Break out of your Allergies Prison with Homeopathy

Did I ever tell you about my time in prison, and how I broke out?

See, I had this spoon …

Just kidding!

I’m talking about the prison that my chronic allergies created for me. When I was a little girl (and later as a young woman), my allergies were so severe they forced me to stay indoors …

… eat a super restrictive diet and basically avoid the outside world that consisted of other people’s perfumes, neighbors’ scented dryer sheets…

… meals at friends’ homes, countless restaurants, civic meetings, new car smells, pesticides, etc. It seemed the more drugs the doctors prescribed, the more imprisoned I became.

It seemed the more drugs the doctors prescribed, the more imprisoned I became.

That is, until the day I broke free from my own prison.

It didn’t involve digging a tunnel with a spoon (although I probably would have tried to if I thought it would have helped release me!)

Instead, I found a skilled homeopath whose treatment brought me back into the land of the living.

I would love for you to learn how to uproot your allergies at the source, too — and I’ll get to that in a bit.

But I do understand that sometimes you just need a quick SOS to relieve emergent attacks that show up during allergy season.

Let me introduce you to a handful of single medicines for certain allergy reactions that show up. (I realize that allergies cause a lot more than what I cover here, but it's a good start for many.)

Check these out:

Allium cepa 30C

Allium cepa is red onion. An easy way to remember what this remedy addresses is to think of the symptoms experienced when you cut an onion: a runny, burning nose with a watery discharge and spasmodic sneezing.

Apis mellifica 30C

Grab the Apis mellifica (honey bee) if you’re experiencing painful, stinging nasal congestion that improves when you breathe in cold air. Allergies can cause inflammation that can block the airflow within your nasal passages and make breathing difficult. Apis mellifica can relieve this inflammation. And that’s important because let’s face it — breathing is good!

Galphimia glauca 6C

Hay fever can so often cause sneezing fits. Have Galphimia glauca on hand for its help with this type of sneezing, and for its overall positive effect on hay fever in general.

Histaminum hydrochloricum 30C

Histamine is released in your body as a reaction to allergies. Rather than reach for an antihistamine like Benadryl (which can bring on unnecessary side effects), keep Histaminum hydrochloricum in your homeopathy kit. Then the next time you experience symptoms such as hay fever, hives or a reaction to an insect bite, you’ll be ready to combat them — safely.

Hydrastis canadensis 6C

Know someone who snores because of an allergic post-nasal drip? Are you considering holding a pillow over his head? Don't do it! Instead, try Hydrastis canadensis (goldenseal). It’s also a great remedy even if you or your loved ones don’t snore, especially if you notice a thick yellow nasal discharge.

Keep these remedies on hand to treat yourself or your family, as needed.

If you buy any of these remedies directly from Boiron, you’ll save 20% on your purchase by using the code “Joette” during checkout.

This information is also contained in a YouTube video you might also enjoy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C4MVrvfZ7qM

I’d love to see you completely break out of your allergy prison like I did, rather than just treating your allergies when they become symptomatic.

Homeopathy is vast, and like I always say, there is more than one way to skin a cat (even a furry, dander-laden one)!

To that end, I have distilled my 23 years of clinical experience related to gut, diet, allergic states and homeopathy into a course designed to share practical protocols for uprooting allergies.

Remember: I don’t teach how to treat symptoms, I teach how to correct them over a period of many months.

That course is Allergic?! I taught it live the first year, and now it’s available for those who missed out on this jam-packed class.

In Allergic?!, you will learn clear, easy-to-follow protocols that will teach you how to correct allergies in both acute and chronic situations.

If you want to learn how to escape the prison of your allergies, chemical sensitivities, food intolerances and even the weird feelings an allergic state can cause, this course is for you!

If you’re new to homeopathy, this is an excellent place to start. If you’ve taken any of my other courses, then Allergic?! will tie together everything you’ve already learned.

