Joette Says…

Joette says there’s fungus among us and homeopathy can meet the challenge without side effects and at a low cost. The fungus called dermatophytes is a fungus that causes many of the most common skin fungus pathologies. It is responsible for jock itch, ringworm (not from a worm), toenail fungus and athlete’s foot. In finding the homeopathic remedy to address these problems, it depends on the way they present. The remedy should be taken daily in a low potency for about a week. For example Sulphur is best used for when there is an odor associated with the ailment and/or when the rash is worse after taking a warm shower. Tellurium is used when there are red rings on the skin with pustules and present with dry scaly skin. Meanwhile Graphites is a great remedy for thickened skin that has a honey colored discharge. Yes, this is specific and that’s what makes homeopathy so great! It is only useful when it is an exact hit, but oh so powerful. It only takes one episode of one of these skin ailments to be relieved to convince most people of the efficacy of homeopathy. Ban fungus forever with homeopathy.

I am a homeopath with a worldwide practice working with families and individuals via Zoom. I'm also a teacher and most importantly, a mom who raised my now-adult children depending on homeopathy over the last 31 years. I lived decades of my life with food intolerances, allergies, and chemical sensitivities until I was cured with homeopathy, so I understand pain, anxiety, and suffering. You may feel that your issues are more severe or different than anyone else’s, but I have seen it all in my practice and in my work in India. My opinion is that nothing has come close to the reproducible, safe and effective results that my clients, students and I have achieved with homeopathy.

Call today and learn how homeopathy might just be the missing piece in your health strategy.

Homeopathy doesn't "treat" an illness; it addresses the entire person as a matter of wholeness that is an educational process, not a medical one. Joette believes that the advice and diagnosis of a physician is often in order.

    where can one get Tellurium?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

Try Amazon. If not there, contact Washington Homeopathics in W. Virginia or Hahnemann Laboratories in CA.

  2. Lanie says:

When ordering homeopath remedies do they have directions of use on the bottle? We are needing to purchase Tellurium but not sure of dosage.
    Thank you.

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

The number of pills is printed on the side of the bottle, but the frequency of use is dependent on the condition.

  3. Lanie says:

How do I find out how much to give?
I was planning on ordering from Wash. Homopathics, that you mentioned above. Would I contact them for frequency?
    Thank you!

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

They won’t offer you frequencies because that would mean they’d be taking your case. However, I often write on this blog about how often a remedy is to be used based on the condition.

  4. Lanie says:

    Thank you!
    Searching the blog….

  5. Kim says:

I’m a student of yours in GGBG and recently took tellurium in hopes to clear ringworm that I contracted 15 years ago from petting a stray dog. Those were darker days and of course I chased it away (or deep inside rather) with anti-fungals.

now have brown, circular, dry/scaly patches on my skin and it’s very itchy. I’m hoping that this reaction is the tellurium chasing the ringworm out, does this sound accurate or even possible?? Homeopathy is so exciting…!

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

Step back and see if there is overall improvement. then its moved in the right way. if the itching is really bothersome, you can consider adding one of the medicines for itchiness from the course such as Ant crud or Arsenicum.

  6. Kim says:

Thanks Joette. They seem to be improving, but the brown patches are still there. And I have that “sepia” colored skin, and had also been taking sepia for headaches (which are much better!)

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

‘Happy to hear but not surprised.

  7. Christa says:

    Joette,

When long-term toenail fungus presents with the main symptom being very thickened toenails that are hard to clip, would that also be treated with Graphites, which you mention above for thickened skin? Or would something else be better, since the other two mentioned remedies seem less applicable to the symptoms?

    Thank you!

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

Yes, these characteristics are often used to determine that the remedy that most closely fits is Graphites.

  8. Kristy says:

I have had fingernail fungus for about 18 years…Sometimes it will seem to be getting better but it never really completely disappears. I used to wear nail polish to cover it up but haven’t for years now. The way it manifests for me is yellow, thick, the nail pulls away from the nail-bed, there is lots of dry, scaley, flakey skin around it, and an odor. Sometimes it is even painful. Especially if I accidentally get caught on something and it pulls the nail away from the nail bed even more!! OUCH!! So it sounds like a combination of what is listed above… I just started the 8 week course, so don’t yet know what I can do to eliminate this once and for all. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

  9. Burdened says:

Hello, just wondering about what is the best remedy for athletes foot when it’s between the last 3 toes, fire burning itch, and wet, red & weepy? Should it be taken one a day for week? Thank you kindly

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

I’ve not written on the subject on this blog. Should you be interested in specifics, feel free to look at my course, “Skin; the Ugly Truth”.

  10. Burdened says:

Worse after eating sugar, thank you

  11. Meg says:

Joette, is Tinea Versicolor covered in your skin course or GG, BG? The symptoms seems to match Tellurium, but the fungal type is different. Does that necessarily matter?

