back pain2

Last installment I wrote about the often-troubling side-effects of synthetic hormones on the female body by sharing Robin's story with you.

Now, I write about how they don’t just influence emotions and thinking; they can also cause long suffering physical ailments as well.

Take the case of Juanita, a young woman who suffered from severe lower back pain. She had seen numerous doctors and had months' worth of tests, but nothing disclosed the cause or relieved her pain.

She made it a general policy to avoid pain relievers because historically, they made her condition worse, but her doctor was so convincing that she eventually succumbed to the advice.

Accustomed to high intensity workouts to keep her weight in check, she was no longer able to remain active because of her back pain.

As a result, she gained a considerable amount of weight, the amount of which was not commensurate with a simple lack of exercise. Upon having gained nearly 70 pounds, she desperately sought the aid of homeopathy because clearly, something else was at play.

Be Suspicious

When I teach homeopathy and work one on one with my clients, I urge them to sharpen a pencil with a good eraser and grab a long sheet of paper in order to construct a timeline of their past ailments. Without this crucial step, many drugs and their side effects go unnoticed, particularly those that are easily dismissed as “natural.”

When questioned in depth, it was revealed that for Juanita, the pain in her lower back began shortly after beginning the Depo-Provera shot. “It’s great!” her OBGYN had declared. “I take an injection of it yearly myself. And best of all, no nasty, old period! What could be better?”

What could be better would be genuine health and a birth control method that holds a woman’s body to a standard of integrity, not chemical manipulation.

Medicine should not offer results that are, for lack of a better word, creepy. The day Juanita visited her doctor when the drug was prescribed, she had reported that she had been experiencing long, painful periods. This gave her doctor the perfect justification for choosing the drug.

And as promised, once the injections began, her monthly cramps were successfully eliminated, and she no longer menstruated. Instead, her menses was replaced with unrelenting pain in her back.

This is the part of medicine that is the most sinister. It “works” with the promise of removing this or that, but it never reveals what you’re really buying into, which is where the most important information is found.

What Juanita Did Next

Once Juanita connected the dots, it was clear what she needed to do. That is, stop submitting to synthetic hormone injections.

While doing so might eliminate any forthcoming back pain, it would not halt the pain she was presently experiencing. Remember, one Depo-Provera shot is intended to suppress menses for one full year. Often, once a drug is used, the side effects don’t minimize for months, or even years, after ceasing its use.

This means Juanita could wait for the side effects to dissipate and likely be plagued

with her old sufferings, hoping against hope she had stopped taking the shot soon enough to make a full recovery.

I have noted time and again that when a drug is halted, the symptoms they were intended to relieve frequently increase greatly. There is a boomerang effect in which the body must compensate for the efforts it put forth that allowed for the suppression of the initial symptoms.

This is where homeopathy comes in.

It does not do this. Since it is a curative medicine, it is only needed until the body has completed its work.

We initiate the homeopathic method with Camphor 200C, one dose for one day

only. It is a Banerji Protocol that aids in anti-doting allopathic drugs. For cases like Juanita's, the medicine that follows best is Sepia 200, to be taken once weekly for as many weeks as it takes to make the adjustment. In her particular case, it took just over one month until one morning, her menstruation resumed. This provided her a sense of relief she hadn’t felt in well over a year.

Concomitantly, as though on cue, the back pain was conspicuously and happily absent. After a year and a half of mysterious back pain, this was extraordinarily satisfying.

However, it took another two months before her periods normalized. During those two months, she experienced flooding and severe menstrual cramps in the same way she had prior to starting the synthetic drugs.

But we’re not done. Now we use the homeopathics that should have been employed for this condition in the first place.  For heavy and painful menses, the Banerji Protocol of Arnica montana 3, along with Sabina 6 twice daily, is a good place to start.

Not surprisingly, within the 2nd day of her menses, Juanita’s pain was manageable. The month that followed showed even better improvement until finally, her periods normalized after 3 months.

Quite a journey.

We only hope she’ll not fall for another medical scheme in the future.

The moral of the story is, when there is a condition that comes from a hormonal upheaval, it ought to be met by a medicine that corrects the problem, not suppresses it.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: do it the right way and get yourself, your daughters and granddaughters off disingenuous pharmaceutical synthetics and address the underlying condition with homeopathy.

We’re worth it.

