From the moment we get out of bed in the morning, we are on our feet. Poor things. They’re stuck receiving very little attention from the rest of our bodies while mercilessly residing at the business end of the punishment from our daily movements.
Enter peripheral neuropathy: the equivalent of our feet screaming in protest.
Neuropathy of the feet can cause pain, tingling, numbness, loss of motor skills and imbalance.
One of my Mighty Members recently wrote to my team inquiring about this condition. (That’s just one benefit of being a member, my friends. My Mighties have a direct line of communication with my team for sharing success stories and personal anecdotes or requesting more education on specific conditions or homeopathic medicines.)
Regarding peripheral neuropathy, I must warn: There is such a broad range of differing ways the condition presents that I really can’t educate on any sufferer’s specific set of symptoms without taking the full case. However, I’m happy to begin your education on the condition with some general knowledge I’ve derived through my clinical experience.
Cocculus for Peripheral Neuropathy in the Soles of the Feet
For instance, if the symptoms are more felt in the soles of the feet, historically, the use of Cocculus indicus 6C — twice daily, until very much better — has resulted in improvement.
Now, keep in mind this is not a protocol. So, by all means, this is not hard and fast information. However, upon repertorizing the symptom, this is one of the most prominent homeopathic medicines that would make the most sense for the greatest number of people.
Plus, clinical experience is often gold!
Graphites for Peripheral Neuropathy in the Toes (or for Numbness when Walkiing)
Another common symptom of foot neuropathy is tingling or pain in the toes. For that presentation of neuropathy, I would most likely consider a different homeopathic medicine. This time, my repertorizing would lead me to Graphites 6C — twice daily, until very much better. Again, this is not a protocol, but it would be at the top of my list to consider.
Another common symptom of peripheral neuropathy — and a specific rubric found in the repertory — is numbness of the feet when walking. Once again, Graphites 6C, employed twice daily, until very much better, is a strong consideration.
By matching specific symptoms to the appropriate homeopathic medicine, I’ve observed enough foot pain melt away, allowing the sufferer’s feet to transform from angry to content!
Repertorizing a Condition When There Is No Protocol
However, if you are not well-versed in utilizing a repertory, I refer you to my previous blog post, You Can’t Judge a Book by Its Cover. That post is by no means all the information you would need to become proficient in harnessing the wealth of information in a homeopathic repertory, but it’s a start.
To thoroughly educate my students on how to wield the repertory expertly, we spend a great deal of time learning and practicing. If homeopathy is your passion, join us. Your newfound homeopathic competence and confidence will benefit you, your family, your community, and even future generations.
Meanwhile, continue to enjoy my free blog, where I will educate you on a new topic each week to whet your appetite for this intellectually delicious topic — Practical Homeopathy®.
My Mighty Members can look forward to continuing the topic of foot pain in my next weekly Memo to Mighty Members. This coming Thursday, I’ll tackle yet another suggestion from one of my Mighties: Morton’s Neuroma, a tumorous growth of nerve tissue in the foot.
Pass on the good news of Practical Homeopathy®!

It is fully the client's choice whether or not to take advantage of the information Joette presents. Homeopathy doesn't "treat" an illness; it addresses the entire person as a matter of wholeness that is an educational process, not a medical one.
