Genital Herpes

Genital Herpes.

It strikes fear.

It ruins relationships.

It causes pain and suffering.

Most importantly, it's prevalent; epidemic even.

Enter Homeopathy.

First, allow me to clarify that I am by no means an expert on the daunting subject of Herpes of any strain. But since I’m privy to having worked closely with the Drs. Banerji and have witnessed the use of their Type 2 Herpes protocols, I would be remiss if I didn’t share what I have learned.

So, I’ve decided that despite the forthcoming criticisms I will likely receive regarding my audacity to write on this sensitive subject, I will offer this information anyway.

Some things just need to be said.

Before I begin, however, allow me another caveat. I want to reiterate that Homeopathy is not a word that describes holistic medicine. It is not herbalism, supplement therapy, home remedies nor vitamins.

Within these categories, it is acceptable to give something a try on a whim, in the hopes it will make a difference. This is not so with Homeopathy. Instead, I urge my students and readers to be absolutely certain of what they are treating.

This means that in order to approach a condition such as genital herpes, it is prudent to have an authentic diagnosis. If what someone believed was genital herpes turned out to be jock itch, some other fungal infection or eczema instead, the protocol I’m about to share with you, if used repeatedly, could actually cause the symptoms it was intended to remove. It wouldn't cause herpes but could cause symptoms that might resemble it.

Remember, that’s how homeopathy works: it employs substances that in their gross form cause sufferings, while the homeopathic formula of super dilution and succession cures them.

This means it needs to be used with that in mind, and not as a just-in-case method of treatment.

In an effort to understand how Homeopathy acts in chronic illness, I urge you to go to my Podcast #12 and listen to my explanation, which offers a deeper understanding of the topic. It will help you interpret what and how symptoms are represented.

Having clarified that, here is the Banerji Protocol for Genital Herpes. Promise me you will use it judiciously, and only after receiving a true diagnosis from a qualified practitioner:

1) Camphor 200, one dose for one day only for anyone over the age of 12 months old. (This is used to help clear the case and essentially clear the slate.)

2) Mercurius solubilis (or Mercurius vivus) 200C, twice daily.

3) Arsenicum album 200C, twice daily.

In some cases, amelioration is reported within days while in others, there’s simply a lessening of presenting symptoms. Still, others report that the eruptions continue to occur but are less intense, shorter in duration and the episodes are fewer and far between.

Hence, the speed and depth of this protocol is dependent on such factors as the amount of suppression from drug use in the past, the immunity of the person and drugs the sufferer may presently be taking.

So there you have it. A complex subject distilled into a simpler one. Many thanks to the Drs. Banerji and their cumulative practical experience of 150 years.

Now go take care of your family and community and spread the word.

I am a homeopath with a worldwide practice working with families and individuals via Zoom. I'm also a teacher and most importantly, a mom who raised my now-adult children depending on homeopathy over the last 31 years. I lived decades of my life with food intolerances, allergies, and chemical sensitivities until I was cured with homeopathy, so I understand pain, anxiety, and suffering. You may feel that your issues are more severe or different than anyone else’s, but I have seen it all in my practice and in my work in India. My opinion is that nothing has come close to the reproducible, safe and effective results that my clients, students and I have achieved with homeopathy.

Call today and learn how homeopathy might just be the missing piece in your health strategy.

How close together can the two remedies to be taken?
Thank you for not shying away from sensitive conditions!

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

I like to space them by about 30 minutes or so, however, if many are being taken, 15 min. separation still seems to act.

  2. Teresa says:

I was wondering if there was a treatment or way to cure viral infections recently. Particularly one of this nature. Thank you for the information. How long is this treatment used? Until symptoms go away? 5-7 day? Forever?
Thank you for all you do.

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

It is used until symptoms no longer present. IF they return, it is restarted.

  3. CRH says:

What if there is a positive blood test but no symptoms?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

I would not use a remedy unless the symptoms show a disease.

  4. Lynne says:

How many days do you repeat the doses? Just one day, or do you repeat until the symptoms improve, repeating when you hit a plateau? Or do you take them daily forever?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

The remedies are used until the condition no longer presents.

  5. Stacey Rae says:

What a great conversation, thanks Joette.
I have a question for you about the virus shingles. Do you have anything to suggest or recommend in remedies for this type of the simplex virus of herpes?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

I plan to write about this subject soon.

  6. Dikens says:

The last article you wrote about this subject ,you mentioned there that, two remedies should be taken together until no virus remains in our system, but here it is different. Which one I should follow?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

I have since that time, used both methods and found them both to be efficacious.

