Boys, Concussions and Broken Furniture

The two young boys had simply been watching too much wrestling on TV. The brothers loved to spend hours brawling down in their basement, reenacting the moves of their favorite professional wrestlers. But one evening, when 10-year-old Jason recreated Hulk Hogan’s signature move by slamming his little brother down onto his back against the floor, his brother went limp.

Out cold.

Terrified, Jason scooped his little brother up in his arms, holding back tears as he rushed him upstairs to his mother. He was sure he had killed him!

Of course, it was simply a concussion, and his brother came to within seconds after being presented to his mom.

Stunned and dazed, the tell-tale sign came later on in the evening when little brother complained of a throbbing headache.

This is what the boys’ mom did for her little warrior:

She began with Aconitum napellus 200 to deal with the shock of the incident.

Shortly after (about 15 minutes later), she offered Arnica montana 200C. This is a notable medicine for injuries to the head, as well as other areas of the body. (Receive a 20% discount at purchase by typing in the discount coupon “joette” in the shopping cart.)

Now, with these two remedies underway, she began to observe his symptoms. Unfortunately, there was not as much improvement after the Aconite and Arnica as she had hoped, so she repeated Arnica once again after about 15 minutes.

Again, there was little to no improvement. So she started asking herself important questions about which remedies would be best given his symptoms.

She settled upon giving her little man Ledum palustre 30, as this can actually be a great medicine for a blow to the head, but it also appeared that he was developing a black eye, and Ledum is particularly great for this type of injury in particular. After a dose of this, there seemed to be a slight improvement. It’s not that we are looking to treat a black eye, but rather to use that symptom to determine what will help the entire injury.

At bedtime, her son began to complain of a headache. “My head feels like Boom. Boom. Boom. Boom,” which is indicative of a throbbing headache. That was a call for Belladonna 6, so into his mouth, she administered it.

Later in the evening, she dosed him again with the Arnica, Ledum, and Belladonna, separating each remedy from the other by about 15 minutes.

By then the throbbing headache was significantly reduced, and his eye was no longer black at all. Yes, that’s how quickly homeopathy can act in an acute setting!

Although it had been several hours since the incident, his parents wanted to keep a close watch over him, so they decided to have him sleep on a rollout mat next to their bed.

By morning, the little trooper woke up with a less intense headache. Mom continued administering the remedies she had previously selected throughout the prior day, each time with noticeable improvements. By observing this, she knew she was on the right track. By the end of the day, the throbbing headache was still somewhat present, so she gave an extra dose of the Belladonna to finish the job.

On the morning of the third day, all symptoms were pretty much gone, so she gave another dose of each remedy and sure enough, they went about their busy day without any further symptoms.

Great job, Mom!

I’m often asked why I use a different protocol for the same condition. My answer is that there’s more than one way to skin a cat.

As such, here’s the Banerji method for concussions:

Cuprum metallicum 6, administered more frequently shortly after the injury, and less frequently as improvement ensues. This medicine is essential for when the person feels dazed, dizzy is convulsing and even if there’s vision loss from a head injury.

I’d also like to note that I have seen this protocol to be of great benefit when someone is having or coming out of a seizure, such as a case with Gaylyn, whose son suffered from a fever seizure: http://joettecalabrese.com/podcast1/podcast-20-moms-with-moxie-a-new-miniseries/

Homeopathy is calling you … moms with moxie and rambunctious boys (and girls!) It’s medicine for your kind of life.

Now, if only homeopathy could fix the broken furniture!

Warmly,

I am a homeopath with a worldwide practice working with families and individuals via Zoom. I'm also a teacher and most importantly, a mom who raised my now-adult children depending on homeopathy over the last 31 years. I lived decades of my life with food intolerances, allergies, and chemical sensitivities until I was cured with homeopathy, so I understand pain, anxiety, and suffering. You may feel that your issues are more severe or different than anyone else’s, but I have seen it all in my practice and in my work in India. My opinion is that nothing has come close to the reproducible, safe and effective results that my clients, students and I have achieved with homeopathy.

Call today and learn how homeopathy might just be the missing piece in your health strategy.
