For many, my Gateway to Practical Homeopathy®: A Guided Study Group Curriculum has opened the pathway to health freedom, as students come to the invaluable realization that they can hold in their own hands the ability to treat their families’ ills … themselves.
It all began ten years ago.
It’s hard to believe, but in 2016, I wrote the inaugural edition of the Gateway to Homeopathy. I intended for it to be what reading, writing and arithmetic are to proper, traditional fundamental education: the principles that will stay with you for a lifetime … the tools and resources you need most.
Within a month, over 350 students had joined study groups, and I knew immediately that we were onto something.
You see, even as far back as ten years ago, there was a societal yearning to discover an alternative to conventional Western medicine, a desire for health care autonomy, and a hunger to learn homeopathy via a less esoteric, less complex methodology.
During my studies under the Banerjis — medical doctors whose clinic in Kolkata, India, treated over a thousand patients a day with homeopathy — I promised Dr. Pratip that I would bring homeopathy into the home by teaching mothers, grandmothers and others everything I possibly could.
And I’ve kept my promise, starting with the Gateway to Homeopathy.
A proof-of-concept decades in the making
The way I initially learned homeopathy almost 40 years ago was effective and exhilarating because I wasn’t alone. A group of friends and I started a study group. We met every week for years, comparing notes, asking questions, discovering answers and learning, learning, learning.
My little group found it advantageous to use a now-out-of-print homeopathic study guide to ensure we all were studying the same information every week. We all were on the same page, literally and figuratively. And by being on the same page, we could remain focused on what we needed to learn. It also augmented our learning because the guide incorporated the perspectives of other great minds in the field.
So, years later, I wrote Gateway to Homeopathy as a means to guide others in replicating that same, successful learning method. The Gateway was (and continues to be) a study guide that takes individuals by the hand through foundational lessons in homeopathy. Once complete, a student is well on their way to developing the skills to become the health care provider for their family and friends.
From humble beginnings
In 2016, we were a small, bootstrapped company. My office was attached to my home — a converted garage. My team, including Shannon and Eileen (whom many of you know from calls into my office), my husband, my kids and I spent countless hours printing, collating, hole-punching, spiral-binding and shipping the Gateway to Homeopathy study guides.
Yes. We did everything ourselves.
To hear Eileen tell the tale, punching those holes was the hardest part. It took tremendous arm strength to punch even just a few pages of each 175+ page book at a time. Then, any spare moment we had away from clients or the phones was spent on the tedious work of installing and bending the spiral binder.
The entire process was time-consuming, yes. But it was such fulfilling work … knowing that our cause was bigger than any of us. We were changing society, one home at a time.
We were riding a wave. I truly believe we've contributed to the wave, but I also believe this has been an organic wave, too, because people are still looking for alternatives.
A seismic shift in thinking
The world has shifted, my friends. People have had it with the old ways. People are now questioning, and that’s good. When we don't question, we more easily fall into other people’s agendas — agendas that are not always in our best interest.
We know we're making a difference when schools and even other homeopaths want to associate with us. We've reached a point where we’re recognized, and we have the Gateway to thank. Our study group curriculum raised the visibility — not so much of us, per se — but rather of regular folks just like you using homeopathy in the home. That’s Practical Homeopathy®.
Indeed, learning homeopathy is the anti-anxiety remedy for moms. Instead of falling into, “My baby’s sick! I don't know what to do. What should I do? I need somebody to help me!” educated moms can handle a childhood illness on their own. Instead of running to the ER or taking a synthetic drug of commerce, Mom knows what to do.
And for the record, Dads can know what to do, too! In 2022, we had our first all-male Gateway study group. Since then, even more men have joined our movement.
The educational confidence that Gateway to Practical Homeopathy® provides is soothing to any parent who’s freaking over family illnesses, while also checking the box of much-needed community. Associating with like-minded people in a study group allows students to grow together by sharing the ups, downs, successes and victories.
Plus, having a trusted study group partner to text in the middle of the night can be a true lifeline when baby’s crying, and mom and dad’s minds aren’t functioning in top form.
As time marched on, a companion study guide was born: Gateway to Practical Homeopathy® II
To add to the foundational education in the Gateway curriculum in 2019, I wrote a companion volume: Gateway to Homeopathy II. This continuing education covers topics such as the manufacturing processes of homeopathic remedies, liquid dosing, Mother Tinctures, cell salts and the use of higher potencies. Plus, you’ll learn how to address colds and flu, headaches, allergies, and homeopathy for emergencies.
And a new revision of Gateway to Practical Homeopathy® I
As you probably know, homeopathy is not capricious. It’s not a flavor of the month that changes with the wind. Indeed, homeopathic medicines have been studied and employed for 230 years. The Cinchona officinalis Hahnemann used in the late 1700s is the same Cinchona officinalis we use today.
However, through the decades I’ve been in professional practice, I synthesized my clinical observations, my work with the Banerji doctors in India, the French protocols, Joe De Livera’s “Joepathy,” and a full measure of repertorization into a fully realized system — Practical Homeopathy®. I believe this simplified method is not only practical but also essential for the future of homeopathy.
So, in 2023, I revised the original Gateway to Homeopathy I to include my honed methodology, updated teaching techniques, and more protocols. The Gateway to Practical Homeopathy® I, Second Edition, has been even more popular than the first. So much so, in fact, that we have translated the Gateway study guide into Spanish and, coming soon, into German.
