedies in alcohol, instead of in pills.
Joette – Yes, thanks, you had previously recommended WHP to me, but the problem is that they don’t carry nat phos 6x and I don’t know what to get instead. Thanks so much!! Amy
Check Amazon.
Thanks! Last Q – in taking natrum phos 6x for weight loss, how frequently and for how long? (Until I’m skinny? 🙂 Amy
I don’t know that you’ll get skinny but until you feel you’re where you want to be, or find that it was not in fact the right one for you.
So sorry – I forgot that the post said to take it before meals and to give it several weeks. But can one keep taking it until they are at goal weight? Amy
I invariably forget to take the Nat Phos until the end of my meal. 🙁 At that point, is it useless, or still worth it to take afterward if I forget to take it beforehand?
I find that the best way to know is to try.
Hi Joette –
Sometimes you say that “X” and “C” can be interchanged, though they aren’t the same…is this a time when I could take nat phos 6C instead of 6X, or is the “X” important here? (Since this remedy will be taken very frequently, I would greatly prefer to take this in alcohol instead of sugar and I can’t get 6X in alcohol.)
Thank you for all your help to me and to others!
MOre often than not, they are interchangeable. Particularly for a condition that is not serious, I use what is available.
Thanks, that’s good news for me. I’ll be happier taking 6C in alcohol.
I have read about Nat Phos 6x for weight loss (maybe same place Daisy did) before and that the weight would return after stopping the dosing. Anyone have any feedback who tried this?
The link to register did not work.
Find it on Amazon.
If this helps with weight by reducing acid then would it not be indicated if I am actually currently trying to increase my stomach acid levels? I am thinking I have thrush and that an increase in acidity is what is needed….but I would also like to try tose some weight with nat phos.
I wouldn’t make an assumption of such without evidence. Regardless, Nat phos will not decrease acidity if it is unnecessary. Homeopathy is not manipulative. It’s corrective, so it will simply balance the condition.
Daisy’s diet protocol will work for everyone if they find the right foods to eliminate. I too started with no gluten, it worked a little, but not enough. Then I eliminated dairy, big improvement. Finally, I did remove sugar even tho I ate way less than the average person. 1tsp demarara in my morning coffee and no prepared food products. Maybe a homemade sweet on the weekend. But it was the total absence of added sugar that did it. 2 side benefits were that I realized the awful weeping rashes I’d get were a systemic candida and that went away. I also realized that it wasn’t gluten but yeast that was the culprit in bread so no cheese or wine either 😮 I now can enjoy pasta. I’ve been making bread out of potato flour but I may be allergic to eggs and it really needs them to hold together. I have added back probiotic yogurt with no ill effects. You wouldn’t get me near a spoonful of sauerkraut! So I am going to try to make Irish Soda bread, using the yogurt instead of buttermilk. Just experiment with foods and see which are the bad guys for you. I used to be skeptical about the “evils” of sugar but it really is harmful even in small quantities.
Does it help for underweight too?
It’s not the 1st remedy I think of for that but is certainly a possibility if there’s a problem with acid, etc.
Thank you for the prompt response. What is the safest solution for the underweight related to malabsorbtion of nutrients?
Please suggest remedies or tissue salts for those who are underweight , adults and children.Appetite
average and diet reasonably good. ( i.e very limited junk food)
I cover this rather vast subject in my course, Good GUt, Bad Gut.
Hi, ur article mentions taking Nat Phos 6x BEFORE 3 meals for weight loss. But Jeopathy says otherwise. Taking 3 Nat Phos 6x immediately AFTER meals! I am confused…kindly guide..
Hi, ur article mentions taking Nat Phos 6x three times a day BEFORE meals but Jeopathy mentions it otherwise! It prescribes taking Nat Phos 6x three times AFTER meals. I am confused…ki kind guide.. thanks..
There are many ways this can be done. Employ one way and see how it works. If it doesn’t, try the next.