  7. Dikens says:

I used to get breakouts every month, if not taking antiviral drugs, but these two remedies I’m taking together for last three and half months, stopped antiviral since then, no more breakouts till now. Thanks to you and Dr. Banerjis. It feels like a life changing incident.

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

‘Delighted to hear! The Banerjis have come up with most of the protocols I report. I just do what I can to spread the word.

      1. Dikens says:

Any such protocol for genital warts ?

        1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

It is a different protocol and i plan to write on that subject in the future.

          1. Dikens says:

Please provide the protocol , will be waiting eagerly. Thanks a lot.

  8. martha says:

I have a follow-up question regarding genital warts. Why wouldn’t Thuja help with this issue/symptom? Am I thinking about this too simplistically? Thank you for writing about this sensitive subject and providing us with the tools.

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

Yes, Thuja is one of the more important remedies for genital warts.

      1. Cynthia Miranda says:

        where do I find these?

        1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

Click on the remedies in the blog that are printed in blue. It will take you to the link.

  9. mary Marshall says:

Does this same protocol work if I get shingle on my left hip?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

      no, its for simplex 2.

    2. Sam says:

Any protocol for genital warts? You promised to post one but I see nothing yet

      1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH says:

        https://joettecalabrese.com/blog/ugly-embarrassing-warts/

This post discusses one category but the remedy choices are often the same regardless of location.

  10. Biloon says:

Does bodybuilding supplements antidote homeopathy medicine?

    1. Biloon says:

Like creatine powder or whey proteins.

      1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

I”m not excited about whey proteins made from soy because they can interfere with the masculine hormones, but they won’t interfere with homeopathy.

    2. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

      No.

  11. Biloon says:

Thanks, I will consider not taking whey made from soy . Thanks a lot.

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

Dr. Joseph Mercola has a whey protein made from milk. Check out his site.

  12. Biloon says:

    Okay. Thanks Joette.

  13. Stephen says:

Joette, in a previous blog on Genital herpes you mentioned staying on for many months after clearing of outbreak. I have been on since Jan 1, 2016 just got an out break. How many months is many months? Should I keep going? Thanks.

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

pls listen to my pod cast #12, Why You May Be Disillusioned With Homeopathy. It will help you understand how to interpret symptoms. I can’t tell you specifically how long is long enough for your particular case, but usually you take a homeopathic until the condition is very much improved or gone.

  14. Laura DuPre says:

Joette, would this same protocol work for cold sores on the face since they also arise , from my understanding, from the herpes virus?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

I use different protocols for cold sores.

      1. Laura says:

Can you tell us what some of those remedies might be?

  15. Kingston says:

Is this protocol safe for someone who is pregnant? Are all homeopaths safe for pregnancy besides blue and black cohosh? Thank you for your work Joette.

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

Blue and black cohosh are not homeopathic; they’re botanicals. Homeopathy is relatively safe and there are homeopathic medicines that are not safe during pregnancy. They are not listed here.

      1. Kingston says:

Thank you so much! Is there a list you can point me to for any homeopaths to stay away from in pregnancy please. Also is Camphora 200c the same as Camphor 200? On amazon only saw Camphora 200C and it was sold by Banjeri pharmacies. In the 200 kit you sell Camphor isn’t included otherwise I would have purchased that. At this time you don’t sell single remidies, correct? Last question I already started with the Arscenium

        1. Kingston says:

and the Merc but didn’t take the Camphor as I didn’t have it. Can I pause the other two for a day when I get the Camphor and take that or is it not necessary? Thank you for any info.

        2. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

          1) The general rule is: during pregnancy don’t use Apis or Sepia in high potency for an extended period of time.
          2) Camphor and Camphora are the same.
          3) We sell a few different kinds of kits in our office.
          4) Not necessary.

  16. Stephanie says:

Is there any ways to prevent outbreaks, especially for a pregnancy. They said they need to do a c-section should an outbreak happen during delivery. The other option is takes their meds which I am unsure how well they work?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

Yes, but it would require taking your case and some time to allow the homeopathics to act.

  17. Dickens says:

Initially the protocol was working well, but after almost 7 to 8 months of daily using the medicines are not working anymore. I have started getting frequent herpes lesion again. Please help.Thanks.

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

That protocol is not the only way to address this condition. However, it would require meeting with a homeopath.

      1. Dickens says:

Could you please give any other remedy to address this condition ?

