Cavities? Try Homeopathy

Cell salts are integrated into the building my sons used to construct. As they grew older, I'd leave it up to them to take their 4 pills while playing with Lego's.

I'd like to thank The Healthy Home Economist for first sharing the following post with her readers. Now, I'm glad to share it with you, too.

The quality of the teeth represents the status of the bone structure of the body.

Therefore, it’s important that the teeth be sound. If they are, the bones will be reliable, too.

Sometimes, parents are concerned when their child’s teeth show frequent and large cavities in spite of a  nutrient dense diet.

This is rare when children are raised on raw milk, saturated fats and bone stocks but it indeed can occur in children who have certain predisposing DNA.

In this case,  working with a credentialed homeopath would be in order; however, if the caries are not of a particularly worrisome level, much can be done to remedy the problem at home.

It generally takes a good amount of time, however Calc phos 6x and Calc fluor 12x taken thrice daily, for many months has been shown to strengthen and aid in the growth and integrity children's teeth.

These two remedies make a great combination since Calc phos “is concerned with formation of bone and teeth and [is] an important remedy for children”; Calc fluor “is found in the surface of bones and in the enamel of teeth.”[1]

But that’s not all.  They’re specific for growth in general and it’s not uncommon to see children who have problems with their teeth display other growth issues.

Lovely!  That means that with these two remedies, we can address the entire child.

Isn’t that what homeopathy is about?

When my children were growing, I had them take Calc phos and Calc fluor on a daily basis in spite of the fact that they were raised on raw milk bone stocks and saturated fats.

During these years, it appeared that two of our boys’ teeth were growing in a crooked fashion.  In fact, I’m sure that if we hadn’t chosen our holistic dentist, we  might have been pressured to consider dental  braces.

Instead, I believed that as they grew, their teeth would grow and straighten accordingly.

That’s exactly what happened.

A simple technique for administering these remedies is to add them directly to jugs of milk.  In one gallon of milk, add 10 or so  pills of each, stir and the job is complete. As your children ingest their milk throughout the day, they’ll get these two remedies in each sip.

Now, our boys have fine, strong and straight teeth without the “aid” of orthodontia.

We saved ourselves not only thousands of dollars, but more importantly,  allowed their bodies to complete the work of bone alignment on their own….with a little help from nutrient dense foods and our beloved homeopathic remedies.

I am a homeopath with a worldwide practice working with families and individuals via Zoom. I'm also a teacher and most importantly, a mom who raised my now-adult children depending on homeopathy over the last 31 years. I lived decades of my life with food intolerances, allergies, and chemical sensitivities until I was cured with homeopathy, so I understand pain, anxiety, and suffering. You may feel that your issues are more severe or different than anyone else’s, but I have seen it all in my practice and in my work in India. My opinion is that nothing has come close to the reproducible, safe and effective results that my clients, students and I have achieved with homeopathy.

Call today and learn how homeopathy might just be the missing piece in your health strategy.

I thought you weren’t supposed to take remedies along with food? is it different with cell salt remedies? thanks!

    1. In my experience, I’ve observed the positive effects of homeopathic cell salts even while taking them along with milk or smoothies.

      1. MamaMurr says:

One of my kids just lost a chunk of tooth from a fall. Could this protocol be useful in the case of losing pieces of tooth from a blow or fall?

  2. Bryce says:

A glass of milk sounds a lot nicer than a visit to the dentist’s office. lol : )

  3. Barb says:

where would I purchase these two remedies?

    1. Hi Barb, Local grocery stores and health food stores often carry homeopathic remedies. Otherwise, I like to recommend my trusted pharmacy, Johnson’s Village Pharmacy.

      1. Virginia says:

Sadly, they announced their closing effective 12/18/18 at 6 PM.

  4. lisa says:

Is the a way I can learn more about Cell Salts. Does Joette have any of her great CD’s that talk about Cell Salts?

    1. Hi Lisa, my CD set, “Cell Salts. The Easy Homeopathy” is a great way to learn more about the cell salts. You can check it out here along with some other educational products, too.

  5. m'smama says:

This is great information! My husband and I were both “dentally challenged” growing up and are definitely looking for preventive measures for our daughter.

  6. chagit says:

How many of each would a child take 3 times a day? For how long..is it continuous?

    1. It is recommended that 3-4 pills equal 1 dose. So, that means, a child could take 1 dose, up to 3 times per day. Or, it’s also recommended to place 4 pills in a glass of water and take 1 sip (1 sip = 1 dose), 3 times per day. Either way works just fine. I often have found that it is best to use these two cell salts for several months in order to see the benefits.

      1. megan says:

confused. 4 pills in water 1 sip. by end of day you get 4 pills. if you just take the pills, by end of day you get 12 pills. why less when In water. I don’t understand?

        1. Just in case Joette doesn’t get a chance to answer, homeopathy works on an energy level. It has more to do with how often you take a dose than the number of pills. Joette can explain it better, but that’s the general idea.