Thanks, for your prompt reply. Will start the way you say and get back to you soon.. please suggest something for severe hairloss in bunches during Menopause after Hysterectomy. Appreciate your help.
Hello, I have been taking Nat Phos 10 – 15 minutes before meals but unable to loose weight. Have been trying this since 10/12 days. I am little constipated also. I have all the symptoms of AFS but the blood results are all normal. Will Nat Phos help me with AFS and hairloss also? Hoping for the best.
Thanks for your help…
It can take months, sometimes many months before one might see results from a homeopathic for a chronic condition.
If you can get the constipation and fatigue corrected, you might see a shift in weight as well. Should you be interested, check my course, Good Gut, Bad Gut for in-depth teachings on these conditions.
Is there a way to access the info on this summit currently? The link no longer works.
Also, will stubborn excess weight like this be addressed thoroughly in Good Gut Bad Gut? I don’t see any mention of it in the course syllabus.
Thank you!! I love you so much Joette!!! ??
The link has probably been disabled by the summit organizers. This is what happens with summits from the past.
Thanks for your always-helpful blogs, dear Joette.
I just want to add that it’s frequently not the gluten or dairy itself which causes gut and allergic issues, but the many pesticides in conventional wheat crops and antibiotics and other nasties in conventional dairy.
Going organic with both wheat and dairy has solved any allergic issues I may have had with them previously.
I have found the same…organic is tolerated where “non-organic” is very problematic.
GMO is a bigger indicator, IMO. Reason being: the history of using round-up (glyphosate) is to kill weeds, well it affects the crops too so the science “geniuses” figured to alter the DNA of crops to RESIST/WITHSTAND the effect of glyphosate and voila we now have “franken-food”.
Then, additionally, there’s the application of pesticides.
Everyone should be made aware that MOST ALL MASS produced foods are made with either GMO foods and/or treated with pesticides – and most likely BOTH.
A certain pesticide causes the insect that ingests it to “explode” from the gut…or causes the gut to “dissolve”. Makes sense that SOOO many people have digestive issues when considering ALL of the negative things impacting the “food” we ingest, huh?
Can’t find nat phos 6 will nat phos 30 work??
Nat phos 6 can be found on Amazon and your local health food store.
I am confused whether a cell salt 3, 6, 12, etc are the same as a remedy sold in drams 3, 6, 12, etc. so my question is really: are cell salts of the same name as a remedy the same in a dram with pellets. Example: WHP dram of Nat Phos 6c vs Cell Salt Nat phos 6x…I understand that a “C” is different than an “X” . But when you give name with a number without a C or X – how would we know if it’s a cell salt or other? Please, clarify.
C and x are not what defines the medicine as a cell salt or not; only the name. So Nat phos 6x and Nat phos 6c are both cell salts and are close enough in potency to be pretty much interchangeable.
I understand now…. Thanks very much!
i have started taking nat phos 6x lets see
Hey, how did it go with you and the Nat Phos for weight reduction?
Nice post
Hi joette, is there any specific article for weight loss in your blog?. I couldn’t find one..is there any particular medication for weight loss
That’s one of them. There are many based on the specifics of the person.
Is this safe to take while breastfeeding?
Do you have any other weight loss posts?
Have many women found positive results doing this?
I have 50 extra pounds i need to lose from having 5 babies in 4 years.:)
I urge you to do a good deal more reading of my blogs, podcasts and Facebook Lives.
I’m curious… did Daisy lose weight because correcting the acidity & indigestion caused her to consume less quantity and crave better quality? Is that how Nat phos helps in this type of situation? Thank you Mrs. Calabrese!
I can’t say exactly why it worked for her but given that Nat Phos corrects acidity, we can make the assumption that it was related to that imbalance.
Do you have any recommendations for stubborn excess weight but without the acidity?
I cover this condition more thoroughly in my online course titled Good Gut Bad Gut. But sometimes it’s a hormonal and/or emotional issue.
Thanks for the sharing very helpful and details article post with us.
