I have a thought to share as we cook down the last of the turkey bones in a big stock pot and say goodbye to the Thanksgiving weekend here in the United States.
I am thankful for Practical Homeopathy®.
Some time ago, I spoke with a naturopath who teaches pathophysiology with a homeopathic bent. She asserted that homeopathy should only be practiced by individuals with a medical degree, not by moms who think they can treat disease at home. That’s an oft-heard general consensus among naturopaths.
I’ll concede that there are cases that are too complex to be fully managed at home by a novice. Some cases require going beyond these protocols, requiring more expertise, a deeper knowledge of pathology and perhaps even a medical background.
On the other hand, I am continually shocked at how often I hear success stories from mothers and others. “My teen’s longstanding acne has cleared.” “My eczema is better.” “My irritable bowel syndrome has resolved.” “My suicidal thoughts have melted away.”
So, we have to weigh this tempest in a teapot on a scale reflective of the Benjamin Franklin decision method … with pros and cons.
For every case that a novice to homeopathy could potentially mishandle, can they do harm, or is there a chance they could do some real, lasting good?
Indeed, homeopathy does not induce dangerous side effects (as do pharmaceutical drugs). It also costs significantly less than the pricey, patented drugs of commerce. For those two reasons alone, I believe the scale tips toward the ever-present potential benefits of homeopathy.
I am thankful for Practical Homeopathy®.
Before I learned protocols (French Protocols, Banerji Protocols and others), I was deeply entrenched — nay, I should say stuck — in the prevailing belief that homeopathy required decades deep of practiced expertise in order to affect change.
But I believe we’re now at a crossroads as families demand the choice to treat their own sufferings. However, as far as medical professionals go, I don’t suggest we throw the baby out with the bathwater. With this method of homeopathy, we could drain away a great deal of unnecessary bath water and enact true change in the world of health care.
Practical Homeopathy® and the protocols provide mothers, grandmothers and others with optimal opportunities to independently address their families’ health needs. The Banerjis themselves estimated their protocols produced an 80% success rate. So, as long as users understand that nothing in life is 100%, employing homeopathy is well worth it, in my estimation.
I am thankful for Practical Homeopathy®.
In my practice, this method has successfully shaved off so much of the customary time required for conditions to soften and resolve. Before Practical Homeopathy®, afflictions didn’t improve as quickly as they do now. Practical protocols allow sufferers to return faster to living a more normal life.
Practical Homeopathy® also allows me to teach homeopathy because it’s straightforward and accessible. Classical is often too esoteric, enigmatic and dogmatic — all the “-ics.” No mother would choose to study classical homeopathy for three years but still come away unsure of what to do for her family.
The proof is in the numbers. Individuals teaching in classical schools have told me they are struggling to get students to sign up, maybe only garnering ten or so enrollees a year. Conversely, I have hundreds of students clamoring to join The Academy of Practical Homeopathy® each year.
My friends, I completely understand why some experts say certain conditions may require a professional homeopath or medically trained health professional with a homeopathic leaning. But at the very least, my blog readers can get rid of the joint pain in a sufferer’s knees, relieve sinus headaches, uproot otitis media and UTIs, or soften the ravages of grief (to name but a few conditions).
Meanwhile, those who progress in their education — from my free blogs, through Gateway study groups, on to protocol courses and into the immersive experience of The Academy of Practical Homeopathy® — can do much, much more.
So, in case you missed it the first three times, I am thankful for Practical Homeopathy®.
Aren’t you?

I am a homeopath with a worldwide practice working with families and individuals via Zoom. I'm also a teacher and most importantly, a mom who raised my now-adult children depending on homeopathy over the last 31 years. I lived decades of my life with food intolerances, allergies, and chemical sensitivities until I was cured with homeopathy, so I understand pain, anxiety, and suffering. You may feel that your issues are more severe or different than anyone else’s, but I have seen it all in my practice and in my work in India. My opinion is that nothing has come close to the reproducible, safe and effective results that my clients, students and I have achieved with homeopathy.

Joette is not a physician and the relationship between Joette and her clients is not of prescriber and patient, but as educator and client. It is fully the client's choice whether or not to take advantage of the information Joette presents. Homeopathy doesn't "treat" an illness; it addresses the entire person as a matter of wholeness that is an educational process, not a medical one. Joette believes that the advice and diagnosis of a physician is often in order.
