MRSA is short for Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus. It is basically a specific strain of the Staph bacteria; one that adapts quickly to suppressants, especially antibiotics.
This means that if you take one round of antibiotics for MRSA, this bacteria has a history of adapting and becoming resistant to that particular antibiotic, which usually leads to the doctor prescribing another round of stronger antibiotics.*
Now, if you have MRSA, I’m not saying that you don’t go to a doctor. Indeed, they at least have to diagnose it, and perhaps you want to be under their observation while dealing with this condition, but what if you don’t have a doctor nearby? What if medical facilities are not available? What would you do?
Wouldn't it be wise to prepare? Right here and right now, we can learn how to become more self-reliant and independent—how to brush up on our skills should we face unexpected health challenges.
So if I had MRSA, this is what I would do.
My wonderful friends, the Drs. Banerji, have a protocol for this condition:
But I also learned from another renowned homeopath and my teacher of 5 years, Dr. Ramakrishnan, that one can employ:
I have seen both protocols work, but I must admit that I have had a lot more experience with the Aurum arsenicum protocol, as I learned it years before I began the Banerji Protocols.
I have yet to see it fail. Let me share one such experience.
My cousin was nailing on a roof to his home when he accidentally whacked his thumb with a hammer in the process. He cleaned it when he came down from the roof, and never gave it another thought. It became painful over a period of days, and soon it was clear that it had become infected. He was scrupulously clean and cared for it consistently, but it got worse and worse.
In short order, he went to the doctor who diagnosed it as MRSA. I’m sure we all know that he was given an antibiotic for a period of time that I don’t recall (but I dare say this round of antibiotics lasted weeks.) The MRSA infection simmered down a bit, but then it came back with more intensity.
And this repeated over a period of many months: Antibiotic, the infection waned, then MRSA would flare; antibiotic, wane, flare. Until finally one day he called me. He asked if I knew what could be done, and I told him about my favorite protocol of that time: Aurum arsenicum 6.
It took about four days for the color to return and the pain to minimize, and about two more weeks for the pain to be permanently gone. He continued until the wound and its infection were completely clear. Meanwhile, I urged him to have his doctor look at it regularly, which he did.
And THAT is how we nailed MRSA.
Jot down these protocols and tuck them away in your personal notes. We never know when an infection might become a threat and to have such important information at your fingertips is the best way … the only way to own your and your family's health care.
Warmly,

I am a homeopath with a worldwide practice working with families and individuals via Zoom. I'm also a teacher and most importantly, a mom who raised my now-adult children depending on homeopathy over the last 31 years. I lived decades of my life with food intolerances, allergies, and chemical sensitivities until I was cured with homeopathy, so I understand pain, anxiety, and suffering. You may feel that your issues are more severe or different than anyone else’s, but I have seen it all in my practice and in my work in India. My opinion is that nothing has come close to the reproducible, safe and effective results that my clients, students and I have achieved with homeopathy.
Call today and learn how homeopathy might just be the missing piece in your health strategy.
Joette is not a physician and the relationship between Joette and her clients is not of prescriber and patient, but as educator and client. It is fully the client's choice whether or not to take advantage of the information Joette presents. Homeopathy doesn't "treat" an illness; it addresses the entire person as a matter of wholeness that is an educational process, not a medical one. Joette believes that the advice and diagnosis of a physician is often in order.

Thank you so very much! My youngest son acquired MRSA August of 2008. Two hospital stays of 4 days each… a reaction to the Vancomycin being administered through a “pic line” Finally a doctor determined he had an allergic reaction A very scary time. I will made note of your suggestions, hopefully I will not need them, but I’m thankful to have a way to attack MRSA should we ever need it in the future. Thank you for your work!
Fantastic, Joette! My mother has recurring mrsa infections. I also have marcons, triple abx resistant. Any idea if the protocol above is effective for that, as well?
Thank you!
I wouldn’t consider this a treatment for abx resistance, but rather for a specific kind of soft tissue infection when it presents.
So, do you think it would help heal MARCONS? My family is also dealing with this and we really want to avoid the BEG spray that is so harsh! I’m even having trouble tolerating a more natural spray.
Was the protocol helpful for your MARCONS treatment? Thank you
Your Material Medica says arsenicum iodatum for MRSA
Thanks so much! Wonderful information and remedy to have on hand for when needed.