Warmly,

I am a homeopath with a worldwide practice working with families and individuals via Zoom. I'm also a teacher and most importantly, a mom who raised my now-adult children depending on homeopathy over the last 31 years. I lived decades of my life with food intolerances, allergies, and chemical sensitivities until I was cured with homeopathy, so I understand pain, anxiety, and suffering. You may feel that your issues are more severe or different than anyone else’s, but I have seen it all in my practice and in my work in India. My opinion is that nothing has come close to the reproducible, safe and effective results that my clients, students and I have achieved with homeopathy.

Call today and learn how homeopathy might just be the missing piece in your health strategy.

After taking the Allergic class last fall I started a protocol to uproot the allergies I suffered from year round for 13 years. I am excited to report that it only took a couple of months to see results! Now I can add back so many foods that caused endless sneezing and occasional wheezing. Thanks, Joette!

  2. Amy G. says:

Good morning – On the “Allergic” Q & A podcast, i think you mention that you write a newspaper column. Is that available to be read online? If so, would you please repeat the name of it? Thanks!

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

I author a column in the Weston Price Foundation’s quarterly journal, that can be found on my site under the word “Community”. I hope you find it helpful.

      1. Amy G. says:

Oh, I see, I guess I misunderstood. Thanks, yes, that column is helpful!

  3. barb says:

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

CC1M is used more for an underlying condition of allergies and immunity.

  4. Sheena says:

Can Galphimia glauca 30C be used instead of 6C?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

I only have experience with it in 6c and find it works every time as long as it fits the symptoms. However, 30 will likely do the trick as well.

  5. Lauren says:

I have had a lot of success with Galph 30! Are there any Inimicals or antidotes to it? I’ve searched and been unable to find this info. I understand it doesn’t really matter with BPs but when considering symptoms in a more classical manner.

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

You have the nomenclature down and you’re using classical. Do you not own R. Gibson Miller’s Relationship of Remedies with Duration and Action table?

If you’re using classical, you ought to own it.

  6. Lauren says:

No, I don’t own it. Thank you! I tried to stick to BPs when I can, but sometimes when I’m adding something in or looking for something additional, I want to make sure it doesn’t have issues(especially while I’m learning). I typically look at material medica, or a couple sites online I found that have charts. Thank you so much! You’re such a blessing Joette and God is using you to bring healing and confidence into so many lives!

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

Many thanks for your kind words.

  7. Lauren says:

Also I was on a recent call with you in my study group, and we all walked away so encouraged and excited. Thank you for personally connecting with your students even amidst your crazy schedule! Also so excited about your material medica!

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

I love meeting with the study groups and I remember yours…it was a particularly enjoyable group. My best to all of you.

  8. parker says:

Joette, I have Mast cell activation disorder. Stomach biopsy showed 100 mast cells per high definition slide (should be less than 8 or none). Will I benefit from the course “allergic” or good gut bad gut?

    thanks

    1. Mary Tetzloff says:

what did you decide between GGBG and Allergic?

  9. parker says:

Hi, Can someone recommend a remedy for my 4 yr old sons sudden whole body hives? They came on suddenly last night and it is covering his entire body. he also has a low grade fever, 99.9. I have given him 2 doses of Urtica Urens 30 c thus far. I have the 100 remedy kit.

  10. Julie says:

Joette, in a earlier blog on allergies (holy hay fever), galphimia 30 was suggested. I would like to know which strength is best to use. Thank you for all the amazing information. Our study group meets for the first time tonight. I am very excited!

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

Both potencies are good. Choose one and stick with it for a while so that you know.

Yes! ‘Looking forward to meeting your group tonight!

  11. zarine sajjad says:

Hi Joette…I would like to know if I can try homeopathic remedies on my 52 year old husband who has type 2 diabetes and is on medication…are there any restrictions that diabetic patients should not use all or certain homeopathic medications ? For eg can I give him Aconite200 and Bryonia 30 for cold ? Thank you in advance.

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

We use homeopathic medicines alongside conventional drugs on a regular basis.