  7. Tish says:

What about using these (or others?) for adult’s teeth? Nice article and good to know that cell salts can be used in beverages.

    Thank you!

    1. I use these cell salts every day myself, because I had a tooth crack and wanted to prevent that from happening in the future. Especially for moms who have nursed extensively…and even those who haven’t, these are important cell salts for years after and while nursing. In fact, it’s what I discuss in great detail on my pregnancy CD and when I meet with pregnant women. These are also important for those who, for years eliminated dairy. They would have some catching up to do.

      1. megan says:

cool. i stopped dairy 3 years ago because bee allergy shots..just like when i was a kid … as adult made me sick on casin. found an emzine that helps. been taking about 1 month. started cell salts 12 2 days ago.maybe in time dairy won’t be issue anymore. can’t wait to move to NC from NY and get our goat and maybe cow so we can have raw. altho I tried raw and I still had problems 18m ago. praying for healing and believe its done already! faith!

  8. Jerian says:

I was looking up to purchase these products and found a liquid version for a great price compared to the tablets. My question is that the Calc phos 6x is only available in tablet but is available in liquid 12x. Can you substitute the 12x liquid for the the 6x? the price is about 1/4 perserving with the liquid vs. tablets.

    1. I prefer to stick with Calc phos 6x and to use it frugally, you can place 4 pills in about 4 ounces of water and when used in this manner, 1 sip (approx. 1 tsp) equals 1 dose. This liquid solution will last up to a week.

  9. Sarah Smith says:

Is it okay to dissolve these remedies in milk that will be used to make milk kefir, or should they only go into plain milk?

    1. Yes, that’s OK to do, Sarah

  10. Sarah Smith says:

I’m having a hard time finding calc fluor in 12x strength. Could I use either 6x or 30x instead?

    1. It’s recommended to go with a 6x if you aren’t able to find a 12x

      1. Mona says:

I have both remedies in 9x potency is it ok?

        1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

I have no experience with using them in 9x.

          1. Justyna Kasper says:

I can only find Calc phos in 6 or 30. Which one is a better choice ?

          2. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

If you read the article carefully you’ll find the answers you’re looking for.

  11. Raquel says:

Hi, my 7 yr old daughter’s two front teeth are coming in crooked, do you think these will help her? How long would she have to be on them for? We also don’t consume dairy because of allergies.
    Thanks!

    1. Thanks for your question. It’s possible that these two cell salt remedies can help straighten her teeth. However, because homeopathy is so individual-specific, it is difficult to say definitively, how much or how soon any given remedy will bring healing. I hope this helps!

  12. Maggie Copp says:

Can this remedy work on pets who have cavities? Maggie

  13. Maggie Copp says:

I should add that the pet is a cat. Maggie

  14. I really feel glad to read your post. I am very inform about teeth, homeopathy and the some of the process in taking homeopathy solution.

  15. Raushanah says:

My homeopath told me that cell salts should not be taken on a regular basis. Only ferrum phos. And only when you feel as if you are coming down with a cold /flu. Is that true? Thabks

    1. I gave my boys Calc Fluor and Calc Phos on a daily basis while they were growing up and they have beautiful teeth now. I also have a daily protocol of cell salts for use during pregnancy that I recently sent out to my newsletter followers. Cell salts are diluted minerals that are present in our bodies, but may be depleted on occasion.

  16. Ana says:

Isn’t it dangerous to take Calc Fluor, as fluor is said to be poisonous?

    1. admin says:

Calc Fluor is the mineral calcium fluoride. During the making of homeopathic remedies, the original substance and repeatedly diluted and shaken so that no toxicity remains in the final remedy. That’s why we can safely use remedies made from such noxious substances as poison ivy.

  17. Lisa Williams says:

    Hi Joette,

Is this the same remedy to use if you have a cavity already?

    Thanks,
    Lisa Williams

  18. Jody says:

Will you please tell me the difference between the 12x and 6x doses?

I am confused as to why 12x is better than 6x?

    Thank you,
    Jody

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

One is not better than the other; they simply have different applications. 6x means that the original substance has been diluted 6 times to the tenth power, while 12x represents a dilution of 12 times to the tenth power.

  19. Jody says:

    Thanks for that, Joette.

So if I am using the 6x to help with dental enamel I am alright?

    Jody

  20. Jess says:

I’m looking to remineralize teeth and prevent cavities. I’m looking up Calc Fluor (Swanson Vitamins. I’m in Canada and their shipping is reasonable and fast so I often use them) and I only only find 6x or 30x but no 12x. Which one should I get?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

!2 x and 6x are close relatives and nearly interchangeable.

  21. Diane says:

    Hello!

    RE: CELL SALTS
    Calc Fluor 12x
    Calc Phos 6x
    * 3-4 tablets / 3x day

Any difference in application for a 62-year old woman with very thin tooth enamel and bone spurs?

I’d like to rebuild my tooth enamel first of all. Eliminating the spurs would be great also.
    Thanks,
    Diane *^~^*

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

You’ve got it! That’s the method.