Warmly,

Joette Calabrese

I have been where you are now. I’ve dieted, taken supplements, bioidentical hormones, essential oils, herbs – but nothing, nothing has ever come close to the reproducible, safe, and effective results I and my clients have achieved with homeopathy. To see the full syllabus for my Feminopathy course and read the testimonials of other women who have been helped by my Practical Homeopathy methods, click here.

I am a homeopath with a worldwide practice working with families and individuals via Zoom. I'm also a teacher and most importantly, a mom who raised my now-adult children depending on homeopathy over the last 31 years. I lived decades of my life with food intolerances, allergies, and chemical sensitivities until I was cured with homeopathy, so I understand pain, anxiety, and suffering. You may feel that your issues are more severe or different than anyone else’s, but I have seen it all in my practice and in my work in India. My opinion is that nothing has come close to the reproducible, safe and effective results that my clients, students and I have achieved with homeopathy.

Call today and learn how homeopathy might just be the missing piece in your health strategy.

    what about thyroid?

      Please clarify your question.

  2. Donna says:

Is the Arnica/Sabina supposed to be taken all month long by someone with heavy, painful periods, or just during her period?

    Thanks, Joette!

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

It’s the protocol used during the time of the pain and flooding while there is usually another taken throughout the month to correct the underlying problem. That one is based on the age and other distinguishing factors.

      1. ann says:

What would that other protocol be, based on a 38 yr old, pre-menopausal woman?

        1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

There are a few of them depending on the symptoms. Should you be interested, you will find entire protocol methods in my online course Feminopathy.

Could one use camphor 200c to Antidote any allopathic drug, vaccines or lidocaine injections after dental work?

  4. Carolyn says:

Great post! So is Arnica3Sab6 the remedy for Robin from Part I as well? What part of Robin’s case would it be addressing? The low libido/sensitive to smell/irritability or coming off of contraceptive pills and reversing the side effects? Thank you!!

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

Robin does not need Arnica since its for painful menses. Sepia 200, every 3 days would have been Robin’s best bet.

  5. Christine says:

Can you clarify, please. Are the Arnica 3 and sabina 6 to be mixed or taken separately?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

      mixed.

