Holiday Travel? Call AAA!

Fear of Flying

The holidays are almost upon us, a time when many of us travel to visit family and friends. Travel is so important right now that even those who fear flying are willing to try whatever it takes to be able to get on that plane — hopefully, without causing a scene at the airport!

There are certainly many tips and tricks for overcoming travel anxiety, but homeopathy has a remedy! What more do you need?

Years ago, when I was first studying homeopathy, my teacher (who had studied in England) taught us to be strict with our classical training — only use one remedy at a time.

However, she taught us a combination of three remedies that could be taken together. During that time, I was under the impression this was the only exception to the rule. (My, how my thinking has changed!)

This combination was specifically used for anxiety in air travel: fear of heights, fear of flying or fear of being closed up in the small confines of a plane. It can be used for other anxieties as well, but it most precisely suits the fears that one generally associates with air travel.

My teacher instructed that these three remedies were to be taken simultaneously (mixed together):

Ambra grisea 30
Anacardium 30
Argentum nitricum 30

Now, fast forward to a few months ago:

A client of mine from England mentioned to me that she was afraid of flying. So, I told her about those three remedies. She said, “Oh my gosh, I forgot all about it! That’s called Triple-A!”

What??

Yes. Turns out that years ago, a pharmacy in England came up with a prepared combination of those remedies to sell over-the-counter and called it AAA.

You can easily buy that combination of remedies as a commercial product from many pharmacies and grocery stores in England. (We in the United States can order it from Helios in England at this link: AAA.)

Isn’t that an easy remedy name to remember? Many of us in the United States already associate that very same acronym with travel — the American Automobile Association. Now we have one more reason to turn to AAA when we travel.

As soon as that angst about upcoming travel appears (even if it is a few days before the trip), AAA is taken twice a day. On the day of travel, as anxiety mounts, it is used as often as every three hours — stopping, of course, when the anxiety is no longer a concern and resumed as needed.

So, rest assured, if you are traveling this week for Christmas or New Years, homeopathy will be there to bolster you as you board your flight. AAA to the rescue.

Warmly,

P.S. This Christmas, consider giving the gift of homeopathy to someone you love. You’ll be providing for your loved ones’ health and well-being. Whether it be a study group guide, a materia medica, remedy kit, educational book or CD, or a particular course they are interested in, your gift could be the most practical gift they receive.

I am a homeopath with a worldwide practice working with families and individuals via Zoom. I'm also a teacher and most importantly, a mom who raised my now-adult children depending on homeopathy over the last 31 years. I lived decades of my life with food intolerances, allergies, and chemical sensitivities until I was cured with homeopathy, so I understand pain, anxiety, and suffering. You may feel that your issues are more severe or different than anyone else’s, but I have seen it all in my practice and in my work in India. My opinion is that nothing has come close to the reproducible, safe and effective results that my clients, students and I have achieved with homeopathy.

Call today and learn how homeopathy might just be the missing piece in your health strategy.

Homeopathy doesn't "treat" an illness; it addresses the entire person as a matter of wholeness that is an educational process, not a medical one. 1. Tonya F Wolfe says:

Can this remedy be used for all kinds of anxiety? People who have anxiety attacks?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

I have written about garden-variety anxiety on this blog. Use the search bar to find the article. Having said this, this protocol may be just the ticket for ordinary anxiety for some.

  2. Sheena says:

Would this be used when someone is fine in an aisle seat but has a panic attack in a middle or window seat?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

If this is how the anxiety presents in someone who is flying, I’d say it fits. However, if this happens in church, I might consider another remedy.

  3. Mary F says:

Wonderful note! Thank you for sharing and have a most blessed Christmas.

  4. Meredith says:

Can I use this protocol for anxiety and claustrophobia with an MRI?
I have it coming up next week to look for an aneurysm after having a strange ‘brain event’ last month.
My mom had a ruptured familial aneurysm. I will be laying there for an hour. No moving.
Have a lovely Christmas! Thank you for this post and all the others.

AAA may indeed be useful. If you decide to use it, pls report back and share your experience.

“Awful feeling in the head” is not quite enough information. Is it angst? Then yes. Is it pressure in the sinuses? Then no.

  5. Joy Killeen says:

Thanks so much Joette, I have a fear of flying, turbulence makes me anxious. I have taken valium in the past, but would rather not knowing what I know now.

  6. Kim says:

Thank you, Joette, for such a timely post! My 81 year old mother (who has to take a flight soon) dreads flying because she says she gets an awful feeling in her head upon the plane’s descent. This isn’t exactly the type of fear you’ve described, would AAA still be useful?…..or do these remedies not quite apply in this case.

  7. Meredith says:

How wonderful! I just looked at OHM and they have this as a mix already!

  8. Melissa Martin says:

I can’t tell you how excited i am to try. I haven’t flown in 10 years. When i go to the site you recommend to buy this (Helios) i get lost on size, what form. I know 30c but can you help with the rest?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

What form do you want? What size a bottle do you want? That’s what they’re asking you.

  9. Melissa Martin says:

I’ve only used the little white balls so I’m not familiar with tablets, liquid. So would those be called granules?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

They all work equally, so it matters not the size or shape.

  10. Mat says:

Is this AAA useful even for a dog with tremendous fear of going to a car for traveling?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

Quite possibly. Let me know how it works.

  11. Melissa says:

May I use this with my 5.5 year old daughter? If so – what would the dosing be? Thank you.

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

I use and have used homeopathy on newborns, children, teens, adults, the aged, pregnant women, animals, etc. Homeopathy is used for all ages and creatures. The number of pills is printed on the outside of the bottle.

  12. marita says:

Ok, thank you again! I tried with Aconitum with no results.

  13. Norma Starr says:

This is unrelated to this post but I was wondering if you can clear up a remedy name for me. In several articles you list Aurum Arsenicum for different things but all I can find on OHM is Aurum Arsenicosum. Is this the same thing?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

They are one in the same.

  14. Yesterday my daughter was dreading a 3 hour drive with her 9 week old baby who screams and is very agitated during all car journeys any longer than 5 minutes. We found this blog post and only had 2 of the three remedies, so gave him Anacardium 30C and Argent Nit 30C just as he was put into the car. My daughter called me 2.5 hours later and said with great delight “The remedies worked!” He was happily awake and she’d even heard some giggles, and he’d slept for about 40 minutes of the journey. She was VERY excited and grateful. Thank you Joette!