  12. Meg says:

Joette, is Tinea Versicolor coveted in your skin course or GG, BG? Tellurium seems to be a good match for the symptoms but I believe the fungal type is different. Does this matter?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

Yes, its covered in the Skin course.

I’m not sure I understand your question.

      1. Meg says:

Sorry–I’m referencing the fungal type you initially referenced above in the article (dermatophytes). If Tinea Versicolor is of a different fungal type, though symptoms are similar to the Tellurium remedy, am I correct that the symptoms would be more important to focus on rather than just the fungal type? I’m trying to piece together all I’ve learned from you so far and making sure I’m on the right track, though I know there are exceptions here and there.

Looking forward to taking the Skin course in the near future after 18 years of dealing with TV and the “incurable” title that came along with it!

        1. Briana says:

Did you ever solve your issue with this? My husband has had it for so long and I’m just beginning to research treating with homeopathy. There are so many remedies to comb through.

  13. Neha says:

Hi mam.. chronic post inflammatory hyperpigmentation – tinea cruris .pls suggest medicine.

  14. Suzi says:

You mention Graphites as a remedy for thickened toenails. Is there a potency and frequency you would recommend?

  15. Julia says:

This morning I woke up and looked at my toes. I’ve had toe nail fungus for many years. What has Joette have to say about this I wondered. I googled her and condition. I read article and replies. Then I watched the short YouTube video (which is so wonderfully created btw) and it brought me to tears. And the tears are actually tears of joy. The tears I get when I see acts of Good Samaritans. Or when something seems wrong and then something right appears and I know it in my heart. Joette gifts of teaching and all her experiences are such answers to my prayers. I feel I can now heal my 20 year old son too – if only he will take me seriously. This is a whole other challenge. Perhaps I show him the video and say a prayer while he views it. Even though his issues are respitory and sinus related. I can’t stop thanking you joette. I’m complelled to keep telling you!

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

You are very kind, Julia, but I’m just passing along what I have learned so that you can pass it along to your son, and someday, his wife and children and so on.

    2. Cheryl Lambert says:

Jan. 1, 2020 Unable to locate anything from Joette on Google re toenail fungus and could not locate a youtube video either. Would be nice if the link could be posted to both the article and video. Please send to my email: lemonhead54@gmail.com Husband is getting ready to make appointment with a podiatrist and I’d rather treat him homeopathically. Thank you.

  16. Emily says:

Is a “low dose” considered to be 200 or is it 6? I am still confused about that part. Thanks!

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

6 is low and high is above 200.

  17. vic says:

i have had fungal trouble for 8 years, feet and crotch, should i take a higher dosage?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

I find that lower potency is more effective for many kinds of fungus.

  18. Nancy says:

Wow! I think I may need Sulphur, Graphites, and possibly Tellurium, too. From what I’ve been reading, it seems like it might be okay to take more than one of these remedies at a time, is that correct?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

We generally don’t use more than one medicine at a time for the same condition.

      1. Nancy says:

        Okay; bless you!

  19. Angela Gage says:

Having trouble figuring out ringworm on the scalp. Tinea capitis. It is little bald patches, thick, skin colored, and sort of rough feeling. It doesn’t ooze anything though. Help?

  20. Betsy says:

Hat if it’s just very pink with sores from biting……this is an issue I have with my dog….an energy healer told me it’s a fungal infection……but the three descriptions above don’t match her issue

  21. Jessie says:

My husband has terrible ringworm in the crotch area. He’s miserable. He’s had it off and on for last two years but it’s been really bad last 6 months. I have him started on Hep Sul 2x a day. Is that enough? I’m not sure that’s the best protocol. Maybe should try Mercurius solubilis 200C?

I’m taking your family coarse and have learned SO MUCH!

    1. Kim says:

I read it mentioned smaller strengths for fungus work better?

  22. Dawn Schmitt says:

Tinea Versicolor – my sons has been chronic for 2 years (hes 14). docs wanted selsum blue and steriod (I refuse). Your Skinderella lists 2 mixed potencies for Fungul, but this article doesn’t mention either of those remedys. Can you tell me what remedy and potency you recommend specifically for this? thanks!

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

I cover T.V. including potency, frequency, and case management in my course titled “Skin the Ugly Truth”.

      1. Jessica Graham says:

Hi Joette, do you happen to cover this in your gateway classes? I can’t afford to do the more expensive classes and my son is struggling with TV as well.

        1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH says:

I don’t necessarily offer specific protocols in the Gateway Study Groups but you’ll learn ways to find out answers and rub shoulders with other women of like minds.

  23. Melissa says:

Have you ever treated disseminated histoplasmosis? My husband presented with pulmonary nodules which are gone from his Rx, but it is a very long treatment plan and I would like to switch to homeopathy.

