Painkillers — ibuprofen, acetaminophen, naproxen sodium, or opioids — are, at best, like Band-Aids. They cover up the symptoms just long enough to allow us to ignore them.
One might be able to function temporarily. However, because they do nothing to address the underlying condition causing the pain, one generally must take them again and again and again during the inevitable recurrences of the pain. (more…)
You can hear a sufferer’s cough. You can see a sufferer’s eczema. But pain is invisible.
How many people do you know who are suffering from pain? It may be more than you think. Luckily, there is homeopathy. (more…)
Nearly thirty-five years ago, I worked at NBC as an account executive. It was interesting work because I witnessed firsthand how large corporations in America function. One of my prized accounts was Pepsi Cola.
I never directly met the people from Pepsi Cola but had a working relationship with their advertising team in Chicago. This account was what we in TV media called a “bread and butter” account. That meant I counted on their regular spending on our TV station to make my monthly budget.
One Tuesday morning, I entered my office to the phone ringing. It was the rep from the Pepsi Cola team who unsympathetically and sternly stated, “Get it off the air.”
“Get what off the air?” I asked. (more…)
Originally, I planned this to be a two-part series, but I discovered that it required more. My goal is to give you as much on this subject as possible; hence this is Part 2 of a three-part series.
Last week in Part 1, I wrote about the kind of results one should look for when using homeopathy to address acute situations, such as fever, otitis media, sore throat, bee stings, etc.
Acute problems are relatively straightforward compared with what to expect when dealing with chronic conditions.
Nonetheless, when using homeopathy for chronics, there are also signs along the road that we can look for to reassure us that we are on the correct path or to redirect us if we are on the wrong path. (more…)
I get asked a lot of questions that demonstrate beginners’ confusion about what kinds of results to expect when they start relying on homeopathic methods.
People want to know how long they ought to continue with a particular remedy, how many times to administer it, how to tell if they have chosen the correct remedy or protocol and what kinds of obstacles might be preventing results.
Sometimes people make the mistake of not sticking with a protocol long enough, other times the mistake is sticking with a protocol too long.
I’d like to lay out some guidelines to help you have a clearer idea of what to expect. (more…)
Belladonna. It means “Beautiful Woman” in that most poetic of languages, Italian. Our history tells us that the herb was made into eye drops to cause the pupils to dilate, thus making the eyes look more seductive. A ruse perhaps once employed by the Venetian courtesans? In any case, that falls under the category of “Don’t try this at home!”
Belladonna in gross form is very poisonous and ingestion of even a small amount can cause death. Not for no reason did my mother call it “deadly nightshade!” When I was a child, she made the plant known to me, and I steered clear — by no means tempted to sample the wares of the Grim Reaper. (more…)
“Sweet!” crowed Travis, the 16-year-old, as he rose up with renewed strength.
Just hours ago, Travis had been suffering from a 103-degree fever, pounding headache and relentless nausea. After three doses of Belladonna 30C and a much-needed nap, this pale, emotional child was made whole.
Since it was Saturday night, this meant he would be able to go to his school dance.
His parents had no reservations. (more…)
