“Devil” Kitty?

How could a fluffy, sweet little kitten ruin your life? Well, if you have allergies, you know exactly how! Itchy eyes, roof-of-your-mouth irritation and a constant runny nose — it can be Hell on Earth!

While some people seem to be allergic to everything from day one, many find that they are “newly allergic” to all kinds of agitators. You may have very well had your own beloved cat growing up that didn’t bother you a bit but now find when you bring a new one home: WHAM!

Poor kitty. Poor family.

But wait. We have homeopathy!

My clients often ask, “Why did such new allergies crop up in the first place?” If you’ve read my blog for ANY length of time, you know that it often has to do with your gut. The use of drugs like antibiotics modify (what a euphemism!) the beneficial flora in your gut in some very permanent ways.

Unfortunately, the list of gut-altering drugs doesn’t end with antibiotics. Steroids, over-the-counter (OTC) medications, birth control drugs, widespread use of bacteria-killing cleaners, chlorinated drinking water, pesticide and herbicide use (and countless others) all contribute to this cumbersome condition.

If you’re like me, there is no way you’ve remained free of these. Really, nobody has. While I haven’t taken one of these “medicines” (and have done my best to avoid the rest) in decades, I have a past riddled with the consumption and exposure to some of these drugs and chemicals.

Thankfully, there are homeopathic medicines that can help. Lately, in an effort to bring essential oils users into the fold of homeopathy, I have shared some protocols you can use alongside homeopathy. I give you some of them, paired up with homeopathy treats, today:

  • Lavender and Lemon essential oils, taken as an olfactory dose, can help with sinus-related symptoms due to allergies.
  • For itchy skin, apply some Roman Chamomile topically (be sure to dilute this with coconut oil.)
  • Homeopathically, I utilize the Banerji Protocol of employing Antimonium crud 6 (Apply the discount coupon code “Joette” at check-out for an additional 20% off!) mixed with Arsenicum album 6, twice daily for itchy skin.

Notice I have left out essential oils that may antidote, such as peppermint and eucalyptus. Learn more about anti-doting with essential oils here: https://joettecalabrese.com/blog/essential-oils-i-used-during-birth-and-the-homeopathic-remedies-i-wish-id-had/

Finally, be sure to PUT DOWN that Benadryl. Any sort of OTC allergy medication will drive the illness deeper and cause more problems in the long run.

How, you ask?

I wish I could explain it all in one article. If you want a more in-depth understanding of how allergy medications drive illness deeper and/or to learn more about how you can use homeopathy to uproot ALL of your family’s allergies, chemical sensitivities and other bothersome intolerances (and not just the ones relating to your precious, fluffy, “devil-some” kitty,) I invite you to join our Founder’s List, which allows you to be the FIRST to know about my upcoming course on allergies.

If you’ve taken my Good Gut, Bad Gut online course, you know that I have addressed intolerances and some allergies there, but my new course takes it to the next level! We hope to launch this class very soon, so keep your eyes peeled for its official announcement.

Until then, look to homeopathy for when your kitty problems aren't cute.

If you have allergies, remember that modern medicine has written you off. The CDC itself will tell you: “There is no cure for allergies. Strict avoidance of the allergen is the only way to prevent a reaction.” I lived decades living in a bubble, dealing with my allergies. Things improved when I stopped taking prescription drugs and changed my diet, but I was not cured. So I kept searching until I found the thing that changed my life forever: homeopathy. Want to learn the same homeopathic steps I took to clear myself of allergies? Learn them today with my newest course: Allergic: http://allergies.joettecalabrese.com/allergic/ and download a free infographic, and start learning what remedies could help uproot your allergies.

I am a homeopath with a worldwide practice working with families and individuals via Zoom. I'm also a teacher and most importantly, a mom who raised my now-adult children depending on homeopathy over the last 31 years. I lived decades of my life with food intolerances, allergies, and chemical sensitivities until I was cured with homeopathy, so I understand pain, anxiety, and suffering. You may feel that your issues are more severe or different than anyone else’s, but I have seen it all in my practice and in my work in India. My opinion is that nothing has come close to the reproducible, safe and effective results that my clients, students and I have achieved with homeopathy.