Joette,
Where in the U. S. can one purchase Aurum Arsenicum, or online for delivery in the U.S.? The link in your blog post above points to Arsenicum album.
I linked to Helios in England because they have Aurum arsenicum. You’ll have difficulty finding it in the U.S.
If you are ordering from OHM Pharma, you will find the spelling of Aurum Arsenicosum. It is the same remedy.
Hi Joette,
In the Banerji’s protocol, on the days you give the Hepar Sulphur, does it have to be taken at a different time from when you are taking the Hypericum+Arsenicum mixture; or can you take the three of them together?
Thanks so much for sharing this,
Paula
Its a good idea to space homeopathic medicines apart from each other by about 15-30 minutes.
You say Aurum Arsenicum 6 — is that 6x, 6c? Thanks! I will be bookmarking this!
I don’t say whether its x or c because it depends on where you live and what you can find.
I actually followed your link for the aurum arsenicum and Hahnemann does not list it at all.
That post was written long enough ago that things may have changed. If you’re a client or student of mine you may purchase from OHM Pharmacy.
they do have it!! I emailed them and they said that not all remedies are listed online and to give the a call and place order that way! I am super excited because I muscle tested Aurum Arsenicum as the perfect remedy for me. Thank you so much for this article Joette!
Is it the same dosage (3-4 times a day) whether it’s 6c or 6x?
x and c are close enough to consider them relatively interchangable.
And is it just one pill (I got the 6c) per dose, 3-4 times a day?
The number of pills that comprise a dose is printed on the bottle.
i’ve had reoccurring staph infections over the last 14 months. The doctor assumed the first infection (an abscess in the breast) was MRSA but never had it officially tested. Every 3-4 months or so i get a new infection (abscess, boil, impetigo, etc). Would i do this protocol to get the staph out of my body completely? for how long would i want to continue it?
This protocol is specific for MRSA. When it comes to abscesses you might want to read about that on this blog. Use the word “abscess” in the search bar and you’ll find info specific to abscesses and boils.
I’m amazed that Aur-ar would work here; I don’t see the rationale unless the patient is depressed, anxious and with a tuberculous or syph constitution.
Aur salts affect all the internal organs, of course, and aur-ar is known to increase the appetite which might help (hence its use in other diseases).
As we know, homeopathic prescriptions need to be well matched to the patient and how they react, rather than to the ‘disease’ itself. For that reason, the people asking for help with MARCONS should really, really try to get a full homeopathic consult rather than trying to pick up cure-all tips on the web (would you try do-it-yourself surgery based on web advice?!). Marcons would almost certainly need a constitutional approach, focussed on the individual patient.
For staph, ant-c is the only high-rated remedy in Murphy’s repertory – and that’s a remarkable remedy for every thing from pneumonia to dental abcess. If indicated.
I often wonder how many visually diagnosed cases of “MRSA” are in fact spider bites, which would account for why they don’t respond to antibiotics. The huge destruction of tissue I see in web pictures for both conditions seems to have more to do with overly enthusiatic and uninformed surgery than the conditions themselves (look carefully, you’ll see the scalpel tracks).
I concede it’s more likely in the case you report here that the sepsis was acquired from the trauma (Bellis maybe?)
The appearance tends to be hot, red, rapid, destructive, and in need of good circulation as well as resilience. I’d be thinking of other remedies such as potencies of belladonna or pyrogenum, the snakebites (as appropriate), maybe myristica, etc etc. You’d really need to get in underneath it.
Yes, the higher potency of hepar would have similar expulsive effect to high silica, and hypericum is good for the healing phase in fingers where the nerves need repair.
Arsenicum alb – if you have an arsenicum type patient certainly (anxiety, easily exhausted, restless, nightly aggravation, suffocated), and it is indicated for sepsis (with bad odour) & again burning pains (“burning like fire”, better for heat).
Aur-ar? As a specific for MSRA per se? Tenuous, but intriguing. Sometimes one does have specific remedies in contagion, where the disease has a stronger pattern than the individual, and that could apply here I suppose. I wouldn’t want people to be disappointed from using it where it isn’t well-indicated.
How does Dr. Ramakrishnan justify his insight?
Reproducible clinical observation.
