Sore throats are best treated by giving a dose of the correct remedy every 4-8 hours for 1-3 days until relief is obtained. Gargling with warm salt water is a good way to help keep the throat clean and move towards completion. Strep throat sounds threatening but is often quickly relieved by sound homeopathic treatment (in one to three days). I am not a proponent of antibiotic use and find them to be suppressive and dangerous. If, however, you have already begun, I urge you to continue for the entire duration prescribed. Otherwise, the infection will often return with a vengeance. In my experience, the infections usually return at some time in the future if suppressive methods such as antibiotics are employed. Homeopathics can still be used successfully in conjunction with antibiotic treatment and will minimize in the recurrence of the disease.

This is great info. Can you share HOW use these and WHERE to purchase them? Do I go to my local herb store? Are there things we should and shouldn’t mix together?
Thanks

Thank you for your comment. Theresa. Homeopathic remedies can often be purchased at health food stores. In acute situations of sore throats, it has been recommended that if improvement is not seen after four doses of a specific remedy, another one should be tried. For beginners, it is best to only use one homeopathic remedy at a time. If sore throats are a chronic condition, meaning one is prone to them over and over, then constitutional homeopathic care is recommended. Homeopathy works on the totality of symptoms that are individual to the person. Hence, in chronic situations, the case must be taken in order to discover which remedy suits the person….not the pathology. There are numerous tools for learning about homeopathy on our website if you wish to learn more. Also, try googling “Joette Calabrese – sore throats” to find our articles on the subject. Best of health to you.

My 5 year old son started with a sore throat around 7 pm today, he told me he’s throat felt weird when he swallowed, I assumed it was sore. At around 9:30 pm he really started acting very irritated and whining, then I remembered that he’s school teacher explained she got sick with strep throat, so as other kids in the classroom. I read in other source about strep throat and got little bit concerned, don’t like using antibiotics, but the complications from the illness looks overwellming. I rather not use antibiotics, specially because about a year ago when my son had a ruptured appendisitis he received 2 kind of antibiotics 3 times a day for 15 days on his iv, so after the surgery I started to give him probiotics every day for few months to restore his good bacteria again. I checked your site to research on strep throat remedies and found you don’t recomed antibiotics 4 this either. I have a 2 year old and a 1 year old babies @ h ome, so if I don’t use antibiotics on my son how do I keep the little ones from getting it.
Continuation. I took a loock @ my son’s throat and it looks red, swollen tonsils and on the left tonsil looks like he has a yellow spot little smaller than a lentel grain, can’t tell if is a sore or pus spot. It seamed it was hearting because he was very unconftable, I gave him 3 pellets of Belladona 30c. Like 20 min. Later he was saying he was sleepy and whent to bed. I have a questions, I just started to use homeopathy about a year ago, don’t have much experience, is it dangerous if I don’t use the antibiotics for strp throat on my 5 year old? Is there a higher risk on 2 and 1 year old babies if they get strep throat and don’t use antibiotics to treat it? For how many days and how often do I use the Belladonna to treat strept throat?
These are the kinds of situations that I teach in my online class or directly with folks as clients. Unfortunately, this is too complex to answer in this setting. If interested in my yearlong class called How to Raise a Drug Free Family, or to schedule an appointment, let me know and I’ll be happy to get you up and running.”
“Homeopathics can still be used successfully in conjunction with antibiotic treatment and will minimize in the recurrence of the disease.”
Do you mean we can use allopathy and homeopathy at a time ??
Please elaborate .
Thanks
Generally speaking, would you recommend a dilution of 30c? Sorry, didn’t see that here.
