A Bird in the Hand

My husband and I were at home working recently when … BAM‼ A tiny little bird flew directly into our glass doors.

We immediately jumped up to help him. Luckily, he hadn’t broken his neck, but he certainly was stunned.  I imagined he was seeing stars.

(I’ll say this for him, though. If he had to pick a door to careen into, he picked well by choosing a homeopath’s door.)

You may recall I have taught many times over the years that Arnica montana 200 is the premier homeopathic medicine for first aid — especially for soft tissue, bone and head injuries. And this tiny, dazed bird was most assuredly suffering from a head injury. So, what a marvelous opportunity to practice what I preach (and take pictures, to boot)!

While its likely that the bird would have come around of its own accord eventually, I knew I could help it revive more quickly and thoroughly with homeopathy.

So, while Perry held the semi-conscious bird in his hands, I quickly prepared a wet dose of Arnica. I put four pillules in two ounces of water and swished them around to dissolve them. Then I sucked up a few drops in a clean eyedropper and put the Arnica solution around its beak. He was so out of it that he wouldn’t open his little beak to drink the solution, so I placed more drops all around his wee, little face to ensure that some of the Arnica would be absorbed into his system.

It didn’t take long until the Arnica did its job!

Our little bird-buddy began to regain consciousness and soon appeared ready to be released back into the world — no doubt a bit wiser for the event. (I hope he shared his newfound knowledge of glass doors with all his feathery friends.)

You know glass doors (while beautiful) are often a menace to animals AND humans. I know several folks who have “unexpectedly encountered” glass doors with a sickening thud. Unfortunately, we all get in a hurry sometimes, and that’s when accidents happen.

But the beauty of homeopathy is that it doesn’t discriminate based on species. So, no matter whether it’s a bird, dog, cat, chicken, camel, llama or the next-door neighbor who slams headfirst into a set of sliders, Arnica montana is an equal opportunity medicine. It provides the impetus the body needs to recover from the trauma.

If you’d like to see how homeopathic Arnica montana is created — from harvest to tube — you might enjoy this little video from our friends at Boiron.

No doubt, Arnica is an essential medicine to have on hand. Accidents happen when we least expect them, so being prepared is our best insurance against lasting injury.

How do you prepare? Easy! By learning everything you possibly can about homeopathy so that it’s ingrained in your memory when needed — or at the very least, you have a reference book at your fingertips to look up the condition and associated medicine.

To that end, I developed a guided curriculum for you to learn the basics of homeopathy in a study group environment with others. It’s called Gateway to Homeopathy*, and Arnica montana is one of the featured medicines I teach in the module on first aid.

I consider it a blueprint for taking your family to health independence.

The sentiment I hear most often from my students is that once they get a grip on using homeopathy, they find they no longer fear injuries and illnesses. Instead, they resolve these conditions easily, inexpensively and pleasantly.

Independence from most health concerns allows our lives to take a radical turn. One that is more productive and creative instead of cowering, submissive and wrought with anxiety.

I know of no better way to learn homeopathy than with others. It’s how I learned! Decades ago, I created a study group with like-minded individuals, and we became fast, enduring, supportive friends.

You know, recently, I was reminded of a quote from Paul Williams that was reminiscent of the dynamic of Gateway study groups. He said, “There’s not a word yet for old friends who’ve just met.”

That describes Gateway in a nutshell! Believe me, the people you will meet in your study group will soon be your “old friends.”

So, pass on the good news of homeopathy! And tell them a “little bird” told you!

Warmly,

Joette Calabrese

*The time to meet your study group friends is now! Unfortunately, with the rapidly rising costs of paper, ink, postage, servicing our printer and labor to maintain the content, we will be forced to raise our prices on Gateway Study Group Curriculums I and II and Materia Medica, effective November 1, 2022.

But until then, you have a short window of opportunity to purchase these items at today’s prices. So, if you want to join a Gateway Study Group or learn more about over 150 homeopathic medicines in Materia Medica: Practical Homeopathy® for Busy Families, take advantage of this offer now — before the prices increase. Then, in short order, you’ll have some old friends whom you’ve just met (just as Paul Williams described)!

10/16/22 Head Injury

I am a homeopath with a worldwide practice working with families and individuals via Zoom. I'm also a teacher and most importantly, a mom who raised my now-adult children depending on homeopathy over the last 31 years. I lived decades of my life with food intolerances, allergies, and chemical sensitivities until I was cured with homeopathy, so I understand pain, anxiety, and suffering. You may feel that your issues are more severe or different than anyone else’s, but I have seen it all in my practice and in my work in India. My opinion is that nothing has come close to the reproducible, safe and effective results that my clients, students and I have achieved with homeopathy.

Call today and learn how homeopathy might just be the missing piece in your health strategy.

I have used Arnica followed by Cicuta for two squirrels with head trauma that left them unable to stand or walk. The second is with me now and after a week of care including better diet and physical therapy too, this animal is walking almost normally. He arrived listless, laying on his side, unable to hold his head up. The first was a red squirrel who probably ran into a car and I found him on the road trying to get up but going in circles. In a week he was ready to go.