      1. Justyna Kasper says:

Is Calc phos 12x same as Calc phos 12c?

  22. Diane says:

PS ~ can 4 tablets Calc Flour & 4 tablets Calc Phos be put in 4oz water (or would it be 8oz water?) and take 1 sip/3x per day?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

I like to use either 2-4 ounces of water, regardless of the number of pills.

  23. Terri says:

We are starting the “Cure Tooth Decay” diet from Ramiel Nagel. I can only find the Calc Fluor in 6X. Is the 10 a piece of each still going to give each of us what we need or should I supplement with more than that. Thanks!

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

      I like 12 x better, but 6 is a good second choice.

  24. Maria says:

    Hi Joette

I’m trying to strenghten my daughter’s teeth and to eliminate some stains on her top teeth (I dread these are signs of early cavities despite the nutrient dense diet she has…). I saw your recommendation but I only find Calc fluor 12x (http://www.vitalizednutrition.com/default/calcarea-fluorica-12x-by-unda.html) and I think it’s not the same as you recommend, is it? You mention Calcium Fluoride, right? I’m a bit confused 🙂

    Thank you for your help!

  25. Maria says:

*strenghten = strengthen (sorry for the autocorrect…)

  26. Barbara says:

    Hi Joette,

This is amazing information! I had no idea it was possible to strengthen teeth and prevent cavities.
When my son was 4 he had 8 cavities all at once. They were still his baby teeth. Things turned around after that or so we thought. He is now 22 and has shin splints, bruised periosteums, and more.
We do not have any homeopaths it our area. Do you think the calc phos and calc fluor would help?
Thank you for the excellent information you share.

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

Should you be interested, I work with folks the world over on SKYPE. Meanwhile, in the future, I plan to write on this subject.

  27. Fatima says:

Would this protocol work for osteoporosis in middle-aged women? Or would adding Silica to the two calcium salts be a good idea? Thank you for sharing such useful and valuable information.

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

The mentioned cell salts as well as Silica could be used for many bone issues, including osteoporosis, regardless of age.

    2. Liz S. says:

I can personally attest to the use of cell salts for osteoporosis. I was diagnosed with very advanced osteoporosis quite (IMHO) young. None of the conventional treatments helped. In fact, they were causing me more problems. My bones were so brittle, I broke my collar bone rolling over in bed. My husband broke several ribs hugging me. I used the cell salts and while my bones will never be what they once were, I’ve managed to restore a great deal of my bone mass and (knock wood) haven’t had a broken bone in a couple of years now. Fabulous stuff!! Highly recommend!!!! Good luck!

      1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

So happy to hear of your success. Consistency rewards.

      2. Liz….could you tell me what exactly you use for osteoporosis. I have never used any homeopathic remedies. It is just cell salts that I look for? Thanks,

        1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

Its a good idea for an upcoming article here.

  28. Farhaana says:

In the description you wrote that one of the remedies Calc. Fluor., however the pic shows Nat. Phos. #10. I got Calc. Fluor. (it says #1, not sure what the #’s mean). Did you mean the Calc. Fluor or in the pic Nat. Phos.?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

I’m surprised that you can read the label on the bottle in the photo. It is just a photo I took of my kids’ building, and was not intended to indicate which remedy to choose. CF is used for dental strength, etc.

  29. Lisa says:

Hi Joette. I was wondering what you would recommend for adults who have had a history of trouble with their teeth as they have gotten into their 40s and 50s. Thanks!!

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

Trouble with their teeth? Do you mean gum boils? cavities? pain? sensitivity?

      1. Lisa says:

Cavities, pain and sensitivity. Thanks so much!

  30. My son was just diagnosed with a few TINY cavities on the sides of his teeth where they touch. I already have a homeopathic mixture of 12 cell salts, would that be good to give him? I of course opted to not to have them filled right away like it was recommended and will get another xray in 6 months, I’d love to see them halted or reversed, what is the best homeopathic protocol for this?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

I can’t offer case taking on this forum but what is most important is the age of your son. THe decision as to what to do has much to do with if he’s 3 yrs old or 20.

      1. He’s 7 1/2 and they are baby teeth thankfully. The dentist said they are due to fall out at about age 9…

        1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

I used the rems I discussed in the article for cavities in one of my child’s teeth.

  31. May Mostacho says:

Hi, Joette! Can I give cell salts to my 21 month old child? She has cavities and I really want to halt or reverse them instead of having fillings or crowns. What is the dosage for her for the calc flour 6x and calc phos 6x?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

Cell salts can be used for any age and the dosage is printed on the side of the bottle. Make sure that what is being described are truly dental caries, and not just innocuous, congenital crevices that may only POTENTIALLY become caries.

  32. Stephanie says:

are the 2 remedies taken together in one dose or separately a few minutes apart?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

I’ve used them both ways and they have not failed me.

  33. Christina says:

I have a general question. In most cases, I’ve heard that remedies should be given 1/2 hour before or after food or drink. So, doesn’t it affect the Calc remedies effectiveness to mix then in a bottle of milk?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

I find that it works in milk and even other foods depending on what the food is.

