Here’s a little exchange I recently had with a student of mine.
QUESTION: Based on what I have learned from your webinars, I used Chamomilla 200C with great success on my granddaughter. She had a really bad ear infection and within an hour (and after two doses), she fell into peaceful sleep. This was after nearly two days of screaming and crying and a history of this, which had been treated repeatedly with antibiotics. It’s been nearly a year and she’s not had another incident since. This is pretty significant, given she had practically lived on antibiotics for the last year or so for repeated infections.
However, around that last incident, my daughter was curious about the remedy and asked her pediatrician about it. After he scribbled down the script for yet another round of antibiotics and a brief discussion about surgery as the next step, he looked up chamomile on the net and declared that it is dangerous because it is a blood thinner. What’s up with that? (more…)
In one of my most recent blogs, I told the story of a late-night drive to my son’s when he called on me for help.
When the call came, I quickly gathered my red Top 100 Remedy kit, a couple of my homeopathy books, a Ball canning jar of my bone broth and off I went.
After administering a few different remedies from my kit, I finally fell asleep in the chair by his bed.
The reason I could fall asleep was that, after six hours, a few missteps and finally the correct remedy, my son, was enough improved that he, too, fell asleep and the worst of his illness was over.
It should be noted that I was able to try a few different remedies because I had my kit.
There is nothing like having healing at your arm’s length.
It was my kit, my son, and me. (A few prayers too.)
By now you probably know that I oppose the overuse of antibiotics practiced by conventional medicine. Through its focus on managing the symptoms of illness rather than uprooting the cause, modern medicine has created a state of depleted health for many.
Antibiotics suppress symptoms such as fever and ear infections but at a cost. Generally, they drive the pathology deeper into the body until it re-emerges later as a more serious problem. This is why one illness follows another shortly after the use of drugs to “control” the symptoms of the first.
And gastrointestinal problems such as food intolerance emerge shortly after rounds (sometimes only one) of antibiotics. (more…)
Good Gut, Bad Gut: FAQ
“Read the Science. Raise Your Hand. Ask Your Questions. Learn the Facts”
Many of you have asked very good questions, so I know you are learning the facts.
1) I can’t see my insides … how do I know if my gut is good or bad?
he relationship between digestion and overall health is much more far-reaching than simply experiencing frank gastrointestinal symptoms. Various mental and physical ailments, such as ADD and autoimmune diseases, have been observed to have their origins in poor digestive health. The way you might know if an illness is related to the gut is if there are chronic problems that began after a gastrointestinal event, even years previous. Also, if foods seem to be bothersome, even if the symptoms present in remote areas such as on the skin, the respiratory tract or neurologically, it can potentially mean the gut is disturbed and is worth investigation. I recently posted about how to relieve travel sickness quickly.
Today I am going to address vertigo and tinnitus, which sometimes share similar aspects of motion sickness.
However, these maladies can be even more debilitating when associated with a chronic condition.
While travel sickness is due to movement, vertigo and tinnitus can often accompany nausea, making it a double whammy.
Some describe the feeling as existing in a factory of constant noise, being intoxicated or having a bad case of “the spins.”
Infections, fevers, seemingly unrelated illness, movement, inner ear issues, exposure to loud noises, eye problems or even a major stress can lead to a bout of vertigo and long-term tinnitus. (more…)
Nothing says summer like having some water fun in the pool, beach or backyard sprinkler, but “swimmer’s ear” can ruin it all.
This painful condition, often called otitis externa, is caused when water becomes trapped in the ear, giving certain bacilli or fungi that thrive in moist conditions a place to proliferate.
Instead of heading to the doctor for a round of antibiotics, many moms reach for their homeopathy kit. Homeopathy works naturally, quickly and effectively to reduce pain and inflammation so kids can get back in the water without medications!
Over the years I have been taught by my Homeopathic Master Teachers these and more little tips that I call Homeo-tips.
I share these and more with my ezine subscribers. http://homeopathyworks.net/newsletters.cfm As well Nutri-tips – fun and helpful Nutritional tips for kids meal ideas – How to get healthy meals into your family.
