Repetition is Good ’til It Causes Painful Hands

I have been in India at the Prasanta Banerji Homeopathic Research Foundation (PBHRF) for three of my expected 7-week yearly fellowships and when I have a quiet moment to reflect on my experiences here, it makes my heart swell and my gray matter escalate.

The amount of diseases and suffering that walk into the offices here at the clinic leave me in wonderment, from one moment to the next. If I didn’t have the right constitution, I could end up crying at the end of each day.

So far, I have observed and recorded several little children with glioblastoma (a type of brain cancer), hydrocephalus (after the shunts failed), horrible infections that take your breath away. I’ve seen some who are suffering from neurofibromatosis (the condition commonly associated with the movie, The Elephant Man), mouth cancers, Tuberculosis, HIV, leprosy and more.

I also record more common illnesses like allergies, fungal diseases of the skin, alopecia, stomach pains, gas, bloating, and hemorrhoids (or, as referred to in India and the UK, piles), and menstrual conditions.

Many of the patients have already had plenty of chemo, radiation, steroids and surgery and by the time they arrive at the clinic, their allopathic doctors have often given up.

And so they come into the clinic in little family clusters.

They arrive on crutches.

In wheelchairs.

On stretchers.

In ambulances.

Carried on their loved ones’ backs.

There are some who are driven in by their private drivers.

No matter their station in life, they come.

One thousand, two hundred of them to be exact every day, six days each week.

Each case is carefully recorded and categorized, including blood labs, MRIs, X-rays, etc., which is added to their data. The Banerjis have been doing this for over a combined 150 years of using only homeopathy.

Dr. Prasanta and Pratip Banerji

Drs. Prasanta and Pratip Banerji were recently honored by the Indian Government (again). This time with a commemorative postage stamp. It has yet to be released, but I was able to snap a photograph of their official book presented to them by President Pranab Mukherjee, the President of India. (Lucky for me, Dr. Pratip has promised that I’ll get one!)

Yesterday, I observed and recorded 83 cases in the office where I often sit.

The other side of the office is one of the waiting rooms

Then there were the other five days of the week before that and last week, too.

Needless to say: Lots o’ writing for me.

I take notes the old-fashioned way: pen-and-notebook style.

My hands don’t hurt from writing, but if you happen to have a problem with prolonged writing or pecking away at a keyboard all day, then you might be interested in this:

The Banerji Protocol I have for you that has served my clients and students for years is:

Symphytum 200 taken twice daily for cramping, overused hands. If the pain and stiffness are worse in the cold, then add Rhus tox 30 to Symphytum 200.

You may also want to consider alternating with Arnica montana 200, and for years, I have further found Ruta to be an excellent remedy for carpal tunnel and stiff, overused hands.

And there you have it. YOU have the ability to restore your and your loved ones' health through the power of homeopathy. Whether you're recording homeopathy methods from afar or peeling potatoes for mighty brood, remember these medicines, potencies, and frequencies, and you'll have one more cure in your bag of tricks.

Warmly,

Joette laughingI am a homeopath with a worldwide practice working with families and individuals via Zoom. I'm also a teacher and most importantly, a mom who raised my now-adult children depending on homeopathy over the last 31 years. I lived decades of my life with food intolerances, allergies, and chemical sensitivities until I was cured with homeopathy, so I understand pain, anxiety, and suffering. You may feel that your issues are more severe or different than anyone else’s, but I have seen it all in my practice and in my work in India. My opinion is that nothing has come close to the reproducible, safe and effective results that my clients, students and I have achieved with homeopathy.

Call today and learn how homeopathy might just be the missing piece in your health strategy.

Homeopathy doesn't "treat" an illness; it addresses the entire person as a matter of wholeness that is an educational process, not a medical one. Joette believes that the advice and diagnosis of a physician is often in order.

Very inspiring! I am chipping away at the study group curriculum with a few wonderful friends and sister. With your help and the Banerji Protocols we have been able to help others already and we just finished week three! I’ve been a nurse for over 30 years, studied and used many natural modalities but cannot keep my jaw up learning this effective homeopathy. This is where I belong. The common sense the Banerji’s use with their protocols rocks the disease world. I would love to visit and work in their clinic!!! How rewarding!! What you learn there has to benefit you as much as the people you help!! Thank you Joette. You are changing my life and many others.

Thanks for your kind words. I know the feeling about finding home. Mothers, grandmothers, nurses, pet owners, farm hands, …in short, everyone should know about this medicine. Its been suppressed for too long. Pass on the good word.

  2. Margaret Day says:

So glad you are there to spread the word of Homeopathy. May God bless you for the goodness you are spreading.

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

thanks Margaret! nice to hear from you.