  34. Karen says:

I have Bioplasma (12 cell salts combo) which includes calc flour 6x and calc phos 3x. Will this be effective for teeth?
Also, I have heard that essential oils disrupt remedies. Is there a timing method where I can use both remedies and EOs throughout the day?
    Thanks so much!

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

If there’s only one cell salt that you need, it is not prudent to take a remedy with 11 others included on a regular basis.

      1. Karen says:

Okay. That makes sense of course. I thought that all of the cell salts were a general good health thing to do but if it’s not necessary then I will focus on CF and CP.
        And the essential oils???

        1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

          Essential oils are fine.

  35. Sarah M. says:

Wow- this info is perfect for my tiny-jawed, crowded teeth 7.5 year old. I’m so thankful for you blog, Joette, and I look forward to buying a kit from you soon this summer! Thank you again!

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

My pleasure. This method made a difference in my childrens’ teeth and they’re now adults with lovely pearly whites.

  36. Christina says:

When mixing in water, how long do i stir them in (minutes) and can i put both remedies in the same glass of water?
For a child, do they only take 3 sips of the water in the entire day?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

One little stir only to incorporate. Whether a child or adult its the same and yes, 3 sips per day is a good way to take this.

  37. Jaye says:

Hi, I’m trying to get my 6 yrs old boy to take CalPhos6x, CalFluor6x, MagPhos6x, Silica for his severe cavity tooth. I was advised to let him take 1 tablet of each every time. Shall I just dilute all these tablets into 4 ounces of water, and let him sip 3 times a day? And can I keep the water until it is finished? Or shall I change a new solution everyday?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

      1) yes
      2)yes
      3) don’t change the water. use the original solution

      1. Danielle says:

Thanks! Do you need to let it sit under your tongue for a second or just sip away? I always thought it needed to go under the tongue. Also, is it okay to put in their bottle of water and just let them drink throughout the day? Sometimes I am not with them all day and want to send it along with them. I have been putting 4 calc flors in my sons water bottle ever morning. Everyone seems to be out of number 2 of Hyland a brand right now.

        1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH says:

Every sip is a dose, so if you want many doses in a day then sipping all day will accomplish that. But over a period of time, that would not be a prudent method for a prophylactic.

If you’ve not already joined one of my study groups, Gateway to Homeopathy, you might want to do that. That’s where you’ll learn about how these medicines are administered.

  38. Cindy says:

I’m excited to try this remedy! Both of my kids have had issues with their teeth and I’ve been breastfeeding for almost six years straight, and I’m starting to have issues with my teeth too. Does it matter if you keep your solution in the refrigerator or on the counter? Does the type of container – glass or plastic – matter? If I put this in my kids’ sippy cups and send them to school/day care, they may get it more than three times per day. Is that a concern? They will likely also be taking it near meal or snack time. Are there certain foods that will render it ineffective? Seems like they’re constantly eating when they’re at home, so it’s hard to find a time between meals to give it to them! Thank you so much for all of the wisdom that you share on your blog and in your classes!!

  39. Regina says:

    Two questions:
    1. Will this remedy (calc phos 6x and calc Fluor 12x) help my 21yo typical daughter who has 4 small cavities?
    2. Will it help my 12yo son with Down syndrome who has very small permanent front teeth (slightly larger than baby teeth)?

    1. In her previous replies, it will help anyone at any age.

      1. Thank you. I was also mainly asking if it will help with existing cavities (4 small ones) and if it will help my son with Down syndrome who has very small permanent teeth (they look like baby teeth).

  40. If I cannot find Calc Phos 6x will 12x work? Thank you

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

You should be able to readily find it in 6. Try amazon. Its best to use it in the lower potency if using it for a long period of time.

  41. Krystal Clark says:

Hi ..my 2 year old has 2 cavities not sure why since she is doesnt have a big sweet tooth.the dr said it may be because she still nurses at night… My question is.. i found calcarea phosphorica and calcarea florica but in 30c is this ok to give her until i get the other potency online? Thank you for your amazing website too it is very helpful.

    1. Courtney Ingham says:

I hate when they speculate like that. Nurse for as long as you see fit.

Potency matters, so if you want the kind of results we’re accustomed to seeing, use in 6x or 3x.

      1. Krystal clark says:

        Thank you!

  42. smshasan says:

hi, can I give CP 6x and CF 12x to my baby, aged 1 year ?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

I gave those to my infants and children well into the years, always making sure that that my rationale was in tact. Never “just because”.

  43. Joyce says:

I would like to give these cell salts to my 6 children. Can I dissolve 10 of each in one gallon of water and have them all drink from it during the day or do I double the amount because I have more children?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

You needn’t double the amount because of the number of children. This method is certainly frugal and would be useful to boost their dental and overall wellness, however, it is not a necessarily a good method for when there is frank pathology. In that case, given that you’re seeking correction, I’d administer directly to the child.