  6. Philyssa Grammar says:

Is there a remedy for women who are thrown into menopause or ovarian failure after they have their fallopian tubes lighted or in my case, he did a bilateral distal salpingectomy. My tubes were healthy and no stds so, not sure why he decided to take them almost completely away, including the fimbre. But anyhow my life hasn’t been the same since 2 weeks before my 1st, post-natal period, which started on 10/3/14. I had delivered my 3rd child, via c-section and he did the tubal immediately after, before they closed me up from the c-section. Anyhow, everything was great, healing well, feeling good. Then on 9/23/14 started having insomnia and horrible bouts of sadness that led to crying jags. Then anxiety set it… I’m talking rolling panic attack, the nightsweats, that were getting better after I healed from having her came back with a vengeance. I was still able to maintain, I immediately called my obgyn who delivered my last two children, and preformed the tubal, told him I thought maybe I had post.partum because I had never experienced anything like that… he didn’t see me, he referred me to a family practitioner in their practice. She tried to put me on an maoi and anxiety medication. I passed and found a different MD, he put me on anxiety medication and wellbutrin. Took the wellbutrin for 2 months, and quit taking it because I started having weird dizzy, feeling like I was.going to blackout, and a.couple times hands/forearms started trembling. They last about, I guess 20 seconds. Well my periods sometimes I have 2 a.month now, but my last was 1/20/16, I had 2.in January and none since. But I’m having none stop debilitating pms type moodswings, depression, fatigue, hot flashes, cold flashes, weird hive/ rash that comes and goes now, uncontrollablr itching on arms, legs, chest, back, and scalp, (I don’t have any skin conditions or sicknesses that would cause this),weaknesses, hands cramped the other day, I never have had a Charlie horse in my hands before then. So the next move was to put me on birth control pills, (the whole reason I had the tubal was to have a proven method of birth control without my hormones being messed with. Well, I finished the 5 months of bc pills (lo loestrinFE, which cost me $120 a month) finished the pack 3/1/16. So, now that’s done, I went to a new dr, a gyno he at first prescribed me Premarin combo pill with synthetic progestin (that would’ve cost me $211 if I’d filled it) but instead I called them back and asked for.amother option that didn’t include premarin. So they offered me a higher dose bc pill and I said no. So the final option given me was 2mg estradiol pills and Provera 5MG (the synthetic progesterone that is the main ingredient of the depo provera shot…. um no thanks. So, I called one more.time and asked.if.they’d.substitute the provera for prometrium (micronized bioidentical progesterone, 200mg caplets) and he did and I’veI’ve been taking them since 3/7/16. I need some relief from the very real, very horrible symptoms I have my ovaries and uterus and everything was fine until the fateful day I trusted what my obgyn told me about tubal ligation not affecting my hormones and people who believe that are stupid… seriously he told me that. And me thinking my Dr would know I trusted him. Now I’m 36 and feel like a 60 year old woman who feels very fragile, (physically and emotionally) and sick… I never dreamed I would be going through this. The original Dr won’t even see me. I called him 2 weeks ago and told him this is getting bad with these weird symptoms and could he do a sonogram on me. I made.the appointment and he had his nurse call me back and tell me I was going to need surgery…. REALLY?!?!?! How would he know, the last time he saw me was at the 6.week post partum check-up and I was great then, it didn’t start until 9/23/14.anyway it’s a.daily battle now and my health is declining and I’ve always been healthy and had healthy pregnancies and.births. the c-sections, (2) I had were done because I have a.defect in my left hip.area.that is fused by bone, so I can’t push out a big baby… my babies are big, my last one being 9lbs 11 oz, my 1st was 9 lbs 5 oz, after a hard.labor I delivered her vaginally, but I was 21.then. my middle son who was born in 2010, was 8 lbs 14 oz, he was the smallest and I tried to have him vaginally but couldn’t his head was turned and he was stuck in my birth canal, so that’s when they did the 1st emergency c-section. After that delivery experience, with my 3rd and final baby, born 8/7/14 we did a planned c-section then he sold me on the tubal. Worst mistake of my life. So here I am. Would bioron ammonium help me? Will anything help me… oh and this new.gyno took blood work for.my hormones,.vit d levels, etc. And a sonogram on 3/21/16, he’ll go.over the blood work results then. The M.whose been treating me for this won’t check my hormones. He checks my thyroid and liver and all tbat, and they’re normal but won’t check my hormones and I’ve asked him at leather 5 different times. I asked him (Dr that’s been treating me since 9/30/14 if this could be perimenopause and he always tells me no. One day, since this wasn’t getting better, I asked him if the tubal I had done on 8/7/14 could be messing with my hormones and he said that tubals don’t do that. So, I just keep paying dr’s to sit there and tell me NOTHING and to put me on synthetic bc pills, which have just made these weird.symptoms manifest more…I wish I’d never done it, I wish we wouldve.just had my husband get a vasectomy, (he was willing) but I figured since my trusted obgyn, (who delivered my last 2.children) who advised me then that this was such a successful and virtually side.effect free procedure and they were in there anyway doing the c-section, we’d just kill two birds with one stone. Yes, we sure did kill something that day…. that’s the day (23 months ago) who I used to be and feel died.

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

      yes.

  7. Phil says:

Oh, I forgot to mention I had my child on 8/7/14 and was breastfeeding exclusively… then weird symptoms started 9/24/14… then period 10/3/14, (2 in fact that month). I had to stop breastfeeding so I could get “treated” for this mystery illness that no one will give me real answers for. I just want this fixed.

  8. Phil says:

So, the remedy mentioned above would help me? Is there a remedy to help flush out the liver, kidneys, and to help the adrenal glands? Sorry for all the typos in my comment above, I was outsmarted by autocorrect again on my phone.

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

I can’t assure you that the information I write will help you.

A remedy to flush out the organs? I teach how to use homeopathy for specific conditions, not for organ flushes.

  9. Melissa says:

I have been taking pulsatilla 30 for a few months for dysmenorrhea/ endometriosis but the banerji clinc took my case and recommended sepia 200 2x week. How would I transition to sepia? Some books say sepia and pulsatilla are inimical?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

Its best to work with the person who took your case to give you this kind of information.

  10. Pigheaded mom says:

Hi Joette, I’m in a bit of a predicament. I’ve been taking Sepia 200 every other day for being an overwhelmed woman and it’s helping but I just started my period and I remember you saying something about not taking sepia during menses. Does that apply for this protocol? I am unable to log into my feminopathy course because of technical issues with my login at this time. I’m supposed to take it today. Should I take it?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

THe protocol is to stop taking it during menses.