I love this. My son and I have been able to assist 3 or 4 birds, including one hummer that crashed into our picture window. After two birds died, I bought two small spray bottles and started keeping Aconite and Arnica in them in the fridge. So when we hear a loud thud on the window,we grab our little bottles and head out to search for where the poor birds landed and begin administering homeopathy. It’s such a joy to see them come around and fly off!

And they insist that it’s only a placebo!
      Nice job!

I love how homeopathy works on animals so effectively! We had a mink get into our hen house. It attacked 7 hens – killing 5 and leaving 2 badly injured – the mink had chewed on their heads and necks. I was going to go ahead and put the poor hens out of their misery, but figured it was worth a shot to try homeopathy first. Daily, I gave them multiple doses of aconite, arnica, and ledum. By the fourth day, they were back in the hen house (and are doing great now 9 months later)!

How awesome! This same thing happened to my family while we were vacationing in the Smokies just last month. Our cabin had huge windows on one side, and one morning we heard that same loud “BAM” sound! Was so sad to see a pretty bird out cold on the deck. I always travel with plenty remedies, so quickly prepared arnica 200 in water. This bird’s neck was odd looking at first, so I wasn’t sure I could help. I put some arnica drops around it’s beak, and within a couple minutes, it opened it’s eyes. We made a small bed in a tissue box to keep the bird warm, and with my young daughters help kept giving the bird more arnica. It took about 15 – 20 minutes, but the birdie finally flew away. Such a great feeling!

Such a heady experience to help the suffering!

I love how you saved your little bird, Joette! It’s good to have little eye droppers on hand, too, because you just never know.
And speaking of Boiron, some “Scientific Integrity Group” (most likely a front for drug companies) is suing Boiron over their claim that it cures pain. The article is at Medpagetoday.com. The group is called a “non-profit scientific advocacy group.” And a judge is shamelessly allowing the suit to continue.

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH says:

      I’m familiar with the suit.
It’s all about the competition going after their competition.

Thank you for the lovely Arnica/Boiron video. I hold such a reverence in my heart for homeopathy after 35 years using and studying, this made me cry. Mother Earth provides it all and thank you Joette for your vital part in, disseminating the magical information.

Dear Joette, My story isn’t about Arnica but I believe it would help others. My sister’s cat ended up with a terrible wound on it’s head. She took “Griffin” into the vet to get it cleaned and stitches. The vet wanted to put “Griffin” on strong antibiotics. Because of your classes, I recommended Homeopathics to my sister and she trusted me. So when she brought “Griffin” home I got to be the caretaker as she had to leave for the weekend. I decided to use Hepar Sulph 6x in the wet dose, 2-3 times a day, 4 pellets in 4 oz of water in a spray bottle. I chose this homeopathic because of the vet wanting to use antibiotics. By the way the vet told my sister her cat would probably die of infection because she wasn’t going to use the antibiotics. So, here I am taking care of my sister’s cat. By the way he doesn’t like people so I had to coax him out from under her bed. Once I got ahold of him, I sprayed his wound, top of his head and eye area. He wasn’t to happy with me and ran off as soon as I was done. I thought how am I going to apply the next dose. Well, It was very easy, Griffin came right to me like he new what was good for him. By the time my sis was back on Sunday, he was healing and hair was starting to grow. She took him for a check-up and the Vet of course expected to see a highly infected Cat, but no Griffin was healing just fine. They asked and my sis just told them my sister used Homeopathics. Well, this brings me to my chicken story. My sister was out at our niece’s ranch, she found a chicken that was being pecked to death by the other chickens. It had all of it’s feathers pecked off and a partial wing and bleeding badly. My sis, said you need to try the homeopathics that was used on my Cat. They put the chicken in a cage by itself, used the wet dose of Hepar Sulph supposably 2-3 times a day. I say supposably because later my niece fessed up and said she applied it maybe once a day. End of this story the Chicken is alive. Grew back all it’s feathers and most o it’s wing and they now call it “Chicken Nugget”. Last but not least, A Cient came into my shop, who is related to my niece. Yeah, I heard about the Cat and the Chicken. Can you help me with my infected tooth? Which he contacted after his dentist appointment. I said, well let’s give it a try. He sprayed the wet dose of Hepar Sulph in his mouth plus took 4 pellets 2-3 times daily Until Very Much Better. He called me 3 days later to say his tooth didn’t hurt anymore and believed his infection was gone. By the way the dentist wanted to put him on antibiotics. This gentleman doesn’t believe in antibiotics because of gut health. Joette,I wish to thank you for everything you do. I love your classes, It takes me awhile to complete them, but I am so grateful for the opportunity and the Knowledge.

    1. Suzanne says:

      Such awesome stories, Yvonne!

Thank you for sharing them with us!

We have some lovely black silhouettes of birds on the main windown incase little birds go bam into the glass. I will remember arnica in the future and I love the way you administered it. I had equal success rubbing rescue remedy on my Mothers wrist before a procedure she was so calm throughout.