      1. Rachel says:

If you are seeking correction, you can administer directly to the child in water or milk, if it is set aside just for them, right? Thank you!

        1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

Yes, its set aside just for them.

  44. Joyce says:

Thanks for getting back to me, Joette! My older 3 grew up on raw cow and goat milk and have straight teeth and lots of room in their mouths. My younger three do not have raw milk to drink and I am noticing crowding as their permanent teeth grow in. That is what I am hoping to address. Thankfully none have cavities so far! So, what do you think: in the water or directly?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

Although these cell salts are good for dental conditions as well as growth, I wouldn’t consider them the mainstay of straightening crooked teeth when the condition is severe. If only mildly crooked, then yes.

  45. Nicole Eplee says:

If we are taking bioplasma for symptoms for all the cell salts, would you supplement with additional calc fluor and calc phos, or just take bioplasma 3D?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

If you’re already taking them in the mixture, I’d consider it a done deal. Having said this, its usually better to take specific medicines for specific conditions. Perhaps you don’t need the other 10.

      1. Nicole Eplee says:

I understand that you should just take the cell salts you need. After listening to your cell salt audios I felt I had symptoms that lined up with each of the cell salts. So, until some symptoms are uprooted, I felt like bioplasma was the best start. I just wasn’t sure if I should add in additional doses of calc fluor and calc phos for cavities . Thanks for your response. <3

        1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

You will certainly find that you’ll identify with all of the cell salts because they are specific to all of us. In homeopathy, we don’t line up all the conditions and treat each, but rather determine the hierarchy of conditions. In other words, if you have RA, your hair is a little thin and skin is dry, you don’t take medicines for the last 2. Instead you correct the RA and it will likely uproot concomitant conditions. You must be more discerning.

        2. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

If you’re already taking a medicine that includes what you need, to take more is not appropriate.

  46. KC Sawmill says:

So, Joette, when would it be appropriate to take Bioplasma?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

Years ago while I was still learning to use homeopathy and was unsure of what homeopathic that was best for a specific condition, it was a good fail-safe. As my knowledge tightened, I find it less frequent that I turn to it. Now I might use it to buy me time while I determine a more specific path, while waiting for a medicine to come in the mail or when its all I have.

  47. Nikki MacMillan says:

If I add these cell salts to a gallon of raw milk, is it ok for Dad and Mom to be drinking it too? As the mom, I am also nursing and will also be taking the 9th month cell salt protocol. Thank you!

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

You probably need them yourself, but over time, its best not to take a homeopathic medicine, even a cell salt unless called for.

  48. Gaylene says:

if the adult is over 50 and the dentist says the cavities are at the point that they can’t heal, not very big, can the calc fluor and calc phos still heal them, or how do you know if the dentist is right? In the science of homeopathy book it says that going to the dentist and getting a filling can negate what homeopathy has done for you. Is that really true?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

Homeopathy has a history of aiding teeth with caries just as good bone stock and other supportive foods.
A dentist’s drill can stop the action of a homeopathic but upon taking the medicine again will take up where it left off.

  49. Gaylene says:

what about the patient you wrote about where they took Gelsemium or aconitum for the fear and arnica and/or hypericum so that it helped with the pain or trauma of the procedure. if it negates the homeopathic that you took right before the procedure then there would be no benefit to taking it right?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

Only if it indeed negates it. And it might not. And only up until the drill is used. THen if its taken directly after, the medicine takes up where it left off. I wouldn’t consider getting invasive dental work without homeopathy. It has never failed me nor anyone I know.

      You’re over-thinking this.

  50. Gaylene says:

i know that it is not a good idea to take a homeopathic unless there is a need but if you don’t feel pain when you have a cavity and have lost teeth before in the dentist chair because they have found decay to the top of the pulp, is it okay to take hepar sulph 6x preventively for a few days in a case where they are going to fill a cavity?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

Are you trying to prevent an infection that may be caused by drilling, etc?

  51. Gaylene says:

No. I had a drilling for preparation for a crown a few years ago. They found that it had more decay, so much that it was either lose it now or later or root canal. Xrays have never shown the whole story for me. I have previously had xrays not show a cavity next to another tooth and they end up having to fill it. I have fillings scheduled and I want to avoid them trying to fill and possibly finding more decay or an abscess that can’t be seen. I eat bone broth, no sugar, flour, exercise everyday, clean my teeth appropriately but both of my parents had false teeth as teens.

  52. Gaylene says:

is there a remedy that should be taken to get rid of the anesthetic? Especially if it seems to have caused an effect.

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

I have written on conditions and their corresponding homeopathic remedies for over 9 years on this blog, on others’ blogs as well as in journals. If you google what you’re looking for and my name you’re likely to find many.

Read “Stop it! How to Stop a bad Drug Reaction”.