  3. Alice Smith says:

    Hi Joette,

Tom Brady is the new hero in the US but I want to add you name to one of my heroes. While watching the game, Kane was avoiding urination. Diane gave him a remedy and by the end of the game he was going without a problem. Thanks again for all you do.

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

It sounds like Diane is the hero-mom.

By the way, every time you’ve spent time talking to or sitting on night watch with one of my family members, I want to be there too. I’m sorry we haven’t connected recently…you touched Peter’s life in such a big way that he still he recalls your jokes and the infectious laughter you shared on those watches. You’re the best aunt, Alice and you’re my hero too.

Hi! Thank you for all the information! I actually looking into a one on one consult or taking one of your courses. My 4 year old has had a phlegmy cough for awhile but is getting better with the use of aconite + spongia 3 x a day. My question is how long can you administer these remedies? I had her on it for about five days and took her off and now I can tell its starting again. Can I give her remedies everyday until it completely goes away? Are there guidelines. She is sensitive to the cold air and seems to be a reoccurance in the winter months. Your feed back would be greatly aprreciated.

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

We generally use the medicines for as long as it takes to uproot the condition. In some cases it takes a few doses while in others, it can take months.

  5. Shari Wood says:

I have just finished a study group and our group has a video conference in March when you get back. Although your trip has made us wait (haha) I’m sure you’ll be brimming with excitement and encouragement. I so look forward to the encounter. I truly believe my God, Jehovah Rapha, is using you to help heal my family. I am humbled and inspired that I am part of it. Thank you, thank you, and thank you!

  6. Lynn says:

I was intrigued by Alice’s comment about Diane giving a remedy when someone is avoiding urination. What remedy was it? I have this problem a lot when traveling and would love to find a remedy to help. Thanks!

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

I don’t know what she was referring to, but by posting it here, she may respond.

  7. Georgia says:

    Hi Joette,
Can remedies create a rash? As mentioned before, i have my 4 year old on Aconite + Spongia 30C 3 times a day. She has been taking them for over a week and has developed an itchy rash on both inner arms and upper legs in the last couple of days. Her cough is worse at night (all night) and coughs all night and now itchy at night. I was wondering if possibly the remedy is pushing anything out of her system and the rash is a sign? When do you know when to stop the remedy and if I need to try something out? Your response would be kindly appreciated.

PS – If anyone has a study group and is willing to have an additional participate please let me know. As I will be taking one of the courses and would like to communicate with like minded people. The support would be great !

    1. Margaret Day says:

I would love to join another study group. Please invite a motivated participant like myself.

    2. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

You stop using a homeopathic when its clear that it is of no use OR if it causes a new symptom. Don’t look at a rash as something that is being pushed out. This might happen only if the original condition had been resolved.

  8. Connie says:

Hi Joette! Sooo excited about your trip to India–looking forward to the insights you’ll get 🙂 I have a question: What potency of Ruta do you recommend for sore, overworked hands with trigger thumb?

    Thanks!
    Connie

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

I’ve had success with 200, twice daily but the old books often recommend 6.I have been adding in Symphytum along with it as well.

  9. kerimae says:

I can’t believe I *just* found you! You should hear me whooping and hollering in the kitchen listening to your podcasts! I want to just cry, so thankful you are doing this to help so many others. I am 20 years into mothering 8 children and none of them have ever needed a drug or a tooth filling. We have used chiropractic, homeopathy, herbs, and wholesome foods, along with a whole lot of “no, thank you’s”. Boy, do we have stories we could tell! I am now crawling through your offerings and am SoExcited about the easier protocols of Dr. Banerji. I have a WHOLE lot more to learn. I just wanted to send my heartfelt thanks!

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

Well, you’re MY kind of woman. 8 kids means you’ve got your priorities straight. So happy that I can be of help to you and your family. God bless all of you.

  10. Nita says:

Love your posts. As a Grandma of a one year old, we are certainly all learning together. The flu is upon us and thank God for Joette and homeopathy.

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

Let us all know how things work out. And thanks for the thanks!

  11. Pam says:

I have had some success with classical homeopathy in the past. This is all new to me and I am looking forward to learning something new. Thank you in advance for letting me join! Pam

  12. Pam says:

When you mention that “if you didn’t have the right constitution you could end up crying at the end of each day” it makes me wonder if that aspect of a person’s personality could be strengthened by homeopathy. I’m just wondering, not actually asking for free advice:) Thanks, Pam

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

      Absolutely!

  13. I tried a combo of these two remedies for my Mom today. I only had 30c doses but it seemed worth a try. She’s had a lot of pain in her arm for several years. Also, she had a horrible fall in Dec. Her knee and neck have been hurting every since. Scan was clear so the doctor passed it off as old age.
I just spoke with her and asked her how she was feeling. She said she’d totally forgotten the pain. This could be life-changing for her. Thank you so much.