What is the protocol for ant-c to root out staph? I have been have recurring breakouts of staph since 2013. It started in my nose and when treated by alopathic topical meds, left my nose and now covers my chin, neck and sometimes migrates to my chest. I’m done with the topical med! I want to root it out.
Joette, it says which products to take and how many times a day, but how many “pellets” do you do each time you take it ?
The outside of the bottle tells you how many pills equal a dose.
Is this the same protocol for MRSA in the sinuses ?
I’ve not used it for such so I have no experience.
I don’t think I’d use Cina in anything but potency and not in tincture form for small birds. Had my chcikens gotten infected, I would have used 30 or 200.
Would this be the same protocol for a regular recurring staph infection and does the treatment vary depending on age? 2 of my younger kids (7 and 3) struggle with recurring staph infections but they aren’t MRSA.
It depends on where the infection is located: skin, throat, etc.
Age does not come in to play.
It is always on the trunk of the body, this time it is mainly on the one knee. A couple of little spots on other areas of the legs.
I have the same question! My 5 year old has reoccurring staph too. His show up on his bottom, leg, and hand (though the bottom has been the most reoccurring placement).
I just went ahead and did the protocol listed seeing as it is pretty close. It is helping tremendously. Hopefully it will help take care of the root of the problem too!
Of course!
what if right now I can only find the arsenicum in 30m how much should I take?
If you’re asking how many pills are equal to a dose, read the directions that are printed on the outside of the bottle. But if your question is how you can compensate for not having the correct potency, I’d say that if you hope to experience what I and others have come to expect, it would behoove you to purchase the potency I describe.
Dear Joette, my son who is 7 years old got scratched to blood at school on his face. Two days after he developed skin infection. One month after he was diagnosed with MRSA and administered two courses of antibiotics which made the bacteria more resistant. Now he has been fighting 3 more than and a half without any results. Which protocol would you advise to administer to him. Thank you.
I can’t advise you on this forum, but if you read the article carefully you’ll likely determine the best choice.
Dear joette. I got one small boil in my scalp in April 2012. I thought it would go away on its own, but that didn’t happen. In due course more than 100 pus filled bumps occured in 8-9 months.. I consulted a dermatologist who gave me antibiotics and t- bact (mupirocin) for topical use. It went away and again resurfaced after some days. Since then it has been happening till date. I used t- bact for about 2 years continuosly but it never went away completely.
Symptoms are – one day in hair root redness occurs, then swelling and the next day yellow pus forms. It then goes away in 2-3 days and another forms in nearby hair root. Since 2015 january it spread around lips, chin, nose, eye brows also.
After recent outbreak i got my Pus culture done and found it is Staphlococcus Aureas. I was prescribed Linzolid antibiotics from 1st july to 9th july,2017. Simultaneouly i started taking Aurum arsenicum 6 after reading your paper. In last 18 day there is no recurrence of pustules while previously it used to happen within 7 days. I am 39 yrs old, weight 75 kg, height-171 cm. Frequently sweat in scalp, especially forehead area. Prefer spicy food, chillies rather than sweets. Have cervical (pain radiating to left hand little finger) and lower back pains in left half side of body.
Though pus formation has stopped, but redness and swelling is still there in scalp and face in form of 5 -6 small bumps.
Plz prescribe further how long should i continue with aurum arsenicum 6.
Regards
I’m sorry, but I don’t prescribe here, I teach.
I used your first protocol Joette and my cyst shrunk until about 10-15% left after 8 weeks. I recall you saying Joette that once it gets to this stage, let your body finish off the healing on its own so i stopped the remedy. Also, it was staying the same for at least the last 2 weeks with no change. My cyst flared up again after about 3 weeks after stopping the remedy and I have put myself back on the remedy and it has been about 5 days now with no improvement but not getting worse. Should I continue with the remedy or change to Aur arsin 6? OHM also has this remedy: Staphylococcus Aur Res MRSA. Should I try that? The cyst is under my arm and I have had it more than 15 years but it had never flared up before. It is not red or sore, only tender when i touch it. Thank you so much!
In homeopathy, for chronic conditions, if the medicine is acting, we stay with it.