  18. Dashdip says:

Should I stop taking the medicines once the lesion has gone and agian start when i get another outbreak or I shall continue taking them for a long period of time ?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

If lesions present fairly close together, many find that by staying on the protocol, there is better improvement. WHile for those who have lesions that show up only once in a while, they find that it is best used during or just before the event.

      1. Dashdip says:

If I’m not taking any medicine, I usually get up to two outbreak a month. So I must continue taking it right ? And is there any chance of no virus remaining in future if I continue the medicine?

        1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

When something such as a virus presents as often as twice monthly, it would be considered a chronic condition instead of an acute. In that case, some find it to be useful when taken daily. I can’t say if it will show as no virus in blood tests, etc.

          1. Dashdip says:

Thanks a lot. Just another querie, I work in an environment where I come across lots of phenol , bleaching powder, naphthalene and other similar aromatic stuffs. Do they do any harm to the remedy I’m taking? Thanks .

          2. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

If the smell is strong enough it can antidote the homeopathics. Generally, it must be overwhelming but even if it antidotes, it does not mean it will undo the good accomplished from using the medicines up to that point. Instead, it will antidote the action in that moment in time. If you are using a homeopathic that is taken daily, it will begin acting again at each dose.

  19. diane says:

I purchased Arsenicum album 200c and the bottle says take 3 pills a day. How many should I take?Above it says twice a day.

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

When I write these articles, I’m offering information for specific conditions. The bottle directions are written for general use with no specific condition intended.

      1. Dashdip says:

How many drops would you suggest to take if the medicines are in liquid form ?

        1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

Its usually written on the outside of the bottle, but if its not indicated then about 5 drops.

  20. Lauren Harman says:

You wrote a lot in the blog that you would write in Herpes Simplex 1 buti cannot find anything. Can you tell me how you would treat a severe HSV 1 outbreak (whole body) or point me to where you wrote on it?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

I’ve not written about it yet.

  21. Lee says:

Hi Joette. In one of the comments above you indicated that the treatment protocol for genital herpes is different than that for cold sores. What about genital herpes vs fever blisters on the mouth? It seems there used to be a distinction between HSV-1 (mouth) and HSV-2 (genitals) but now I am seeing articles that don’t make that distinction much anymore. And it further complicates when cold sores and fever blisters are used interchangeably. In my experience, they present differently. I suffer from fever blisters on the mouth and have tried several homeopathic remedies to help with very little success, but have never tried the protocol in your article above. For fever blisters on the mouth is the protocol the same?

  22. Kristy Chandler says:

Is there a blog on cold sores? I read your blog on canker sores and someone asked in the comments if cold sores could be treated the same way. The answer was that it was a horse of a different color as it was herpes. But when I entered herpes in the search engine I find only genital herpes. Both my mom and my husband suffer from cold sores; my mom when stressed and my husband if he’s out in the sun too long. Neither of them have ever been promiscuous, so I am not sure how a cold sore is a the same as herpes, but I am most interested in finding out how to help them both root it out regardless. What would you recommend (and how frequently) for cold sores? And if you have a blog that I have missed that addresses the topic please point me to it. Thanks in advance!

  23. karin says:

I also am patiently waiting for a protocol on lip herpes, HSV-1. thank you.

  24. Shota says:

Hello and thank you for such information
Just one question please, does homeopathy kills the virus totally meaning that you will no longer have this virus in your body ?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

Homeopathy doesn’t kill viruses. Instead, one can carry a virus for a lifetime but not suffer from it. That’s what homeopathy has a reputation for doing.

  25. Myrna says:

I cannot get the Camphor easily but I have both Merc. Sol and Arsenicum. Would they still be effective without the first dose of camphor? Could I substitute Sulphur 200c for the camphor? Thank you.

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

For years, I opened my cases with nothing. I just started right in. Meanwhile, order Camphor 200 so you have it on hand for when it’s super important.

  26. Amanda says:

Where would you find these at? Your local health store?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

Click on the link and it will take you to a source. Its the way I write these blogs most every week.