  53. Gaylene says:

doesn’t taking camphor 200c remove everything previously? even progress with homeopathics? It is also hard to know if it’s a reaction to the procedure or antidoting of the homeopathic. There is more heart palpitations than before, which was almost nil but a cough, not exercise induced came out of nowhere the day after. It has calmed down some. I was sick in early February worse than I have been in 25 years with a cough. I used Bryonia and got well. Could the procedure actually antidote symptoms from way back then?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

Camphor’s job is to stop the action of a previously, poorly chosen homeopathic or problematic drug. Its aim is not to undo any good that was accrued.

  54. Gaylene says:

Thank you. After reading Kents, Boerickes, Robin Murphys and Hpathy online, it looks like fluoricum acidum is a good remedy for preventing and healing decayed teeth. What research needs to be done to determine the potency? What are the limitations to taking several remedies for teeth healing? can calc fluor, calc phos and fluoridum acidum all be taken on the same day? if the enamel is thin and decay is aggressive, how many remedies can be taken for the same issue? As long as they are antidoting each other…….

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

You might consider taking a course in homeopathy; because your questions are that involved. However, I have CD’s on the subject of Calc Fluor, Calc phos, Silica and dental concerns and how they’re used. The package is called “Cell Salts; the Easy Homeopathy” and is available on my site.

  55. Anna says:

Joette, In this article you recommend putting 10 pellets each of Calc Flour 12x and Calc Phos 6x into one gallon of water. In the PDF “Teeth Worthy Tips” you write to put 10 Calc Flour SIX (6x) and Calc Phos 6x into a HALF gallon. My question is which is the more recent article of which to follow? Thanks!

  56. Barbie says:

Thank you for this wonderful information. My question is: Can Calc phos 6x and Calc fluor 12x be used in combination (BP) with the same effect? Thank you.

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

If you’re asking me if you can take them simultaneously the answer is yes.

      1. Barbie says:

        Hello Joette,
To clarify, can I use the OHM Pharmacy BP preparation of Calc fluor 12x and Calc phos 6x mixed together? Thank you!

        1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

Taking them from 2 separate bottles or mixed in one as a combination is one in the same.

  57. Arlene Fox says:

Hi Joette! Does it make a difference if the container is plastic or glass when mixing the pills in the liquid and to store? Also, does it need to be refrigerated? We live in Greece and it’s quite hot here now. Thank you!

  58. Carrie says:

Do you recommend this for an 11 month old? Her two bottom baby teeth came in and one is sitting crooked. She nursed exclusively and now eats nutrient dense foods including soup from homemade bone stock. When she turns a year old, I plan to add in Some raw goat milk and continue to nurse some. I also have excluded milk from time to time but have always kept in grass fed butter or ghee. I.also plan to implement the calc phos 6x should I also include the calc flour 12x or kept it 6x like you stare in. Baby Grande?

  59. Natalie says:

Hi Joette. Unfortunately, I found out about cell salts after my 11yo daughter’s teeth have already caused her problems (overcrowding and other issues) so she is now starting orthodontics. We were hoping things would straighten out on their own and perhaps had I found cell salts a few years earlier we could have prevented some of this work but as it’s not the case, we need to move forward on this direction. So my question is this: She has been told she needs to use a flouride rinse daily while she in in braces. We don’t use flouride at all at home not at the dentists. In the past year I’ve gotten familiar with calc flour cell salt and I’m hoping that I can use this in place of the flouride. They are worried that if she doesn’t rinse she will get white spots on her tooth enamel. Can I use Calc flour cell salt in place of the flouride rinse and if so, what is the protocol. Thank you so much in advance for you time and help.

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

All the info. you need is right in the blog article you read. Meanwhile, find yourself a more up to date dentist. You want someone who is on the same page as you. Ask at your local co-op, health food store or your chiropractor’s.

  60. David Pineros says:

Hi Joette, I have a problem with availability of the remedies you shared in my Homeopathic Pharmacy in Colombia and I am not quite sure which ones to use to strengthen my 4 year old teeth.

He complains about pain in a specific area (back of his front teeth), with no sign of serious ailment!
We already stopped a cavity that was forming in his front teeth, years ago, because of excessive amount of sweet fruits throughout the day (Silly me!) Though, we have not been able to remineralize that bit of his tooth, which is chipped!

Back to the medicine, I get all 7 Schussler Salts mixed in powder form (180gr), but I do not know if we need to provide him of all the other salts. Alternatively, I get the following:

Calcarea Phosphorica (15CH or 15C {I believe this potency, since I am unable to find dilutions in the Decimal scale, would be the same as 7.5D or 7.5X}) approaching your recommendation!

    Calcarea Fluorica (30C = 15x).

Now, beyond getting the right potency I still do not know if I should use the powder (which states to have a potency of 6D) or the remedies? My gut tells me the salts should do better in this case, what is your recommendation!

    Thx

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

You can’t find CP and CF in 3x or c or ch?

I prefer using the specific medicine for the specific condition instead of a combination when used frequently and I have no experience with using a potency that is considerably higher for this condition for long-term use.

I believe OHM is located in Columbia, so if you don’t find them there, contact them in the US, so that they can offer specific info.