I’m hoping that you can help me. I had left maxillary sinus cancer which was radiated. Fortunately, a year later and I’m well. Unfortunately, the radiation damaged my sinus and I’ve had sinus issues since then, including (diagnosed) staph aur. infections in left sinus. I took a 21 day course of antibiotics. It helped immensely. A week later, it returned. Anyhow. I have the option of doing another antibiotic course, but I would like to explore other options as I doubt the course will work long term. I read your suggestions about the use of arsenicum — but can that be used to irrigate the sinuses (neti pot)? Is that safe?
Thanks so much for all you do to help so many! Just wanted to let you know that the link for aurum arsenicum 6 is for arsenicum album.
Thanks for the heads up. I’ll see to it that its changed.
The link has not been corrected yet. But Hanneman Labs has aurum arsenicum. Here is the correct link: https://hahnemannlabs.com/cgi-bin/htmlos.cgi/00426.3.314424179020969147/hahnemannlabs
Is the link Mindy provided in the comments here for Hahneman Labs the *correct* remedy as well, Joette, please? Hahnemanns website reads (and is verified by Hahnemann customer service) as: [QUOTE] “AURUM ARSENICICUM [ GOLD ARSENIATE ]”.[UNQUOTE] Is ‘Arsenicicum’ and ‘Arsenicum’ going to give the same results as eachother, or should we just order Helios ‘Aurum Arsenicum’ as stated in the above article? Hahneman customer service says they are the same, but I feel better asking a Homeopath for direction in this. Can’t find anything online regarding it. I haven’t seen 2 spellings both meaning ‘Arsenicum’, but I definitely don’t know it all by far! Thank you for your help.
Hahnemann Pharmacy is reputable and what they told is correct.
Is this protocol only for MRSA type staph, or for any type of staph infection (non-MRSA) as welll? My son has has a non-MRSA staph infection in his nose.
What exactly does “Hypericum 200 mixed with Arsenicum album 200” mean? Does it mean to give individual doses of those remedies at the same time? Or is there a combination remedy available of the two?
There is a combo made but in order to purchase it from a specific pharmacy in the US you must be a client or student of mine. Otherwise many folks simply put the pills in mouth simultaneously.
What about osteomyletis MRSA? Will these protocols work for a bone infection? Is one protocol better than the other for this?
I have used them for osteomyelitis but not without a couple of other protocols as well.
HS is more specific for soft tissue infections, that may or may not be associated with osteomyelitis.
I was recently diagnosed having MRSA. Is this protocol safe for breastfeeding?
My friend has an inactive skin MRSA. Could you actually still take the protocol when its not active? The problem is that even though its inactive, people won’t treat him because they can’t legally and they don’t want to expose themselves or their patients to a possible exposure because no one knows when it will become active again.
Joette –
Would Hepar sulph 200 one dose EOD/ED be appropriate for an infected hair in the pantyline/groin region that has been made worse by the rubbing of clothing? Would the Arsenicum 200 be advisable, too?
No drainage, pain only with deep palpation, swollen gland near infected hair caused MDs to order clindamycin antibiotic but patient has a known cdiff history caused by past antibiotics & is trying to be avoid any further antibiotics.
Please advise & thank you.
I’m sorry Beth; I don’t offer personal advice on this forum.
Would this protocol work for a staph infection in the lung? I know so little about staph infections, but my brother was recently told that he had it in his lung. This has the doctors perplexed. I am just trying to help.
I’ve not used this group of particular medicines for lung infections, but it would not surprise me if it acted in the respiratory system.
Thank you, Joette
I have a friend who has had MRSA, and says it could flair up if he cuts hiself.
I hope the potencies are 200c and 6x.
Evelyn
My nephew had repeated bouts of cellulitis, another form of staph infection, which had him in lots of pain and hospitalised a few times for intravenous antibiotics. He eventually threw it off when his worried auntie gave him a bottle if aurum arsenicum as gleaned from this article. Thanks, Joette.
So happy to hear. His auntie deserves a medal.
From my understanding…. once you have active MRSA, you are a carrier for life. If this is true, could a person take this remedy (without an active sore) and uproot MRSA from their body?
I don’t know the answer to that.
When taking the protocols how long do you continue them? Thanks!
Until very much better.
I had bacterial infection from a boil below nose. Although 80% headless, still some redness on nose tip and inflammation below nose remains. Tried Dr Banerjee protocol for 10 days. Should I switch to Aurum Arsenicum now ?