  11. I struggle because in addition to a long depression, I’m also going thru the change. I’m not irritable but I feel exhausted. How does something like this get teased out to determine the best remedy? Even using a timeline it is anyone’s guess. I’ve read the posts relating to women on this site. Does a person try one protocol and if it doesn’t work try another?

  12. Does someone have to be irritable for Sepia to work? Or the other remedy you mentioned in the story about Isobel? I am tettering on the brink of menopause. Have horrible hot flashes, night sweats, & migraines…and still have horrendous depression. The depression started from too many losses but I have been going thru “the change” the entire time. I know you give education so we can be empowered to use homeopathy. Would a situation like mine require unraveling or could a protocol work?
I’m trying so hard to figure this out. I’m exhausted.

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

Protocols work for hormonal shifts such as what you’re describing. Should you be interested, I cover these conditions in my course, “Feminopathy”. To answer your question, one does not need to be irritable to benefit form Sepia and if you’d like to read more, google the words “Materia Medica Dr. James Kent, Sepia” and read about it. It will give you a deeper understanding of the medicine.

      1. I am interested but my brain is so fried. I doubt I could take it in right now. I will google as you suggested. I did have a breakdown of sorts. I’ve never experienced something like that before in my life. The timing though. In reading about a timeline (mine is littered with medical junk (not mental but physical) the thing that makes me go hmm…is that I was having hot flashes, night sweats, cycle related migraines and was very tired before that. They are worse now. They came in waves with heart palpitations. My heart is fine though. I have other issues to delicate to put in a comment all related to hormones. I’m nearly in menopause. Maybe Sepia could help. I need a miracle.
You’ve been very kind to answer me. Thank you.

  13. I’m also confused because I was given the name of a doctor who also does homeopathy. When I went to the site I found out he does bioidentical hormones, too. I don’t want hormones. I thought the point of homeopathy was to avoid them. Ugh. He’s out of state anyway. I don’t have a poor attitude but I am confused. I was told that I need constitutional care as it remedies everything. I know you once used just the classical approach. Now you have the protocols. I have your book. I’ve read everything on your site related to sadness and hormones.
Could I need both Aurum Met & Sepia? Or Igntia and Sepia. Or are there other remedies for someone going thru the change who aren’t irritable but have black depression. I’m not asking for remedy names. Just trying to figure out how to get out of this darkness. And get rid of the hot flashes, etc. Nothing I’ve tried is working. I’m not asking for specific info. I know you can’t provide it in this format. Are some cases unsolvable? Could I be too stressed out about it for the remedies to work?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

What you’re describing is something I deal with clients every day of my practice. It is super common and as I said in my earlier response, that its so easy to correct, that I teach it in my courses to people who know nothing about homeopathy.

I don’t use classical because this method is more practical, expedient and reproducible.

      1. But if protocols don’t work do you resort to classical? I try to eat very healthy (no appetite) but don’t excercise a lot. Too tired. Would that be an obstacle to a cure. Plus my anxiety (mostly over being stuck in this situation) is high at times. Another gift from hormones. I haven’t always been a nuerotic mess. Could that make a remedy fail?

        1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

The answer is yes, but they act on 85% of the population who have the condition. That’s super high.
A sedentary life is not an obstacle. An example of an obstacle to cure is when someone has emphysema but continues to smoke.

  14. That’s a good amount. Encouraging. I needed that today. Thank you, Joette.
I know that chronic issues are best treated under a homeopath. I tried classically with a lovely person who is now out on sick leave. I failed the first remedy. Then hormones came up. I came back here to read again. I am very foggy in my head but it seems that hormones aren’t an obstacle to cure and could be part of my illness.
I’m going to try Sepia & Ignatia. I’m afraid. I hear it is risky. But I can’t quit. God has blessed me too much. I’m not completely sedentary but limited due to MS & exhaustion. MS is nothing compared to depression and hormones.
You have been very patient in answering my questions. Thank you for that.

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

No problem and I hope that it does good.

