Homeopathy for Catholics

Do you wonder if homeopathy is acceptable within your religious beliefs? Well, if you’re Catholic, consider its use and acknowledgement of its efficacy by the Vatican. Popes Pius VIII, lX, X, Xll, as well as Mother Teresa and her order, used homeopathy. Pope John Paul ll’s physician, Dr. Francesco Negro, was awarded the Order of St. Gregory for his work as a homeopathic physician. The Order of St. Gregory is the highest honor bestowed on a lay person by the Vatican.
Many Catholic hospitals and clinics throughout the world, especially in Italy and India, have used homeopathy because it is safe, has the ability to address much suffering and is inexpensive. The Jesuits, under direct service to the pope, have had a long history of using homeopathy throughout the world. As a certified homeopath, I support the right to life movement personally and professionally as do many other homeopaths. Consider homeopathy for you and your family’s healthcare with confidence and comfort knowing you are also supporting a rich history that the Vatican and other great Catholics have sanctioned.

I am a homeopath with a worldwide practice working with families and individuals via Zoom. I'm also a teacher and most importantly, a mom who raised my now-adult children depending on homeopathy over the last 31 years. I lived decades of my life with food intolerances, allergies, and chemical sensitivities until I was cured with homeopathy, so I understand pain, anxiety, and suffering. You may feel that your issues are more severe or different than anyone else’s, but I have seen it all in my practice and in my work in India. My opinion is that nothing has come close to the reproducible, safe and effective results that my clients, students and I have achieved with homeopathy.

Call today and learn how homeopathy might just be the missing piece in your health strategy.

Joette is not a physician and the relationship between Joette and her clients is not of prescriber and patient, but as educator and client. It is fully the client's choice whether or not to take advantage of the information Joette presents. Homeopathy doesn't "treat" an illness; it addresses the entire person as a matter of wholeness that is an educational process, not a medical one. Joette believes that the advice and diagnosis of a physician is often in order.

Please can you give me links for proof of the following :
“Dr. Francesco Negro, was awarded the Order of St. Gregory for his work as a homeopathic physician.”

Dana Ullman, Our homeopathy historian has researched and unearthed this and other interesting tidbits and personalities associated with homeopathy. See “The Homeopathic Revolution; Why Famous People and Cultural Heroes Choose Homeopathy.” It stands to reason since homeopathy is alive in Europe in homeopathic hospitals and universities, except in communist countries.

Thank you so much for this post, Joette – my sister has been dealing with some misinformed friends at college, who insist that homeopathy is all about dark spirits and other such occult things, and that Catholics were to have nothing to do with it. I explained to her how it worked, and just sent her the link to this post – thanks again!

    1. You’re welcome, Natalie!

I found this quote by Father Stephen F. Torraco on EWTN’s website about Catholicism and Homeopathy: http://www.ewtn.com/vexperts/showmessage.asp?number=503140&Pg=&Pgnu=&recnu=

Father says “The principle behind homeopathy and chiropractic treatment – essentially cooperating with nature, as I previously explained – is in perfect harmony with faith and right reason.”

Dr. Antonio Negro (1907-) of Naples was the father of Dr. Francesco Negro and a leading Italian homeopathic physician. He was the homeopathic doctor to Pope Paul VI (1897-1978) and he was granted the Order of St. Gregory for his work in homeopathy. I’m not sure if Dr. Francesco also received the award, but his father is who Dan Ullman wrote about in his book. I tried to look up more information but couldn’t find any. Dr. Francesco Negro was the homeopathic doctor to Pope John Paul II, and even though some Catholics like to criticize homeopathy by quoting his Encyclical which they claim covers all “new age” medicine (which I don’t consider homeopathy to be), it would make no sense for Pope John Paul II to be seeking treatment from his personal homeopathic doctor and then include that among the practices that he warns about! Dana’s book is fascinating as it shows that the Catholic Church and the Protestant Leaders were all great homeopathic users and supporters. They are a big reason that so many countries learned about it and people embraced it. So much so, that it threatened the conventional medical practices at the time– they didn’t like that they were losing business to all these priests and ministers! So it must have been efficacious and definitely was promoted by the Catholic Church!