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

‘Happy to hear, but not surprised. Homeopathy is indeed life changing. The only people who don’t like it are those who stand to financially lose with its re-emergence and their minions.

  14. kellyheatwole says:

If your job as a dental assistant has aggravated your shoulder from repetitive use, would this protocol be helpful? Also, would you consider using Ruta as well?

  15. ALAMUL ISLAM says:

I am a new student of Homeopathy medicine from Bangladesh. Your advice very helpful to me.Thank you so much.

  16. Kati says:

By “Ruta” do you mean Ruta graveolens? I am new so want to make sure I don’t do the wrong thing. Thank you so much for all the knowledge you share!

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

Yes, Ruta graveolens. I should be more specific.

      1. Shelli says:

I’ve been looking through different post and I can’t find the doses or amounts for the Ruta for carpal tunnel. It’s not on the remedy card either. What amount of the Ruta do you take?

        1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH says:

The number of pills that comprise a dose is printed on the side of the bottle that you purchase. It depends on the manufacturing pharmacy that you purchase from.

  17. Corinne says:

Your recent post on facebook about Buster made me look up symphytum, which I hadn’t heard of using before although it is in my kit. I have a 4-year-old torn meniscus so I was very interested to read Buster’s story. Then I pondered the torn…. something that happened in my hip/sit bone area while hiking last fall and is still very painful. Seems symphytum is useful for that as well. Lately my carpal tunnel has been acting up due to shoveling heavy gravel at work the other day and also my job involves a lot of pushing air brake knobs which have a good amount of resistance. So this morning I looked up carpal tunnel and guess what, symphytum again! I have begun the Banerji protocol for symph 200 twice a day. My question is, can I add (or alternate) other things as needed for pain in different areas each day? Such as hypericum or rhus tox or ruta? I plan to continue the symphytum for at least two months so I can assess if it is helping. If I need other remedies during the time, like for a migraine, can I just take them as needed (away from the symph of course)? Thank you so much for putting all this information out here!

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

Indeed, I teach that we can often integrate more than once medicine at a time into a schedule, as needed for pain, etc.

  18. Siri Gran says:

I love all that you share and I am a big fan of yours as well as a mighty member. As a nurse I am always looking for solutions and for solving a health problem for others, now I myself need help. I have been looking everywhere for answers in your posts, blogs and FB videos for the condition Dupuytrens contracture, which I have inherited from my father, without finding anything. Found suggestions elsewhere that a suitable remedy might be Causticum among others. But is there a Banerji protol for this? To stop the development of the fibroblast cells growing nodules in the palms of the hands? I am still in an early stage. I do not have pain and still not very stiff. But I fear that the cronic inflammamation in my body will make this condition worse and I will end up with deformed hands. I am using the protocol for plantar fascitis ( I also have Mortons neuroma on the same foot) and wondered if adding Causticum for contraction of the instep could cover for the Dupuytrens as well?
I thought it might be possible to ask you for help under this blog about pain in hands.
Thanks again for sharing Joette, you are the most valuable source for health questions on the entire Internet.

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

Hi Siri, What you’re describing is a bit more than a simple protocol for Depuetrens. If you stand back a bit I’m sure you see that there is an overall condition presenting in different areas of the body.
I urge you to 1st check your diet. Many plants can cause these kinds of conditions.
Next, read your materia medicas on the remedies you’re considering and see if it/they are a fit.
Then, without offering specific recommendations here, one of the best ways to determine if a medicine that you’ve decided is pretty much on the mark is to indeed give it a try and observe the results.
Having said all of this, should you be interested, I cover these conditions in my online course “Pain”.

  19. Siri Gran says:

Thank you very much for your time and good advice. Your Materia Medica is ordered! I have lived on a diet without dairy and very little gluten (Fodmap) for the last 8 years. I consider gut and allergy problems also play their part. My whole childhood I had desensitization injections for different allergies for many years without preventing me developing these allergies. I have also chosen to start the protocol you refer to in your article “Healing “Intractable”Digestive Distress”. Despite what you say considering where things started to get bad and the causes, I wonder if the gut course comes first instead of your “Pain” course.

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

If someone knows that that cause of pain emanates from the GI tract, “Good Gut Bad Gut” is the best place to start.
      Good luck!

  20. Sarah says:

Hi Joette I gain so much knowledge from your website, Thank you so much.
How often would you use Ruta for carpal tunnel syndrome, and in what potency?
Thank you again for all of your information I gain so much from it.

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH says:

      ‘Happy to hear.
