I’m not talking about the stuff that comes out of a carton. Yuck!
I mean the kind that’s loaded with live enzymes, nutrient dense vitamins and of course delicious good cheer.
The most important ingredient is that the ingredients be important. That is, preferably raw, organic milk and cream and free range egg yolks. Here’s one of my Christmas favorites:
12 free range eggs
6 cups raw milk
2 cups heavy, raw cream
1/2 cup raw honey. If you don’t like the flavor of honey, consider maple syrup or succanat
2 teaspoons freshly ground nutmeg
Traditional Eggnog Directions
Submerge the eggs (still in the shell) in a large bowl of near boiling hot water plus a few drops of dish soap. As the water cools; wash, rinse then wipe the eggs dry.
Separate the egg yolks, place in a mixer with the honey and beat for 10 minutes.
Allow to cool in the refrigerator for up to 8 hours
30 minutes before you plan to serve, mix the milk into the chilled yolk mixture. If you plan to add brandy, this is the time to incorporate it.
Stir in 1+ 1/2 teaspoons ground nutmeg.
On high-speed, in a separate bowl, beat the cream until the cream forms stiff peaks.
In yet another bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form.
Gently fold the egg white mixture into the egg yolk mixture.
Gently fold the cream into the egg mixture.
Ladle into cups and sprinkle with the remainder of nutmeg.
Serves: 8
I am a homeopath with a worldwide practice working with families and individuals via Zoom. I'm also a teacher and most importantly, a mom who raised my now-adult children depending on homeopathy over the last 31 years. I lived decades of my life with food intolerances, allergies, and chemical sensitivities until I was cured with homeopathy, so I understand pain, anxiety, and suffering. You may feel that your issues are more severe or different than anyone else’s, but I have seen it all in my practice and in my work in India. My opinion is that nothing has come close to the reproducible, safe and effective results that my clients, students and I have achieved with homeopathy.
Call today and learn how homeopathy might just be the missing piece in your health strategy.
Joette is not a physician and the relationship between Joette and her clients is not of prescriber and patient, but as educator and client. It is fully the client's choice whether or not to take advantage of the information Joette presents. Homeopathy doesn't "treat" an illness; it addresses the entire person as a matter of wholeness that is an educational process, not a medical one. Joette believes that the advice and diagnosis of a physician is often in order.

Yum!
This does look like the best Eggnog ever! I can just smell its full fragrance now. And I have all of the ingredients!
I apologize for not knowing better practices, but why the boiling water for the eggs?
A holy Advent and a most joyous Christmas!
Haha great words: The most important ingredient is that the ingredients be important.
Need to make some egg nog as I always resort to the Starbucks version and its just not all that and a bag of chips to be honest.
Oh – I have yet to make this yet this year! Thanks for the reminder. I never liked eggnog until I tried a similar recipe to this one.
I believe the hot water with dish soap on the eggs is just to make sure the eggshells are very clean since you are using them raw.
Yum!
Thanks for the hot water note! If there is more, let me know.
This very recipe is the one I used without the nutmeg for several of our children when they were newly weaned.
I just put a raw egg, raw honey to less than sweet taste (yes, they were older than 12 months…), and filled the sipper cup with raw milk. Shaking it was all I needed, although I must add that the sipper cups were very textured which must have been good for mixing. I removed the white string mass from the egg so that the sipper cup would not plug.
Nice blog! I also say that homeopathy is working, we have the same opinion!
Joette- Where can you purchase good raw honey? Thanks for the recipe. You are the best! Merry Cheer to you!
Good places would be your local farmers market, health food stores, and if they’re in your area, Wegmans or Whole Foods