      1. So far no relief. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong.

  15. Michelle Bowen says:

This article was very intriguing and informative. I feel as though the description of the relationship changes and low libido are a perfect fit for my case—but I have never used any chemical hormones or birth control. I have been using sepia to treat my reoccurring UTIs with good success and for migraines related to my period. Just gonna throw it out there: Loss of libido (which was never great in the first place) is getting worse. I have seen something about Agnes castis…but the information I’m finding seems inconsistent. I bring it up here because my lack of artificial hormone use doesn’t fit the description but some of the changes described fit perfectly. [I am healthy, have a great marriage (but this is definitely affecting it), with basically no medical history other than the UTIs and threats of yeast infections more frequently lately but those have been kept at bay naturally as well. Have 6 kids naturally and the baby is 3]. Thoughts from anyone?

    1. Jocelyn says:

I was having that same issue and had thought I was proving the Sepia but, when I started to decrease my use of it I started regressing in the other areas that had improved. I then decided to stick with it and see what would happen. I ended up getting my libido back while continuing with the Sepia. Joette says that homeopathic remedies will get you through whatever condition or illness you have quicker than usual. I think that the low libido was another part of the hormonal picture that just hadn’t presented until that point and then when it presented the Sepia worked it out in short order. Does that make sense? I took Sepia 200 2D for about 10 months. I have not needed it for the last 5 months. When I started it I was the living embodiment of Sepia. I am now in a wonderful place of stability. I hope this helps.

I know we aren’t supposed to take Sepia during menses, but on the first couple day of menses I get an awful bearing down sensation with a lot of flooding. This also happens to be my 3rd day when I’m due for a Sepia dose. Would this be a time when it’s ok to use during menses?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

Sepia is best used for its ability to uproot these kinds of chronic conditions. Over time, it often corrects such. Meanwhile, there are other concurrent medicines that may be used as SOS.

  18. Marty says:

I just turned 40 years old, have had three children, with the youngest being 6. I have low libido. Heavy periods, not a lot of cramping, but do have some flooding and clots. I also get anxiety before my cycle with bad dreams and restless sleep.
I would love any recommendation you could give me.

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

I don’t give personal recommendations on this forum. You might, however, be interested in checking out my course titled, Feminopathy where I cover these particular conditions and their associated protocols.

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

I don’t take cases on this forum however, should you be interested the most expedient way to approach amenorrhea or any other female condition is by taking my course “Feminopathy”. I cover it fully as well as other female hormonal conditions.

  20. Kelley says:

After reading through all the comments it looks like there are several different recommendations for dosing

It appears they are all OK , Am I correct in assuming this.

    See sepia 200 1xweek
    Sepia 200 3xweek
    Sepia 200 2xday ( and was needed x10 months)

All take the week of mences off.

    Thanks!

    1. K says:

What are the potencies for the remedies recommended? Ie sepia, arnica montana, and sabina?

      1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

Your answer is in the article.

        1. K says:

Thank you for the reply – are they all the same, x; c; ck; etc?

          1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

THey’re not the same but depending on how they’re being used, close enough that in many cases they can be interchangeable.

  21. Kate says:

Hi Joette, thank you for sharing this.i too have prolonged periods with painless flooding of ‘strawberry-colored clots and watery blood. Would I only take Sabina 6 2x d twice a day throughout the month to correct this imbalance?
Including the sepia 200 every other day
As well as ammonium 200 every other day ?

  22. Kate says:

Joette, just to further clarify I’m 50yrs old
    I’ve been taking Caulophyllum 2x d
    Ammonium 200 every 10 days
To stop Menorrhagia according to the Banerji protocol
Arnica 6 c (200 works better) for flooding
Clearly my uterus is atonic given the flooding occurs if I do any type of movements that are the least bit intense, I.e. mowing lawn , yoga , weed whacking . Do you think I ought to increase the ammonium (I do feel a craving for it and immediate emotional relief upon taking it) and if I add Sabina 6 2xd will that uproot my imbalance?
    Thank you for your time!
    With much appreciation ,
    Kate

    1. T Chow says:

Can you take the protocol : Arnica Montana 3 mixed with Sabina 6c more than 2D? Just gave to my 16 year old daughter once in the morning and the pain is back around lunch. Thank you

      1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

We often find that when it comes to an acute condition that the medicines may be used as needed.