  62. David P.R says:

I can find CP and CF in 7CH, 9CH, 12CH, 15CH, 30CH, but as I understand this would be the Centesimal Scale, wouldn’t it? and yor recommendation is in the decimal scale, which here in colombia would be labeled with the letter D. There are other potencies, which I do not understand: 0/6, 0/12, 0/30, 0/60. Can you clarify the latter potencies please?

Thank you so much for your swift answer!

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

C is indeed the centesimal scale. But when we come across these situations internationally, or if all that is available is this potency or that, for practical application, we use what we have available as close to the protocol as possible.
A discussion of potencies is too involved to cover on this forum, particularly given international differences.

  63. Kate says:

I am having trouble finding calc fluor in 12x. Hylands does not seem to produce it. Is it ok to use calc fluor 6x and calc phos 6x? After a bit of hunting, I did see calc fluor 12x in alcohol drops for quite a price. I would rather stay with the tablets.

  64. Cindy says:

Kate, Washington Homeopathic Products sells calc fluor 12x. I bought a 2 oz bottle of the tiny pellets… it will last a long time and was very economical!

  65. Kate says:

I tried this for a few weeks, although I did not have the right nunbers. I think I had the calc fluor x30 and the other one as recommended. It seems that I developed several spots of dental fluorosis that are not attractive and I am quite discouraged. Is there any way to do something about this? It is quite discouraging, and perhaps a serious problem because teeth with fluorosis spots seem to be more sensitive to the freezing cold winds when outside temperature is below zero recently.

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

If you hope to enjoy results that I have come to expect, it’s important to follow the protocol. Potency is key to success.

      1. Kate says:

Thank you for your response. Now I gather there is not hope whatsoever, and nothing to be done. It would appear that the adverse affects are a proving, and are serious.

        1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

From where would you gather that?
And how do you know that what has happened is from a homeopathic medicine and not a natural progression of the condition?

  66. Kate says:

From Washington h.products, I did order calc fluor 12x as suggested. Thank you Cindy. But the damage had already been done by then. I have not even opened the bottle since then.

  67. Katrina says:

I have 2 children…ages 22 months and almost 4 years old. Both have bad enamel erosion on front teeth. I’ve upped vitamins….will calc phos 6x and calc flu or 6x help to rebuild enamel? I got these 2 bc that’s all that was offered by hylands.

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

      6x is good too.

  68. David Pineros says:

Hi Joette, belated thx for your response! I am one of your many International followers!
To summarize, having read all the comments, Can you please help me shed some light about What possible protocol to follow. I also wonder about the way to ingest these remedies:

    1. In Colombia I got CP7CH CF15CH (Should I completely discard these because of the potency?)

    2. The one coming from the U.S is: Hylands CP12x and CF30x (Already realizing CF might have been better in 6X rather than 30x) Apparently this order got lost, so I would order again CP12x and CF6x

Diluting the remedies in water seems much more frugal, as you put it, than taking the individual dose. For my 4 year old 4 pellets per remedy (recommended in the bottle). So, in 4 ounces of water I would dilute 4 pellets of CP12x & 4 Pellets of CF6x, followed by three sips throughout the day: one in the morning, one at noon and one in the evening as opposed to having my boy have 24 pellets throughout the day, right?

    Thx
    David

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

I wouldn’t discard a homeopathic since you might find it useful at a later date.
I would, however, urge you to stay true to the potencies specific to the condition.
Yes, you may dissolve 4 pellets of each in 4 ounces or less of water with 2-3 sips over the course of a day.

  69. David Pineros says:

…A local homeopath, after hearing my idea of using these two salts to address tooth pain with no serious cavities, and to stregthen my 4 year-old growing process recommended the following: (completing my comment above about the 1st possible protocol to follow):

CF15CH and CP7CH 1 dose per day for a couple of months then evaluate progress on pain.

Taking into account limited availability how does this sound to you?

    Thx again!

    David

  70. Mary says:

Does Cal Phos 6 and Cal Flour 6 help adults have stronger, healthier teeth too?

  71. Dawn says:

You often mention using the cell salts in 6 or 3 x but I would love to know why the potency of Calc flor in 12X .. the banerjis in some of there protocols ( for example salivary glands use 3 x.) So why the difference for teeth vs other reasons for this potency of 12x

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

There’s more than one way to skin a cat. Practitioners have their preferences throughout the world and over the centuries.

  72. Anni says:

I have been giving my 4 year old son calc fluor 6x two times a day for a week. For the past 4 days he has been peeing dozens of times a day, sometimes 10 times in a row. He does not have a UTI or a concern for diabetes, per urine test. Then I heard a second friend had this same problem with her son, and they had been taking the cal fluor too. I am wondering now if this could sometimes be a side effect? We are going to quit taking it I guess.

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

Side effects are something that result from using a drug that is correct but is an unhappy set of symptoms that must be endured. What you describe is not a side effect; its the use of an incorrect medicine probably because the condition was not identified properly.