Call today and learn how homeopathy might just be the missing piece in your health strategy.

Helpful information. Is there anything homeopathic to help with the symptoms (sneezing, itchy eyes, etc.) while one is working on the underlying causes? Going to visit my brother (and his cat) soon.

  2. Mary says:

I know several people who used to get congested the minute they walked into a cat’s and/or dog’s domain (whether they’d known a pet was in residence or not) who were immensely helped by Dulcamara: swelling, congestion, watery eyes, sneezing (to the point one almost drove off the road at the power of the sneeze). Helpful at the moment and nearly no reaction years and years later meaning that they no longer need the remedy. God bless homeopathy!

  3. MC says:

Thank you for the information. Is it Sanguinaria Canadensis or Nitrica?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

      SC. ‘Hope it helps.

      1. Jackie says:

Thanks for another great post! We love Sanguinaria for acute sinus related issues, and I’ve been wondering lately if it would be beneficial for chronic stuffiness, even if the cause is not clear (possible food sensitivity)?

        1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

          Most certainly!

  4. CS says:

Would the BP help with a dog who is very itchy? He is given Benadryl every day.

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

Homeopathy works equally well on dogs.

  5. Kingston says:

Hi Joette if I have arscen and antimon 30X would this suffice instead of 6? Or is the number an important factor? Also is 200x the same as 200? Is there a difference in X and C with homeopaths? Will the antinomium and arscenium help with the itchy roof of mouth and eye symptoms as well? Thank you! Looking forward to the allergy class!

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

If you expect to enjoy the results I discuss, its best to use the potencies I suggest.
200 can be either x or c and are often interchangeable. THere is a difference and x and c but often not as important as you might think.

    2. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

If you expect to enjoy the results I discuss, its best to use the potencies I suggest. Its quite possible that they will help with itchy roof of mouth. 200 can be either x or c and since it depends on the part of the world in which you live, one is more common than the other so I often don’t include the x or c so as to keep it simple. x and c are often (not always) interchangeable. For the purposes of this article and many of mine, they are indeed interchangeable. However, the number is not.

  6. Josie says:

Please do not use or recommend Lavender and Citrus oils on or around felines. their livers cannot process.

  7. Shelby says:

Hi Joette, thank you for this valuable information. It both inspires and informs! recently reviewed this post and your other recent allergy post regarding mold allergy. Would you combine the two approaches if someone suffered from both pets and environmental allergies?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

Consider looking into my upcoming course “Allergies!?”. I’ll be going into this specifically. We don’t want to use a homeopathic for each and every allergen.

  8. Annabel says:

Is it th Sanguinaria that’s best for the itchy roof of the mouth & eyes? Thanks

  9. Patricia says:

What about the other symptoms of an allergic reaction besides the sinus stuffiness? When I get exposed to a cat my eyes itch so bad I want to rip them out of my head and one time I couldn’t breath (it was like I had asthma even though I don’t suffer from asthma). Would the Sanguinaria 200 take care of the itchy eyes too? You mention Antimonium and Arsenicum for itchy skin but not for itchy eyes. Thanks Joette. I hope to buy your Materia Medica soon and I know that some day my son or I will have you take a case for us. Thank you for all you do. Pat

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

Should you be interested, my course titled “Allergic” covers the rather in-depth subject of allergies including the remedies reported to have uprooted the entire condition as well as those used for SOS situations until the allergic state is calmed.

Meanwhile, look into Boiron’s allergy medicines that include itchy eyes.

  10. Jyl Hall Smith says:

What do you recommend for anxiety that is produced from car allergen?

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

Anxiety is anxiety, regardless of the cause. Look on this blog; I’ve posted a few articles on the subject.

  11. Angela Bacon says:

I have a dog with a mast cell tumor. I have been working on it holistically, so it’s been slowly diminishing, however, these tumors release histamines and can harm stomach lining. I use Benadryl and Tagamet. Would your allergy information be helpful with this kind of thing? I use homeopathic remedies on him also and he does very well with them. I also use some herbs and fight off vets attempts to vaccinate and give other dangerous chemicals.

    1. Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(Na) says:

      Yes, regardless of the etiology.