  27. Dear Dr. Joette,
Since I am sensitive to homeopathic remedies I shy from potencies higher than 30c. Ten days ago, I tried your protocol using Arsenicum 30c + Mercurius 30c 1x/day for 2 days and stopped because I noticed a distinct energetic shift. (I could not find Camphor, so did not use, though I ordered the remedy). Since taking the Arsenicum + Mercurius combo, i have been waking frequently in the night, often with heart palpitations and panic, sometimes sweat on the chest. I am waking at 12am, 2am, 4am and 5am – often unable to get to sleep for 2-5 hours. I have felt “wired” and while able to complete tasks during the day, feel like crying from exhaustion and sometimes so frustrated that I’m unable to sleep. I’m also experiencing constipation with impacted, crumbly stool and hemorrhoids from ineffectual straining. i took Aconite 30c to calm the panic/nerves a few times when the palpitations and anxiety are at their worse. I have tried Nux Vom 30c to try to antidote and Nat Mur 6c for the constipation with little effect. (I have had excellent results with Nat Mur as a remedy in the past). Symptoms started to ameliorate a few nights ago – I went from 1 hour of sleep/night to 5 or 6 of broken hours, but then yesterday I was at a sauna and now am wide awake again from midnight with panic and sweat. What else can i do? Thank you

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

To antidote, sniff mint directly from a bottle of essential oil of mint several times throughout the day.

  28. Eve says:

Is this safe to take during pregnancy!? Second trimester. I had my first ever outbreak 8 weeks ago, and now another daughter be. It’s devastating to say the least.

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

I can not advise you on this forum.

    2. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

Eve, I didn’t mean to answer flippantly, so allow me to rephrase my answer. It is not known to cause a problem during pregnancy per se, but I’m not comfortable offering advice, specifically for you, without knowing your case.

  29. Bobby says:

Hi Dicken, I am curious to know if your condition got better with the use of Banerjee protocol? I am planning to use the protocol. Do you still get herpes lesion?

  30. Hélène says:

Could this protocol be followed for prodromal symptoms? I am very aware of my body getting an outbreak. Or should i wait for a blister or at least, the intense itching that then pops out the sore when the spot is scratched?
I can literally prevent a sore if i can possibly not scratch in that area! It is almost impossible to not scratch but if i dont scratch right at the itch, usually no sore ever presents…amazingly.
I also get neuropathy, etc, prodromally.
    Thanx

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

When the 1st telltale signs come on for any acute condition, its often a fine time to commence using the homeopathic for what would be forthcoming.

  31. Rosalind says:

This is amazing. I am buying the three now. Do I need to use camphor only for first day? I’m in pain and would like to get on to clearing the symptoms!

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

I open most cases with Camphor 20, 1 Day only.

      1. Jodi says:

Is the Camphor 200 in pill form? I tried to find the link to purchase, but I don’t see it.

        1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

You can find it on Amazon and in pill form.

  32. Rosalind says:

Also, what size pills do you advise? Or does it not matter?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

      The size doesn’t matter.

  33. Sis says:

Is there a second line protocol for this??

  34. Cathy says:

Does it matter if the two pills are morning and night or should they be taken at the same time? Should they be under the tongue. Thank you

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

Just like any medicine, you take a dose and repeat it according to directions. A dose is indicated on the side of the bottle.

The pills needn’t be kept under the tongue, only taken in a clean mouth and allowed to be absorbed there.

  35. Sanjay says:

I am suffering from hsv2 .I was tested . The report said it is 4.65 IgG . I am eating medicine. But I want homeopathic medicine.and want to know whether it can be treated 100% ? ?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

I can not tell someone that homeopathic medicine will cure. I can only offer information that I’ve gleaned that has been shown to do so for some people.

  36. Shelli says:

Would this also be the protocol for HSV 1 on the genitals?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

      HSV1 is indeed genital herpes.

  37. Cheryl says:

Have you heard of ozone therapy? Do you know anyone in New Jersey that deals with this therapy for herpes?

  38. Melissa says:

Hello. Is the Camphor 200 used only one time initially & never repeated, or one time at the onset of each outbreak? Thank you for your help.

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH says:

Pls read my blog article titled “Stop It”. It gives the rationale for the use of Camphor.

      1. Melissa says:

Can these remedies be taken in addition to an allopathic antiviral drug (Valacyclovir), or is that contraindicated?

  39. Melissa says:

    Thank you very much!

  40. Melissa says:

Thank you! Can these remedies be taken in addition to an allopathic antiviral drug (Valacyclovir), or is that contraindicated?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH says:

Most of the Western population take drugs daily. And often for years. If I had to eliminate those who are daily takers of pharmaceuticals from my teachings, we’d be left with, if lucky, only newborn infants to help with homeopathy.

Having said this, the only contraindication in using these 2 paradigms simultaneously is that you’ll never know which one acted or to what degree. This often leaves the case muddled and confusing.

      1. Melissa says:

Thank you very much. My relative is determined to go the allopathic route for now, being newly diagnosed. I was hoping she could add the remedies to further decrease her suffering.