  12. Sonia says:

I get lots of bad smelling gas after eating tofu or avocados. someone said I am allergic to Histamines. I have lots of symptoms. dripping of nose, gastro, skin, ect.
Would a Histamine allergy be covered in the Allergy course? or is there any remedy that is used for food intolerances that is specific for histamines?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH says:

I fully cover allergies but a histamine allergy? That’s an odd way to describe an allergy. Histamine is not what people are allergic to, it’s the inflammatory response.

  13. Lor says:

HI Ms. Joette! What would you recommend for Mast Cell disorder where there is STRONG sensitivity to EMf, light & sound. Putting hair in a bun hurts. Chemical or smoke smells deter me. When wakeup in the morning theres a feeling of getting no sleep. Also for agoraphobia. Thank you for your time and hope to hear from you soon.

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH says:

This needs a little more than “take this for that”. If you’re not a member of one of my study groups, Gateway to Homeopathy, you might want to join. That’s where you’ll find information that will be useful to you for a lifetime.
Additionally, I offer an online course titled “Toxic” that covers situations such as this.

  14. Chris Sakalis says:

Please is there something for peanuts allergy? My babygirl 1 year has, I’m the grandfather!

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH says:

Yes! For simple conditions, I teach how to use protocols and homeopathic philosophy here on this blog but for more complex conditions (but by no means irreversible) it takes a bit of effort to learn the strategy. I teach this fully in my online course titled “Allergic!” found here

  15. Karen Walcott says:

Hi Joette. I have mcas and histamine intolerance. I have a very small list of foods I can eat now that don’t cause intense bloating, heartburn, fatigue, itching, insomnia, vertigo, migraines etc. I’m having a very tough time with this. Any thing that you can suggest?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH says:

I strongly urge you to take this on yourself and get into my online, self-learning class titled Good GUt Bad GUt.
go here and scroll down to the course title.
      https://courses.joettecalabrese.com/
I cover pretty much e. thing you mention here with corresponding protocols, etc.

  16. Hubert says:

I experienced Apis 30C very helpful for my congested nose. Is it recomendable to take it together with Calcarea Carbonicum M1?

    1. Hubert says:

Joette, it would be a great help, if you could answer if Calc M1 works with Apis.

      1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH says:

I’m not sure what you mean by work with each other.

        1. Hubert says:

Sorry, my English is probably too bad. You recommend for example ars 5 to combine with calc M1. I’d like to know if Calc Supports the Action of apis or if it is may be rather like an antidote?

          1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH says:

Calc carb 1M e 7 days is like an undergirding, while Apis if used only as needed, will not antidote.

  17. Mary Claire Hayes says:

My daughter has food allergies (related to pollens) that results in her esophagus swelling making it hard to swallow food. She has Histaminum 30 on hand and it usually works in just minutes to bring swelling down. However today, she had a particularly strong reaction and it took a few hours for her esophagus to go back to normal despite repeated dosing of the Hist 30. Should she try a higher potency of Hist for future incidents like this?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH says:

I urge folks with allergies, particularly those that are serious to delve into my online course titled, “Allergic”. Go to Joette’s Learning Center to find out more.

  18. Mary Claire Hayes says:

Thanks, Joette, I’m pretty new to all this. I ordered Gateway I and am organizing a Study group with my neighbors and family starting in Jan. Eventually, I hope I can do the Allergic course. But i thought I should do Gateway first.

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH says:

      You bet!
Start there and if you love doing that, do it again! Then again and again and charge for it and not only will you learn a ton by teaching (the teacher learns more than the student) but you can make tidy little sum each time.

      1. Mary Claire Hayes says:

Is Oral Allergy Syndrome addressed in the Allergic Course? That is what my daughter’s allergist diagnosed her with.

        1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH says:

          Yes.

  19. Mary Claire Hayes says:

Is Oral Allergy Syndrome addressed in the Allergic Course? That is what my daughter’s allergist diagnosed her with.