Would these protocols apply to cellulitis from staph secondary to a puncture in the foot? Or only if specifically MRSA?
Given today’s legal climate it would be injudicious of me to give you a specific answer to this question. Should you be interested in learning how homeopathy approaches such, you might want to consider my course titled “Antibiotic Alternative”.
When taking the above medicines for MRSA, do you need to choose between the BP: Hepar sulf 200/Hypericum 200+Asr Alb 200 and Dr Ram’s Aur Ars 6, like the article kinda instructs.
OR
Can we take all of them (BP and Dr Ram’s meds, but spaced out separately). The printout reads like we have the option to take them all for MRSA and not choose between the methods.
I am hoping to have a better understanding before helping a friend tomorrow with a diagnosed case of MRSA.
I know you don’t like to pad the results by taking too many meds (which makes me lean towards choosing between the methods and meds), but I also want my friends first experience with homeopathy to be a positive one (which makes me lean towards giving her all of them so the infection is diminished without anymore rounds of antibiotics).
Thank you in advance for clarification of the directions posted in the article and what is on the printout.
In most cases, it’s better to choose one and explain that not unlike conventional meds, it may take a one followed by another.
OHM only offers Aurum Arsenicosum. Is this a spelling variation of Aurum Arsenicum?
yes.
I took Aurum Ars 6 for almost a month and then stopped getting infection boils on my hips. After almost 2 months I got a new boil. Should I continue Aurum Arsenicum again or change it to other homeopathy option you have mentioned..
How long do we need to take the medicines?
Please reply.
Think of it this way: Homeopathy is medicine. When it’s not needed, you don’t take it. When it’s needed, you do.
We love success and look forward to more of the same by following the same method.
Can you please be specific. If the mrsa has returned after 2 months , that means it slew down but did not leave my body completely.so I take it again.
Is aurum ars 6 not a permanent cure. ?
How long after the symptoms gone shoiuld I continue taking it? 2 months, 4 months or 6 months.
A response from you will be appreciated.
I can’t tell you specifically how long you should take medicine. But we halt the use of medicines when the condition is apparently resolved. Should the condition reappear as per symptoms the medicine should be resumed.
When ordering from Helios, there are so many options for each remedy. Which form and size do you use for these and the lyme protocols?
Choose the potency, the pill size, and the bottle size.
Madam, Please help. My 10 yr 6 month old girl child’s urine culture report is showing MRSA. Kindly suggest. I want to mail the report to you.
Hello Calabrese,
Your homeopathy medicine recommendations have treated mrsa for me, when months of allopathic could not help. I have huge trust in your recommendations. Do you believe eve homeopathy can stop hair fall and regrow hair. I am losing hair on my frontal head. Please do reply.
My daughter has MRSA n her nose and will have it forever. She treats it now with a prescription cream. When she stops using it it gets hard for her to breathe. Is there a protocol that is safe to you use longterm/forever?
Have it forever!?
Who would declare such a thing?

They exist.
Hello,
I was so glad to come across this article! My little dog Suzy has developed a MRSI infection on her skin, which is the doggy version of MRSA. She is almost 14, in early stage renal failure (albumin in urine). The 2 antibiotics that can still work are both very harsh on the body.
My question for you is, do you give the Aurum arsenicum by itself as its own protocol, or are you adding it to the Banerji protocol?
thank you,
Lori & Suzy
We generally use one method or another.
I am so incredibly grateful for the information Joette post and shares for free for us to learn. 7 years ago, my son picked up a MRSA infection through a small patch of eczema. We did antibiotics, only because I did not know what else to do. It was during that time that I knew there had to be a better way than the list of side affects from the antibiotics as well as that they contributed to the problem in the first place. God led me to Joette’s website and I have been learning ever since. Though I can’t say I’m prepared for everything, that is my goal. I was however already prepared should MRSA rear itself in my home again. Just a few weeks ago, my son came home from the locker room with what looked like impetigo, as well as a concerning spot that looked eerily similar to MRSA. I treated both. Hepar Sulph 200CK/Ant Crud 6, and also Aurum A 6. Today they are both VERY MUCH BETTER! No anitbiotics. No scary side affects. Prayer, knowledge, and peace. Thank you Joette as well as all who comment. There is so much to learn!
Thank you!