  73. Rachel says:

I am confused on one point. Can you please help me understand how your sons drinking glasses of milk throughout the day jives with the 1 sip = 1 dose? Wouldn’t they be getting many doses per glass that way? Thank you!

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

Yes, they would potentially get more than a few doses per day if they didn’t drink it down in total.

  74. Rachel says:

Homeopathy is proving to be endlessly fascinating. I believe I understand now, thank you. Chugging a whole glass down at once is the same as a sip, what matters for dosing is time between rather than quantity. The space between contact with a remedy is what makes it an additional dose. Many thanks once again!

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

      You’ve got it.

  75. Sarah says:

Could I put them in water instead of milk? And how much of it would they need to drink per day to get the right amount?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

One good swallow of water or milk or any beverage for that matter is = one dose. 2-3 doses per day are optimal.

  76. Molly Yarolim says:

I’m so excited to begin using this for my own children! I have a question regarding me, the breastfeeding mama. I have been following a breastfeeding protocol you recommended elsewhere – Calc Fluor 6X twice daily and Cinchona 200 EOD. Would you recommend switching to Calc Fluor 12X and adding the Calc phos 6x for me as well? Whether during breastfeeding and/or pregnancy? I’ve been pregnant and/or nursing for almost 9 years (and counting!) so I’m sure my teeth could use the extra boost if that’s what you would recommend. Thanks, and God bless you!!

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

CF 12 or 6 as well as CP 6 or 3 are good choices for dental protection.

  77. Rachel says:

    Mrs. Calabrese,

If a cavity is present, might one ever add in Silica to help push out the decay?

    ~ Thank you ~

  78. Michelle says:

Hi! Is there a difference between hylands and borion cell salts? Or is there on errand you prefer over another?

    Thanks!

    Michelle

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

      They’re both reputable.

      1. Sherry says:

The bourbon 6ch and 12ch are ok to take same way? Dilute in water and 1 sip 3x daily or is there another Canadian company I can go with?

        1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, PHom M says:

You mean Boiron, correct? If so, I have respect for them and use them consistently.

  79. Arefa says:

Will these medicines cure my 8 years old son’s teeth cavities? How long should he take these ?

  80. Jenny says:

If we can’t do dairy…could I do the same thing with a jug of water that you did with the milk? We have a hard time remembering the three times a day thing so if it could just be in a jug we use to refill her personal water bottle that would be much easier!

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

I would not count on this method for a condition you’re trying to treat that is concerning. Having said this, water can be a carrier as well.

  81. Shannon says:

Can this dental protocol and the prenatal protocol be done simultaneously, or is it better to build baby and work on cavities later?

If together, Would I take Calc Fluor in 12x like the dental protocol, or 6x like the prenatal protocol?
Would all the remedies be mixed together in the same water dose cup for both protocols, or make two cups, one for each protocol? Or should each cell salt be separated and not mixed?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

I often approach a few conditions simultaneously within the same schedule.
I most often used CF12 for pregnancy and dental conditions.
Lastly, cell salts may indeed be mixed in water together, but my preference in the last many years is to take them separately within minutes of each other, dry in the mouth.

      1. Leah R says:

        Hi
Is it better to take them dry in the mouth, even if the remedies are together on one pellet? Ohm pharma sells it all in one, so that would be easier for dosing if need to use dry.

        1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, PHom M says:

          all are good.

  82. Anna Sanner says:

Can this be accomplished by taking homeopathic bioplasma daily?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

It’s always better to use the specific medicines conducive to the specific conditions when we know it/them rather than employing more than necessary.

      1. Heidi says:

I was just curious if taking Calc Phos would regrow bone in areas not desired..for ex: I had severe sinus surgery to remove part of the bone that was blocking my nasal passages, and now am worried that these remedies might promote the bone to grow back in my sinuses.

        1. Marina says:

I’m wondering the same. Can these both medicines promote overgrowth in chest bone ( as pectus carinatum)?

          1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

I have not witnessed such. Having said that, Homeopathy doesn’t manipulate the system. Instead, it makes corrections.

  83. Karen Porter says:

Is this helpful for adults with tooth decay?

  84. Lonika says:

I am an adult . I have cavities is these helpful in reverse cavities . Which combination of homeopathy I used

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH says:

These medicines are not specific to a particular age.

  85. Katy says:

I am a teeth grinder apparently. Just had to have my first crown and she sees another that needs one. 🙁 Old fillings and enamel work down and decay starting to set in. Any chance following this protocol could reverse the damage done to prevent the crown? Or in the least prevent future teeth breaking down? (Dental issues give me anxiety)! Thanks!!

  86. Cheriena says:

Hello,my daughter has extreme tooth decay, but she is only 2 years old. Can she take these salts safely? Thank you!!!!

  87. Leah says:

    Hi
Thank you for sharing all this information! I am starting to give my 5 and 7 year old kids raw milk every day. And the cell salts, and different minerals, in order to cure their cavities. We eat a healthy diet at home, but they have lunches in school, and I’m wondering if one meal a day isnt so great, would their cavities still hopefully heal?