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH says:

Generally, we don’t treat the kind of microorganism. Instead, we use the symptoms that present to determine the medicine. And yes, I’ve had cases of such.

  24. Sandy says:

I’m taking a Banerji protocol for Tinnitis that calls for Conium Maculatum 3c 2/D and Tellurium e3D. However, my ringworm and toenail fungus are getting worse. Should I increase the frquency of the Tellurium 200C to go after the ringworm and toenail fungus?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH says:

I teach that when a condition worsens while the original condition doesn’t improve, the medicine should be halted.

      1. Sandy Miller says:

The protocol says it will take a couple of months to complete and I’ve only been taking it a couple of weeks. In the second section of your GGBG course, which I just started, you mention there could be aggravations. How can I distinguish between a remedy really not working, a proving, and an aggravtion?

  25. Olena T. says:

Thank you so much for this, Joette!
A follow up question: would Tellurium also help with toenail fungus that presents with eroding toenails (i.e. half a toenail is just gone) and dry itchy skin around them? Or, is there a better remedy for this?
    Thank you very much!
    Olena

  26. Sarah Baum says:

Thank you so much for your blog and your podcasts I gained so much from them. I really enjoyed our gateway 1 course and look forward to taking more courses.
Is the Banerji protocol for Athletes foot Graphites 200 every 3rd day or is it Graphites 6 taken once a day?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH says:

These are 2 different protocols, not that one is correct and the other is not.

      1. Sarah says:

Are both of them Banerji protocols?
Is the lower potency the better choice?

        1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH says:

I always give full credit to the Banerjis when it’s indeed their protocol.

        2. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH says:

I didn’t offer potencies for these. Instead my intention here was to offer suggestions on what to consider. For specifics, you will find more on the blog and if you want to know each of them you might consider checking your materia medical or my online course titled “Skin; the Ugly Truth”.

  27. Leah says:

    Hi!
Thank you so much for your blog, it is a big help. I gave my husband (for toenail fungus) graphites in 12 potency because thats what we had. I don’t see improvement. Should I try graphites 6, or try a different remedy?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH says:

This condition takes a very long time to resolve.

  28. my left toenail has stopped growing since about 1.5 months ago and all around it on the skin is painful- more so at night or if pressed on.
not sure what this is, any ideas I am do confused!
I love your blog, you are so generous and amazing!!

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH says:

Thank you for your kind words.
I don’t diagnose but if you look around online for such symptoms (check out ingrown toenails) or seek a diagnosis from a healthcare practitioner. From there, you can tend to it homeopathically with that information.

      1. ok great thank you for replying so quickly .

        1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH says:

          Good luck.

  29. Anna says:

Thank you for all your helpful, and fun to read blogs! After reading and researching the blogs related to fungal conditions, I decided to try the remedies mentioned in Fungus Among Us, and Here and Itch, for a solution to toenail fungus. I have had this condition for 13 years on my toenails and the palms of my feet. I take a dose of Arsenicum Album 200c and Antimonium Crudum 6 in a 2oz. cup of water, and take a sip 3 times a day. After 1 month my healthy nail is growing out, and the redness, inflammation, pain, itching, and malformed nail and cuticle are ALL resolving. I have tried many, many ways to heal this condition, and this is working wonderfully! I am so grateful to God for this!

    1. Andrea says:

Thank you for this post! I will try that for my fungal toenail. I am wondering, though, if Graphite was one of the remedies that did not work?

  30. Asia says:

    Hi Joette,
I believe I have a fungal infection on my eyelids. I believe sulphur is the right choice, but maybe tellurium. I’m a breastfeeding mama, are these safe to take while breastfeeding?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH says:

I urge you to deepen your knowledge of homeopathy. With knowledge comes confidence. Should you be interested, you might want to join one of my study groups titled Gateway to Homeopathy, where you’ll learn the answers to these kinds of questions and many, many more.

You can find it here https://studygroups.joettecalabrese.com/

  31. Christine says:

Hello, I’m very confused by the dosage 200ck. I have heard you say in the Cool Kids class that it can be used interchangeably with 200 c. But Boiron says that it is closer to 30 c in potency. So, I hesitate to be assured that it is on the same potency level as 200c. What should I believe?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, PHom M says:

Boiron states that 200CK is closer to 30c than 200c? I’d be interested in knowing where this is stated.
Meanwhile, I indeed use CK interchangeably with C.

  32. Christine says:

Thank you so much! If you use it interchangeably, that’s good enough for me!

This was the email I received back from them when I asked the question. Maybe I just misinterpreted what they meant.

    Hi Christine,

No 200CK is a medium dilution and 200C is a high dilution. The highest dilution we offer on the C dilution scale is 30C. 30C is a higher dilution that 200CK.

    Thank you.