  23. Tannys Chow says:

Is the arnica Montana a 3c or 3 x? Thank uou

  24. Kara Gallion says:

If I have very painful periods but I’m not heavy could I still try the arnica and Sabina protocol? Or does it have to be painful AND heavy?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

This protocol is often used for menorrhagia but if it’s not successful we move on to the next protocol.

  25. Sonja says:

As a post menopausal 62 year old woman, who is taking HRT since 8 years I am confused if there is any remedy for us, more senior women, also? I tried to get off the HRT but my doctor forbids me to do so, saying I’ll have to take it for life otherwise my menopause symptoms come back. True, I didn’t take the HRT pills for 2 days and I got terrible hot flashes and my forehead was sweating and got anxiety and a “stuffy” head, insomnia ect. ect. In the GGBG course you talk about ammonium carbonicum 200 eoD for pre, and post menopause, but I am not sure if at this point in my time, this could help me since I don’t have any menses or bleeding problems. Could this help with readjusting my hormones so I can wean off slowly from the HRT which gives me lots of other troubles also. GI and low back pain and itching and feeling spaced out ect. ect. I cannot find any answer to this, and I want to get off HRT asap. My health is deteriorating due to it, and I cannot afford to take another Feminopathy course.I tried Sulphur 30 for hotflashes, but I had a bad night with nightmares after I took the first dose.

On my blogs, FB, podcasts, etc., I try to give as much information as possible with specific protocols for conditions and situations that are simple. However, when a case is complicated by the long-term use of drugs and other factors it requires more finesse and involved case management. So to answer your question, are there homeopathic medicines for this or that? The answer is yes, but…

  26. Sonja says:

Thank you. So in my case, what to do then. Just continue with the HRT, because I can’t stop without having severe re-bound symptoms, or try different remedies as per the materia medica, and see if any works?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

I can’t specifically give you advice on this forum but in general, unless someone has experience with taking a case that includes concurrent consumption of meds. it’s always better to either study carefully or procure the aid of a seasoned homeopath.

  27. Sonja says:

Thank you. what are your charges per session and how would this be done.

Thank you for this post! Would Sepia 200 also work for a teenage girl whose menses stopped abruptly (amenorrhea)?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH says:

Sepia in general is better chosen for older women or mothers. But stand by; I have another blog about to be published this coming weekend that will discuss a better choice for girls.

      1. Olenka T. says:

Thank you, Joette! I am definitely going to be on the lookout. And thank you for all the work you do to empower mothers to take care of their families! May the Lord bless you abundantly!

If sepia is good for dealing with a prolapsed uterus, how would you deal with the fact that sepia should be avoided during menses but I’ve currently got basically an on-going period that doesn’t want to end? Other than a few days off here and there (longest stretch at any time off has been a week), I’ve basically been having a period for going on almost 8 months now. Some months I only get a couple of light days and then right back at it. Some months I might get a couple of days off and then back at it. Once or twice, I’ve had as long as a week off before starting back up.

In the meantime, I’ve started having trouble with my uterus trying to prolapse. I had forgotten about not taking sepia during menses so there have been some times where I’m sure I did. The first time I tried it for my uterus, one dose did the trick. But then a few days later, it was back. I’ve only taken Sepia when I noticed I was having trouble with my uterus and usually a dose or two put things right, or at least enough that I wasn’t overly concerned. But the last week or so, a dose or two isn’t doing much, if anything. I’ve currently been bleeding for 4 weeks straight.

But after reading through the comments on here and being reminded to avoid sepia during menses, should I stop trying to address the prolapsed uterus with sepia? Is there something else that would be better to try in place of sepia? I’ve taken your feminopathy course but don’t remember anything being mentioned about a period that doesn’t want to stop. And after nearly 8 months, I am more than ready to tell it goodbye for awhile! Then I could take advantage of all that sepia offers without being concerned with having to avoid it during menses.

  31. Susanna says:

What does the sepia do if taken during menses? The bottle I have states it “Relieves bloating and lower back pain during menstruation.” It’s the 200ck sepia by Boiron.

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH says:

All homeopathic medicines have a vast ability that would be impossible to cover on the outside of a bottle. If you’re interested in exploring the ability of this medicine, read it in you materia medica. Its covered in mine but if you don’t have it you may go online and look at Dr. JAmes Tyler Kent’s for free.
When we use Sepia for chronic conditions, meaning it’s used regularly, it has a different effect than if used for an acute of bloating and back pain during menses.
